I used to love Jon & Kate Plus 8, but here is what happened:
I got tired of Kate yelling at the kids and Jon. I saw the wonderful Aunt Jodi leave the show mysteriously, and I got sick of seeing Kate drag her kids around town. And then Teeni, my blog friend asked me did I hear about all the controversy surrounding the show. I had not, so I did my own research on the internet, became disgusted by learning Kate denied help from her church, one in which her father worked at, and started writing about how upset I was about the show.
I still watch J&K, but just to see what free stuff Kate gets next. I’ve watched from the beginning, and was amazed like the rest of the country at how hard it was to handle raising this many kids at once. I fell hard for the adorable children. I enjoyed seeing Kate’s bitchy side. But then I noticed all of the negative comments about Jon, Mady and Alexis, and even the boys.
Today I spent a little time reading the may articles on the web. Because after reading everything I have, I’m mostly convinced that from the time they found out they were pregnant, they planned to raise those kids in the spotlight. Don’t believe me? Then why did Jon create a website called sixgosselins.com before they were born?

According to ABCnews.com, the show began when producers contacted the Gosselins on their website. To me, this proves that they wanted the world to know their every move. I found out on eveningsun.com that Kate quit her job AFTER Jon lost his and she was pregnant. WHAT?????? According to this site, “Jon lost his job after applying for health-care coverage where he worked because his employer would not be able to afford it.” and “She quit her job because of the pregnancy and the family went from a young two-child family with two incomes to a 10-person family with no income.“ Why would she quit when she could have just went on medical leave or eventually get fired for missing work and collecting unemployment? I found an interesting memo from Penn State that Kate did indeed graduate from college. Some people have said on here she didn’t have a real degree but of course she does. “Kate Gosselin, is a registered nurse in labor and delivery at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she completed nursing school.” Also, I finally figured out her original church that she left when her father go mad that she turned away mismatched donated items for the babies. “The Gosselin family has requested that anyone wishing to make monetary donations for the family contact Calvary Bible Felowship Church.“

At last, interesting news found on their own website. They are publishing another book, even though they just launched one in October. It’s called Eight Little Faces and can be pre-ordered on amazon.com now! The book features pictures of the kids and Kate’s encouragement. WHAT??? Every time I watch the show she is doing anything but encouraging Jon and the kids. She’s busy putting them down and ordering them around like a five star general. Don’t agree? remember the garage episode when Mady says her dad is busy organizing the garage and her mom was busy sitting in her chair and giving directions. Even her kids know the score. Don’t be blindsided people. She may be Christian, but she’s making hand over fist in cash. They are making over $2 million this season alone from TLC. Plus books sales, appearances, and free stuff.
All of you who are going to post here, “Oh they need it, they have 8 kids!” I say to you “When is it right to make a living off of your kids and to film their lives constantly?” Anyone remember a few troubled child stars and their public shaming – Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore, Tatum O’Neal, Josie Sweetin, The Olsen Twins, Lindsay Lohan, Macauluy Culkin, Danny Bonaduce, Todd Bridges,The Osbourn kids, Tracey Gold, and many many more.
You really want that for these kids? Keep buying their stuff, and going to their parents appearances. You’ll make it happen. And look for my I told you so the first time its reported in the news when Mady gets caught with drugs or alcohol. A private issue will be headline news. No one wants that for their child.
One last thing, someone has graciously tipped me off to the new mansion of Jon & Kate Gosselin. But, after someone bitched to me about child molesters, which I never thought of, I decided to edit the address. Apparently the real estate agent left the url for some person like Cleavergoogler to find and tip me off. I went and I saw a big mansion, with a big old pool out back and plenty of land surrounding the Gosselin Compound.
KATE, I beg you, end the show, end the press, end the MADNESS. Jon & Kate Plus 8 is now all about the stuff YOU get rather than the kids and your struggle to raise them. GET OUT!
I know someone with 12 children. Her and her husband are able to raise them well on a normal working salary. This is ridiculous.

