Totally Stressed Out

My eye doctor found Lattice Degereration this afternoon … and he told me I have a one is five chace of getting a detached retina.  Um, oh my god

I read that this can be due to the Dysautonomia.  Which I have if you forgot or are new here.  Also read that Marfan Syndrome is common with both the Lattice Degereation and Dysautonomia.  Have most of the symptoms of Marfan Syndrome.  No clue what to think right now.

My vision is now -6/-6.25.  Does anyone have any clue how blind I am?  I know 20/20 is normal.  I also have Blepharitis.  And they had to do some weird tests so they blinded me unexpectedly … sat in the parking lot for an hour afterward laying there, massivly sick and having to pee.  Drove 10 miles and I couldn’t see the entire time.  Felt like a criminal.  I felt like I was drunk driving with a migraine headache and wearing a pair of glass that were way under my prescription, like my glasses from 1985 or so.  Dear lord thank you for not letting me cause a car crash or getting pulled over.  (Side note, I read that six states automatically yank your license if you get diagnosed with Dysautonmia.)

I have many thoughts on American Idol but this will wait until tomorrow.  (Loved Chris tonight!)  Tonight I am stressed that I am going blind.  Have already asked the hubby to make sure I get a Golder Retriever as my leader dog.  (I am not making fun of blind people, my father and both his parents were all blind at one point.  Just relating that even while I’m crazy and stressed I make inappropriate jokes.)

Plus my college BFF is making me crazy telling me to go on Disability and go to Mayo Clinic like my cardiologist told me to do a few weeks ago.  She’s a clinical psychologist/professor … so this REALLY freaks me out as she is not a bad advice person.

Somebody make a joke so when I open this tomorrow I can laugh about it …  Perhaps some ROL or KON assholes can mock me here?

  1. Yikes! I’m sorry to hear about your eyes. Is there any treatment for Lattice Degeneration? I’ve got to give you a friendly scold for driving like that, honey! I know you’re a brave girl, but don’t get yourself killed! Too many people care about you…

I hope you feel better today so I’ll try to drum up my best sheeple impression to make you laugh…here goes…

i dont know how i got to this site but you all need to shut up, kate is the most awesmest mother of the century. and you all all just big big meeny heads. 2. what kind of jokes you looking for?

blonde jokes? yo mama jokes? I got a buttload of jokes tell me what you need ;)

  3. and I too am sorry to hear this diagnosis. Is there any chance this doctor is wrong?

  4. Golden Retrievers are pretty smart. You could probably teach one to drive, and it would do better than half the people on the damned roads.

    Hang in there kiddo!

  5. oh…and your mama’s house is so small, the front and the back door are on the same hinge.

  6. I tend to agree with your college BFF. Since you are in Civil Service your disability benefits should be good so don’t hesitate to use it now when you need it. The Mayo Clinic is a great place and should be able to get you a final accurate diagnosis and maybe some help with your vision.

  7. Well, I’m sorry about your site. However, you might never have to see Kate Gosselin’s hair again!!

    I’m trying . . . . . . . .

Personally, I think you should go on disability too. The people at your work probably don’t appreciate you as much as we do and you need to take care of YOU!!!

  8. Oh, I just found out I’m bi-sexual.

This is because I only have sex BY MYSELF!!!

  9. It’s 430am and the funny ran out of me about 5 hours ago. I’m so sorry to hear about your news… I’ll keep you in my prayers!

  10. Thanks everyone. I am sitting here at the library and some quack is laughing out loud SO LOUD that he just gave me a headache … so I have to be brief and roll out of here.

I had to go back to the eye doctor yesterday. He and his assistant rechecked my eyes. When I woke up Wednesday and put on my new prescription contacts and they were way too strong and made me very ill driving to work. Hubby was kind enough to drive an hour at lunch to get me my old contacts and glasses, etc.

My eyes are extremely dry. The doc beleives I may have that Sjogrens Syndrome, but he can’t diagnose me with that because the diagnosis have to be done through my salvitory glands. Its a wicked auntoimmune disease … dries out your entire body. Meantime, I have to take some weird type of artificial tears to help me eyes.

I still have the lattice and I was dumb enough not to ask more questions again. I get overwhelmed when I go to the doctors. Also he says I have a noticible film covering both eyes which is causing the blurriness. No longer will I be able to have 20/20 correctible vision via contacts. He told me to either stick with what I have now or wear my glasses. I can’t have lasik because of my medical history. Nothing I can do about the dry eyes except take my tears. Not very happy about becomming unable to see again – I had vision problems starting age 8 but didn’t get glasses until I was 14 and never wore them, was 16 when I started to finally be able to see. so stressed last night I ate a bowl and a half of chocolate ice cream.

Thanks to you all for thinking about me, cracking jokes and (VV) making fun of my mom’s house. REALLY appreciate it.

  11. Well that sucks but it official u have more things wrong with you then my mother and thats not an easy task. Ill forgive you for not having a LOST post up by now. Hang in there girl!

  12. Jen512 fucking rant was hilarious!

    thank you!

  14. Thanks! Happy to make you guys laugh =]

  15. Trust me, I have no clue how I found your page. LOL
BUT – I wanted to say that what your diagnosis is depends on what specialist you see. They see what they specialize in.
From what little I’ve been able to read, I’d suggest a couple of things – Vitamin A and Vitamin B’s. Seriously.
Many of your symptoms sound like a chronic shortage of vitamin B, which is a lot of different ones, and can take years for the shortage to really show up.
Your eyes could easily be vitamin A, and could be either a side effect of a med you’re on or a result of a med you’ve been on.
I can’t wear contacts anymore because my eyes are so dry, but it’s not SS.
I’m no doctor. Just a person who used to work in the medical field and loved to do research and now is disabled. It sucks. LOL
If you want to email me, go for it. I’m here.
    Leslie

  16. I didn’t tell you but I am legally blind. My vision is 20/200 and I wear biopic telescopic lenses. I lost my vision to a vitamin definciency Vitamin A and B. You remember I am 5′7″ and my weight plumeted down to 88 pound in 2003. Leslie has a point about the vitamin deficiencies. It floored me when they said I had Nutritional Toxic Ambliopia. You know who I am… we hung out in Madison Heights… your friend from the ghetto… Dawn

    • Jesus Dawn, I’m sorry to hear it! that’s crazy! I keep hearing more people from our hood dying of cancer (9 so far) or having other wierd disease or conditions. I always think that incinerator poisoned all of us. We lived outside. Its all so Erin Brockevich.
