Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Who isn’t in love a little bit with Jimmy Fallon?  I’ve had my eye on him since Saturday Night Live, when he was the giggling boy who had that great sexual chemistry with Tina Fey. I mean, has the Weekend Update ever been that good?  (Well, maybe in the seventies, but you know what I mean.)   I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy last summer on the set of Whip It, a cool roller derby movie coming out next fall.  Even though he was encircled by a bunch of wanna be actresses and whores, I strutted my big fat blonde stepmom ass up to him and said hello.  Perhaps one of my boldest moves, but it got me a conversation and tiny three minute mini interview with one hell of a nice guy.  He had us cracking up on set, making it fun for the extras who were ungodly hot and tired after a long day of shooting.

I managed to stay up last night and watch about a half hour of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.  Thankfully, the hubby dvr’d it, and we watched it tonight in its entirety this evening.  Of course, we enjoyed it.  Something about Jimmy reminds me a little bit of my high school boyfriend, and I bet a lot of women my age feel the same way.  Jimmy, is cute, but not so hot you can’t even look at him without blushing.  You can talk to him and feel like he’s listening to what you have to say.  He’s interested in your mind, or at least you think he is.  He’s funny, and once he gets on a roll, he owns the room.  You are first his best friend, and before you know it, you are dating him.  I guess, in a sense, Jimmy Fallon is the updated version of Llyod Dobler, one of films greatest characters of all time.  Anyone who does not know who Lloyd Dobler is (John Cusack’s greatest role.) needs to watch Say Anything (Cameron Crowe) immediately.

One question: do you need… someone, or do you need me?… Forget it, I don’t really care. – Lloyd Dobler.

So, my thoughts on last nights show are – He was funny in the monologue, nervous but still good interviewing the mighty Robert De Niro.  (Who I think might have Asperger’s from his lack of eye contact during his time on the show.  I’m sure I’m wrong, but man, you are one hell of an actor my man!)  The Space Train skit they did together – Ah, not so much.  But the imitations of one another pretending to be in Taxi Driver and Taxi were great.  Justin Timberlake is so funny, he needs to be a movie star rather than a singer.  JLO did it, why not Justin Timberlake?  Hollywood, get moving on that!  And JT’s new MTV show The Phone sounds great!  Come on, you all know you loved the Bee Gees singalong (Talkin’ ‘Bout Love …) and the John Mayer and Michael McDonald imitations!

Want to know my most exciting part of the show?  (Beside the Blonde Mother Target Demographic … since I am one, lol!) The Lick It For 10 skit.  I was off my chair when I realized that the NBC page who gave hubby and I a tour of the studios in last November was on stage last night!  OMG, I was so impressed with her as a page and her background that I remembered her, and the fact that she graduated from Syracuse.  I almost even remember her name.  I talked her ass off about her job and was impressed with her and HOLY SHIT she was on stage!  I am all like “You Go Girl!”  She was the one with the glasses.    Now I wish I was an NBC page for a day!

Tonight Tina Fey will join Jimmy on Late Night.  I secretly hope the two of them get it on.  Does that sound weird?  Its just that on SNL they seemed perfect for one another.  I know they are both married, but a girl can dream.  Its like the feelings I had as a girl watching MASH … that kiss between Hawkeye and Hot Lips sent me over the moon.

How about it Jimmy and Tina?
