So much to be sick of, so little time to blog about all of it. Seriously, ever since losing my job last month, I have less time to blog. I don’t even understand how this is possible, but it is true. I’m so sick of so many things, and I’m beginning with the one that actually is making my stomach literally hurt right now.
Being sick with multiple weird things – Seriously, I was just watching one of my favorite TV shows (HOUSE) and they mentioned Autonomic Neuropathy for a dude who was pronounced dead and during the autopsy, he woke up, since his Bradycardia gave him a low heart rate and EMS mistakenly pronounced him dead. He woke up when they were sawing through his chest. The guy’s tooth hurt so bad he pulled it out since his pain meds weren’t strong enough.

I mention all this because everything is wacky on my body, and within the last few weeks, my heart has went haywire, beating more irregular and I had to wear a heart monitor for a few weeks. My hair is falling out in huge amounts, and to me, it looks like I have a small balding patch on the left side of my hairline. For those of you who know my mom, she is nearly bald and I will die if I have that problem. My headaches are changing, now near my right eye and above my right ear and inside my head. My vision sucks so bad right now – I put a piece of foil with frosting on it the wrong side up when I was covering a cake last week, so that the messy (but yummy as hell) frosting was face up since I couldn’t see it. After nearly getting into three car accidents last Friday, I called another eye doctor/surgeon today, since the last one I went to kind of stunk. Months ago I was told I had multiple retina tears and to go back if things got worse, since I had a one in five chance that my retina will fulling detach. Agh. Two weeks to get in! Now I’m wondering if I should see a genetic doctor who specializes in connective tissue diseases, as I lack collagen and may either have Marfan Syndrome, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, or Sticker Syndrome. So sick of doctors, and I’ve been having fun forgetting all the things wrong with me.

The “New” Girls Next Door - I’ve regrettably been catching up on episodes from the new season just to see what the new girls are like. I am sick of these new girls after five minutes, and I think it is a little sad this is how Playboy has to get readers, by pretending 2o years olds are in love with Hef. Ugh, please spare me. Somehow I’ve managed to watch all the episodes and I’m ready to puke from the lack of fake acting. How could Sofia Coppola have cast these two idiots in her new film Somewhere?

I haven’t been this ashamed of a set of Michigan twins since the Mikula Twins. You guys have to watch them.

Christmas stuff already out in stores - Now, I’m guilty of already buying a few tiny presents, but only because I’ve found some great stocking stuffers and we are budgeting due to the one income. You just can’t have Halloween stuff and Christmas stuff out at the same time, it ain’t right. I get distracted by it, and I can’t buy either one this year, and it is breaking my heart not to have those Snoopy decorations I found last week. Damn you retailers, I can’t handle three months of temptation.

No Worker Left Behind Program- Well, I got my first taste of how the unemployment process here in Michigan works, and I don’t like it one darn bit. NWLB screwed up my mom’s unemployment, as she had one of the office workers help her file her claim last month. Took five weeks to fix. I knew it was a bad omen. When I had to file my unemployment claim online it took twice as long than the recommended time, and I’m no dumbass. Then I had to go to the No Worker Left Behind center to validate my resume, and even though they advertised night hours, they were closed with no reason on the door the night I went. The following week I attended the NWLB training, and surprise, surprise, the program is out of money, and even though they knew about it, the didn’t let us know until 30 minutes into the program. Why not give us a call, or send an email? Of course, this month they doubled the training, so there are hundreds of people SOl. Now, why the hell is anyone going to go through six weeks of training and awful presentations by rude staff only to be put on a waiting list to get 1/2 of the publicized $10,000 for college the state brags about, only to have the program end entirely this June. I had to raise my hand and tell the entire group that a certain website the director was giving out never existed, and I gave them the actual one, and I had to say I was certain, since I had worked for the organization for many years and had just lost my job from them. 30 minutes in I had to ask the presenter to explain what the program covered and how exactly it worked, since no website or staff member would explain it to me, and she refuse to do so until an hour later. Then I had to ask her why her staff told me in August I could qualify for the $10,000 if I lost my job, no matter what, when she is telling me there is a family income requirement. OMG, this program is so jacked up the news did a story on them last week because they weren’t even paying college students tuition vouchers, and these poor people were getting tuition bills for $2,000+. Obviously, Michigan likes to pretend that the program works when to me, it clearly is jacked up. Even one of the training workshops forces you to share with multiple strangers your entire work history, email, full name and contact information. When I mentioned the identity theft that was sure to happen, they looked at me like I was nuts. You were so right Governor Granholm when you told us that in five years, you’ll be blown away …

