Just like the color of Micheal Jackson’s skin … American Idol is slowly fading.

Tonight was “supposedly” Michael Jackson night … but after hearing Idol’s “Baker’s Dozen” perform tonight, I only heard a few songs that was remotely similar to a Michael Jackson original. and where the hell was Michael Jackson? Aren’t the stars supposed to come and “coach” the Idol kids … I guess Anoop isn’t young enough for him … hee hee.

Hello singers – listen to the judges. People who are sixteen need to sing young fun songs. Don’t dance if you can’t. Liven up. And only Blake Lewis and David Cross are good enough to mix new versions of popular songs … you aren’t yet, if ever ready to, so STOP FUCKING trying. Ugh, I’m having a near heart attack here.
Let’s lighten this up with a picture of me, dressed as Michael Jackson for Halloween.

So here are my thoughts on tonight’s two hour event. Seriously, Idol – why not a Van Halen Idol? Plenty of safe slow songs for your boring but attractive singers! Think about it!
- Lil Rounds- Sang The Way You Make Me Feel. She was good. Felt I liked her more after hearing her home was destroyed by a Tornado last year. But sympathy is no reason to vote for people. Hopefully her big ass can take her far.
- Scott McIntyre-Played piano and sang Keep The Faith. He needs to pick it up and liven it up to stay on. I like him but he has GOT to cut the curls off. I DETEST men with curly hair.
- Danny Gokey-When he started off slow to P.Y.T. I was throwing up in my mouth. All of a sudden he surprized me and charmed me with his soulful and upbeat version. I love him, and have a crush on him. Who can hate a widow? I have a thing for men in glasses. Did you guys see Paula crying? Brilliant. This dude is going to have so much pussy being thrown at him starting next week …
- Michael Sarver-Sang a slow version of You’re Not Alone. The performance was slow and boring to me.
- Jasmine Murray-Did anyone notice her mom looks like Latoya Jackson? Hee hee. She’s a beautiful girl who can’t hit her high notes. I give her props for trying, but her version of I’ll Be There was a little shakey. Love your hair, by the way.
- Kris Allen-Played guitar and sang Remember The Time. To quote Simon, it was a forgettable performance.
- Allison Iraheta-Sang Give It To Me. Sort of forgettable. I like her, but this song is unrecognizable.
- Anoop Desai – Sanjuaya he’s not, however, he stunk up the stage tonight with MJ’s classic Beat It. The only thing he could have done to spice up that song would be to get Eddie Van Halen to come do a guest solo on guitar.
- Jorge Nunez-Missed the mark with Never Say Goodbye. Next please. I really don’t care for him at all.
- Megan Corkrey-Ok, she is a divorcee and has a baby? I thought she was like 18. Jesus. She sang Rockin’ Robin. A silly song for a girl with a unique voice. She totally coped out.
- Adam Lambert-Mr. Black nail polish has talent. He could totally make it on Broadway. He sang Black or White. I still liked Danny better, probably because I hate that waddle under Adam’s chin. Adam is a seasoned performer, so I’m sure he will make it to the top three if America votes for talented people, rather than Vote for the Worst like last year’s disasterous Sanjaya. Ugh.
- Matt Giraud-Played piano and sang Human Nature. Now, this boy is from Michigan, my home state, and already I like him. It was fantastic, but it was much more tolerable than most of the other performances I saw tonight. He’s been better.
- Alexis Grace – Our pink haired lady sang Dirty Diana. I like her for taking this risk. Sad to see her shuffle around stage like an old grandma, though.
Anoop should get voted off, but too many people from India will vote for him. My guess is Jorge. Like he said, Puerto Rico is a small island. Jasmine is too cute to leave, and we already have another Latino – Allison. As for the second Idol to go … it’s going to be either Michael Sarver or Lil Rounds because I fear these people who won’t be popular enough to stay.
The Girl from the Ghetto – OUT …

LOL! wow yeah I so can NOT watch that show anymore. I think it wore off like after the first couple of seasons.

Java – I watched season one, then took off like five years from the show. I’ve been back for the past few years … I’m a karaoke junkie and I love music and singing, so I can’t help it. But yeah, this season so far most of these kids don’t have any BALLS.

OK…this is so bad I should not even repeat it, but so damned funny I will. In a sick sick way.
On the radio this morning, one of the hosts said that Danny Gokey was going to do “Thriller” complete with corpse…
I did not even get it until tonight…
but DAMN am I the only one who doesnt need to hear another word about his dearly departed??

Vinyl – Yeah, everyone loves a cute widower. Ha ha, good joke.
And yes, my costume was HYSTERICAL … and of course I won first place at work. I can even moonwalk, well, sorta …

I think the producers are playing up Danny’s loss. It gives them an excuse for another montage and drippy music. I actually think Sarver might stick around for awhile. He’ll appeal to blue collar audiences.

Electric Smoking – Of course they are … it totally suckered me in. You know, Sarver was a last minute guess. Sometimes people who are good go and I like him, but had no clue as to who the other person they will kick off will be.

Don’t mean to nitpick….
but it’s David COOK, not David Cross.
Just had to make a note of that. He’s my guy!

RockerChick – Oh, I knew I was wrong last night … thanks! I knew a David Cross, lol ….

I’m still trying to figure out why they added a fourth judge. I do think Kara adds more value than Paula, who is still as incoherent as ever. So why keep her? She is entertaining in a train wreck sense, so maybe that’s why they keep her around? But I just feel like 4 judges throws off the flow of the show.
I’m glad you are blogging about AI. I am sort of burned out on ROL Bus. I feel like I need a shower every time I’m done watching it. Sadly, that doesn’t stop me.

Shannon TX – Kara is all about change. They pick 13 instead of 12. When shows mix up the formula, that is when you know they jumped the shark. Just like ROL has … I can’t promise I will blog about AI each week … some nights I just want to go to bed and not watch any tv. Like tonight. I am sad, but SO HAPPY LOST isn’t on because I am feeling dizzy and plan on going to bed soon.

David Cross is also a comedian/actor…Mr. Show, Arrested Development, etc.
Just had to mention that because he’s one of my favs!
I’ve never watched AI so I can’t relate, but funny enough when I was looking into that Nielsen thing earlier, I noticed its listed American Idol as the number one rated show in the country for the past FOUR YEARS. Whoa.

Scott McIntyre is mediocre at best as a singer. He’s a great arranger though and that will probably be his future. But he does not belong in the top 10, he’s just not a good singer. He’s a total snoozer. I really think he’s getting the sympathy vote. I can’t help but think if he were not blind the judges would be much more honest with him, but they’re afraid they’ll come across as mean. I say judge him on his voice, not his disability.
