Are you in need of a quick and easy gift that everyone will love this Easter or Mother’s Day? Then you are in luck, because I am going to tell you about the best food website I’ve run across in a long, long time. Chocolate.com is an online haven for chocolate lovers who can shop for treats while still dressed in their pajamas.
Chocolate.com was generous enough to send me their 24 oz. Mackinac Fudge Gourmet Sampler from the Mackinac Fudge Shop to review for my blog. As I’m a Michigander, I was extra-excited, because I love Mackinac Island, I love fudge, and I’ve never tried fudge from the Mackinac Fudge Shop. I’m a fan of all forms of chocolate, but fudge tops my list. The sampler came with three slices of fudge, weighing in at a hefty 1 1/2 pounds. Once my order was placed, I didn’t have to wait long until my box of chocolate arrived at my door. I nearly attacked the delivery man, I was so excited, especially after seeing that Chocolate.com banner on my package.
The first gourmet fudge I tried was Dark Chocolate, which was also my favorite fudge of the trio. It was to-die-for, delicious, yummy, and amazing. It melted in my mouth, and was so sweet, creamy and rich. If I had to eat one dessert for the rest of my life, I think it would be dark chocolate fudge.
The next flavor I attacked was Turtle. I love the taste of chocolate, caramel and pecans together. Mmmmm. This piece was really good, almost sinful.
The last piece of fudge I tried was the Rocky Road. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. It needed something else in it, perhaps an extra ribbon of chocolate. I’m not saying that in any way it tasted bad, it just wasn’t fabulous. But that’s just my opinion, you may taste it and love it.
Each fudge slice was 1/2 pound, and came in Chocolate.com’s gourmet collection gift boxes. My husband and I ate all of the fudge in 18 hours flat, but to be honest, I had an 8 hour head-start on him. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating it. I loved the extra touch the fudge shop included–just look at this hand-written gift card the staff from the Mackinac Fudge Shop sent me along with the fudge.