Interesting…..I think I understand where you’re coming from. The show was okay while it still seemed genuine and people could get a taste of the reality of raising higher order multiples. Now, it has seemingly turned into a media frenzy…with all the trimmings.
I believe that many parents of multiples are likely frustrated that this family in particular is getting so much attention and free stuff while others silently go through all the same day-to-day struggles and milestones without all the fanfare. The show has possibly worn out its welcome with this group.

I know I can’t watch that show. It drives me nuts. Also, her reasoning is flawed if she thinks society “owes” her anything. She already had twins and didn’t need to have more children. Society focuses on families but does it “owe” children to the childless couples who can’t have ANY? She’s whacked.

I think, like most reality shows (sorry…), this whole thing is a farce.
She is a B*tch (with a capital “B”). I can tell…I am a guy. I can only imagine Jon crying himself to sleep every night and wanting to be at work at much as possible.
Her life has to be hard with the responsibility and I encourage them to do what they can to get by, but try doing this without the corporate support they get…IMPOSSIBLE!

Kate was so mean tonight on the Mommy for a Day show. She put down Mady AGAIN and said that Jon yells like Mady and that they are alike while her and Cara are alike … OMG, I had to laugh at that one.
Vinyl – I’ve got my dukes up, ready for a fight. The Duggars are weirdos, but at least I never hear anyone scream in that house.
Electrician- My hubby HATES Kate, won’t even watch the show EVER with me. I am so sorry for Jon, I think of him every Monday night and think how hard life must be to live with that mouth.
Teeni – I about died when I found that out!!!
Raybear – My friend Matt from college was #14 out of 15 kids. All of them went to Michigan State and their parents helped them all out with tuition by working hard and saving. That was AMAZING to me.
Kellie – Exactly. I couldn’t IMAGINE that many diapers, feedings, kids running around. I get that her life was hard, hard, hard. The show has changed, and it seems like a time to end. I think several of these kids will not like watching these episodes in the future. I’d be bummed if my mom called me out every episode.

ive driven by there on many occasions you can hear the kids playing but dont worry there is a fence around everything which is pretty standard for houses in that area but also they are getting a gated driveway which is not standard! lol talk about moving on up lol they are finally getting a piece of the pie that their children practically baked for them. also im not trying to stir up controversy but dont believe everything in those articles there is no such thing as the real truth when it comes to this family. As per the READING EAGLE in 2005, Jon was NOT fired from his job. He just came in less and less and finally stopped showing up at all. Healthcare had NOTHING to do with it. It would have been illegal to stop coverage. Jon was a no-show. The employees of where he ‘worked’ were tired of the misinformation Jon was spewing out and they and his notifiued RE about the truth. J&K are grifters, plan and simple.

Since you have GREAT info on the Gosselin’s that most of us didn’t know…Do you know where they lived before they moved to that million dollar house? My brother just moved from Lancaster Pa and has shown me a few of the places that they’ve been to..such as Sight and Sound Theatre..and that cooking place where Jon took Maddy and Cara for baking lessons.
I 100percent believe you about your friend and how Kate owes her money. If I were that friend I’d find a way to get my 50 bucks. Like take that bitch to court..lol. Someone needs to put her in her place. She seems eager to do it to everyone else.

