According to Purex, this fabric softener is 92% natural, and contains crystals that work differently than traditional oil-based fabric softeners. Rather than coating fabrics with oily residue, Complete Crystals infuses your laundry with a reported long-lasting fragrance. Since you add it directly with your laundry, you no longer have to wait to add fabric softener during the rinse cycle. These crystals are also supposed to eliminate the messy residual gunk in your washing machine and on your clothes due to spilled liquid fabric softener.

 I’ve been using the same fabric softener since the 1980′s, when I began doing laundry at age 10. So, I figured that I’d give this product a shot. I opened up the lovely packaged sample, added a third of it to my laundry cycle, and walked away.

After I hung my clothes to dry, (I rarely dry clothing, just my socks and a few other hearty pieces of fabric. You’d be amazed how long clothes last if you hang them to dry.) I didn’t notice a huge change in scent than what I’m used to–my clothes smelled pretty fresh after using this product. But I was curious about this promise that my clothes would smell fresher longer. So, I left a full basket of clean laundry sit for a week before I smelled it, just to ensure I’d write an honest review. To be honest, I personally don’t think that my clothes still smelled really fresh. They just had a hint of the Fresh Spring Waters scent left. I won’t say that I loved this product, but I liked it and will use the rest of my sample as well as redeem my coupon for a free bottle. I did, however, really like that there wasn’t any liquid mess–because I hate it when my current liquid-based fabric softener gets on my clothes or all over the washer. I think that I’m going to have to use this product a bit more before I can say I’d be ready to switch over full-time, as I adore the scent of my current liquid fabric softener. This softener comes in three scents: Fresh Spring Waters, Lavender Blossom and Tropical Splash.

Is it safe?
Yes! It is safe for all fabrics, including athletic wear, baby and children’s clothes, towels and whites.

What can it do that other softeners can’t?
