Holiday Ornament by Washed Up Creations Giveaway & Review – 2011 Holiday Gift Guide

Is anyone else out there completely sick of all the snow and cold weather we are having? I know it is just the beginning of the holiday season, but I certainly am–especially since I’m coming down with Bronchitis and feel terrible. Today, I am happy to feature (and host a giveaway for) this Buried Snowman Ornament in my 2011 Holiday Gift Guide. The ornament is one-of-a-kind, hand-made by Michele from Washed Up Creations. Isn’t it lovely?

The Buried Snowman Ornament is a flat oval ornament that is filled with white craft sand, authentic blue sea glass, seashells, and a cute little glass snowman. I love that the bulb is plastic, which means that it will never smash or break. Each ornament that Michele creates is adorned with a pewter jingle bell charm and hung with a colored ribbon. If you are a beach lovers like me, this ornament is a great way to keep the summer and shore memories alive during the holiday season.

Here are some of her other holiday ornaments for sale this holiday season. The winner of this giveaway will win one either an ornament similar to mine, or similar to them–it all depends on which pieces of sea glass Michele has available once the giveaway ends. I think that just makes winning one even more fun–who doesn’t like a surprise?

Michele also has a fantastic selection of jewelry, and each piece of jewelry is different, as she makes all of her jewelry by hand. Michele’s jewelry pieces are beautiful works of art–they are recycled from the earth and represents nature, tranquility, and peace to me. Just look at how amazing this bracelet is that Michele made for me earlier this year.

According to Michele, she roams the shores of the Hampton’s on Eastern Long Island with her two dogs, looking for authentic and untouched sea glass. She tells me that what once was litter has now been transformed into something artistic! I can’t imagine how much fun her job would be, as I love the beach and collecting shells, rocks and sea glass. I took my family to several small beaches on the coast of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this summer, and the kids and I had a blast collecting rocks, shells and even a few rare pieces of sea glass. I imagine that Michele’s job as artist sounds utterly fabulous and fun, as I love nothing more than nature and pretty, shiny things.

Even if you can’t buy her ornaments or jewelry today, which is crazy because her pieces are so affordable, make sure to add Michele’s Etsy.com/shop/WashedUpCreations to your favorites, so you can remember to buy a piece of jewelry art when you do have the money. Or, add yourself to her mailing list at WashedUpCreations.com, as she has even more jewelry for sale there. This is the perfect pre-holiday present to yourself!
