Seriously, is there nothing better than the fall? Cooler weather, kids back in school, trips to the cider mill, and watching the leaves turn. I just love the whole season, but I especially love getting into the whole spirit of dressing up and making people laugh with my Halloween costumes each year. I feel it is the only day of the year where you and random strangers can drop your shields and laugh and have fun with one another. The best part? You can be disguised while doing it.
Halloween has become a huge holiday in the last decade, which is why I am so happy that there are now online Halloween costume stores. I’ve been taking turns creating my own costumes and buying costumes my whole life–so this year I was overjoyed when I found out that I’d be getting to review an item from BuyCostumes.com. Even better, they are allowing one of my readers the chance to win a $50 gift certificate from them! I decided to go with the Harry Potter Deluxe Robe Adult Costume, that retails for $39.99. Rather than dress up as Harry Potter, I decided to dress up as Hermione Granger, his B.F.F. and of course smarty pants classmate. I may be 40, but as you can see, I tried my darndest to make that robe work, to the dismay of my cat, Beatrice, who was not pleased to be playing Mrs. Norris.
I may have ratted my hair a little too much, but we were cracking up in this house while I was posing for these photos. How did I do capturing Hermione’s smug, studious look? I just loved my costume–it was warm, it fit me well, and very finely made. You can tell that this item was worth the price I would have paid for it. I hate those cheap looking costumes, and my robe was definitely not cheap looking at all. It is going to last for years, and I’ll be able to use it for years to come. And, I will, as I like to just dress up around the house to be silly. Perhaps I’ll even wear it while I read the last few books of the series?
What I liked about BuyCostumes.com was that they had a wide variety of costumes for adults, teens, kids and even pets. I was shocked to find out they had over 3,600 adult costumes alone–and, I was crazy enough to view them all before making my costume choice. It was easy to find things like accessories, and I loved that they also sold decorations and party supplies, as in the past, I’d throw huge Halloween costumes parties. They have been around since 1999, and if you visit their website right now, you’ll find that they are having a 2-day sale, giving everyone 15% off when you use the code TREAT15. Plus, shipping is free if you spend $70 or more. Why not check them out for all of your Halloween needs today? If you sign up for their email list, you’ll also receive a coupon for 15% off.