Mayo Clinic – After the scheduling fiasco that brought me to Mayo during the week all Neurologists were away on a medical conference was enough stress for the entire year. If you’ve forgotten, or started reading me after this spring, I was forced to sit in lobbies without eating or drinking all day, every day on standby for nearly every test over ten days and had to get patient reps to beg doctors to see me while also running their labs, as well as not being able to see a Cardiologist was enough stress to just about kill me. I wrote a post that was so emotional that two readers tweeted it to help me and I was actually contacted by their media director. Let me also remind you of the address fiasco, where after two weeks and three calls someone finally listened to my suggestion to double check my address and then they still refused to send me my patient info packet until 26 hours before my appointment, forcing my doctor to write another letter about my health for them while he was sick until 2am. Needless to say neither one of us was thrilled. Finally, let me remind you of the billing fiasco that took until mid September to fix $7,000 of misbilled charges that they billed to me by mistake.
So, after all this history, I was not prepared three weeks ago to get a bill from Mayo for nearly $800 for billing charges that were already paid and then suddenly withdrawn by the billing staff. This comes two weeks after receiving a bill statement with a $0 balance. I know enough about medical billing having worked in the field that if a bill is paid, you don’t unpay it and expect the patient to cover it. You certainly don’t tell me before a second audit that it looks like $70 will be taken off the bill, then force me to lose my mind when reviewing the audit report, as the audit amounts is even more than the bill you sent the week before. I am actually sorry I went to Mayo Clinic, because even though they gave me a diagnosis, nearly six months later I’m still having to deal with THEIR mistakes and rudeness, and no person who is sick wants this extra stress. It is not my fault they didn’t check their mistakes, and I won’t be paying one cent to them I don’t owe. I had great insurance and was told by my insurer multiple times this should be covered, etc. I think Mayo owes me money for the stress and anguish and lost time spent dealing with their incompetence.

I looked at all four pics and tried to play the game, what do these 4 have in common? And I lost.

Humorous – I am not sure what you mean? No one else has ever asked me this question, here or by email.
I write a semi-weekly post called I’m So Damn Sick of … Which is about whatever I’m sick that week, and this post is about any and all the things that are most bugging me this week.
Same with my Celebrity Crunch posts which I think you asked about before. They are semi-weekly, and those posts are about whichever celebrities I’m thinking about/crushing on/or just into that certain week.
Does that help you play the game now?

that’s a rather sad story and those beaurocratic issues… they just always come up when you expect them least …

Sexycookie – Oh, so frustrated about the NWLB and Mayo stuff. I just want some peace and my bills paid, not to mention free further education, like the 300,000+ other people in my state have had.

So sorry to hear about all the crap you are dealing with. That is too much for one person! I hope you get a break soon.

Birdpress – Me, too. I guess that is why I have less blogging time, busy dealing with a bunch of red tape. I guess if my life was easy, I’d have nothing to write about, lol! How are you doing these days?

I know I should have asked before, but have you been tested for Lyme? I went back and searched your blog for “lyme” and you mentioned a couple times that you hadn’t been tested…I ask because with my lyme, I’ve done (way too much for any one person, ever ) a lot of research and most of the things you have been diagnosed with, or “maybe” have are MIS-diagnosis of Lyme. Also, even if you have been tested, something like only 40% of people ever get the initial rash, and only like 60% come up positive (because the blood tests, if you even get both, test for antibodies and lyme likes to tell those antibodies to go away, so if you don’t have them, you come up with a false negative).
Anyway, thought it might be worth looking into or pressing someone about. Unfortunately a lot of doctors don’t aknowledge lyme as the problem it is, or at all so it might be hard to find someone educated or that will listen.
Check this site: http://www.chroniclymedisease.com/llmd-referrals and see if you can’t find yourself a LLMD (Lyme Literate doc – not an official term, but you get the idea) in your area that might be able to help. I hate to hear about all your pain, but the more I do, the more I’m feeling simularities, so it might be worth a look…
Hoping for the best for you!

Writebrite- My first Rheumatologist and the one at U-M would not test me for it for two years. Finally I made my first Rheumy do it, and she did one of the three tests they recommend. I did a test and had 76 of the 110 symptoms. Who knows, I went through thinking all of that before … just taking a break from searches, keeping the focus on my vision and hair loss right now. But thank you for the info, if i never need it, I have it at hand now.
I am hoping the best for you, too, and please, come to Michigan w/Mr. W. for the holidays. We can lay on my couches together and be sick while the men go to movies, etc.

Writebrite – Fantastic! And, for the first time ever, I will not be working and can spent time with you both. Please remind your fiancee that we have not spoken since August of 2008, and I’m kicking him in the ass when I see him next. I do not count his “I’m back from Iraq” call from April, as I was a crazy mess at Mayo Clinic. My god, can’t my old BFF even Facebook message me, lol?

Oh, that is a whole lotta illness. I’m just going to chime in to say I, too, have lost the love for The Girls Next Door. Air… heads. Their lip pecks are disgusting. I can’t even call them kisses.

Hi, I came across your blog on a search for blogs relating to Marfan. I’m sorry you’re having such health problems right now! I don’t know if this helps or not, but Marfan isn’t related to collagen, it’s related to fibrillin, so maybe you can cross that off your list. The National Marfan Foundation may be able to help connect you with a doctor who will know what they’re talking about, so you can get diagnosed accurately (and hopefully quickly!). You could reach them at http://www.marfan.org. Amy Kaplan is the nurse there and if you wanted to talk with her about docs, her email is akaplan@marfan.org. Good luck!

Marfmom – Oh, thank you for the info. Since I have lattice degeneration and Dysautonomia, many of my doctors have mentioned it, especially since my arms are longer are than I’m taller. Also at 5′10 I was the shortest person in my family, my brother is 6′5.” I need to get to a specialist soon. Just worried about the costs.