GFTG-I am so glad you posted this blog, with all the websites where the Jon and Kate clan can go and maybe understand why we can’t stand what Kate does. It’s all there for them to read and research themselves. I figured Kate was the type not to pay back her debts. She thinks people should do stuff for her for free..but babysitting that many kids, she should of given more! Oh yeah, she didn’t pay any of it, how pitiful! And PSA student, tell us some of the things she does when she thinks no one is looking…LOL!!! She would hate for that to get out cause she wants everyone to think she is Miss Perfect. But seriously, she has clearly stated many times that she has OCD. There is therapy for that and she should really look into it, if not for her, for the sake of her kids. It makes me cringe when I see a 3 year old little boy about have a nervous breakdown because he got some dirt on his hands. Thank God, Jon told him to wipe in on his shorts and to calm down-that no one cared if he got dirty. On a few other websites, I have read that the discipline that we see (timeouts) is really not the way the kids are disciplined when the cameras aren’t around or if it caught on tape, Kate won’t allow it to be used. TO me that’s not reality, reality is the good, bad and the ugly. OH YEAH…did you hear that Microsoft is backing the Gosselins now??? Yeah, that’s what Jon said in an interview. The topic was saving money at Christmas and he said the were getting a computer for everyone-with all the bells and whistles..and some stocking stuffers. That was the biggest bunch of crap I have ever heard. For 1, if they are being back by Microsoft, they got the computer (bells and whistles included) for FREE!!! Jon was acting as if they never have enough money to get all the kids a bunch of stuff. Where is this man’s brain?? I have watched the Christmas episodes, and the kids get quite a bit. And why would Jon and Kate be worried about $$ for Christmas…everything they get is free..clothes, V-Tech, computer (and all the presents that their fans send in)…etc. I don’t know if this exploitation will ever end. I would love to walk up to Kate and grab her by the shoulders and shake some sense into her. AND TO ALL YOU KATE AND JON FOLLOWERS…It’s not that we are jealous of all the things they have been showered with..it’s the way they are getting them and the way their children have been used and exploited. They don’t take responsibility for their choice of having more than 1 child with IUI..they knew the risks. They had good people who were willing to help them out but Kate didn’t want used beds, clothes…she knew by having 6-she would have big companies wanting a piece of the pie and they could use her kids for advertisement. Kate-they don’t love you and your kids…you are nothing more than a way for them to promote their items. Once your show is over, it won’t take them a half a second to find another cash cow to use until they are wore out. You better pray and pray hard that everything you have put your kids through doesn’t have a negative effect on them as the continue to grow up abnormally…and if something happens…IT’S YOUR FAULT!

Teka – If it weren’t for their show most of us would not know they even exist, let alone look in their windows. For instance, have you ever seen those specials on 20/20 about those conjoined twins girls that are like 17 and live in the US? They basically share one body and have two heads and four arms. (Forgive me if I’m giving a wrong physical description, they may have two hearts and four lungs, not sure!) They did a special when they were born, when they started school, and when they started driving. You can see that they live a normal life in their town, no one is looking in their windows, they have friends and are very sweet girls. Their parents didn’t want the media hype, but knew society would like to hear about them, so they do specials from time to time. I think they made the absolute right decision.

I think Jon and Kate are just a normal couple who aren’t afraid of showing their real side in front of the camara. People are jealous because they managed to make a living out of the show. Who will want their kids to wear old clothes and never be able to go to Disney World because it is a fortune to get 10 tickets? It seems like Jon is from a well-to-do family and had experience a lot of things, it is natural for him to wish their kids to have the same experience.
If they plan this out as soon as they found out they are pregant with six, I will just think that they are very smart people. Also, a lot of people create website for their children, so I really don’t know what it is supposed to prove.
Also, I am sure when the little kids grow to 8 years old, the show will be canceled. Still, they need to manage to put the kids through school and college long after the show is over. I think it is good for them to make as much as they can now so they can provide for them when their lives return to “normal”.
I think Kate is doing her best to take care of the family. Sometimes she may be over-organized and over reacted, but it is very normal when you have eight kids to care. And it is the only way to keep the house remotely organized when you have 8 kids in the house. People need to be a little open-minded. In fact, I am glad that Kate is willing to show her so-called “bitchy” side. To me, it is way better than those shows that everyone is always smiling and talk about God ALL THE TIME. Those are fake and unlike Jon and Kate, their children are old enough to be very conscious in front of camera.

Eva – I agree that its nice to get free trips to Disney, clothes, people to help you, etc. But do you realize that I have read that KON made $2.7 million in 2008 just from the show? And it sounds bad TO ME that KAte was upset that Aunt Jody was offered to be paid, and that is why their relationship ended? And, THEY ARE FAMILY? That certainly sounds NOT NICE to me. And many many people have emailed me, commented here and on the other KON blogs saying that KON is getting cash offerings at churches from people when they speak, cash money that is raised weekly … book sales, plus all the free trips and merchandise? All of this just for having sextuplets? I feel that there are many more people in need than this family. They have been blessed with all that money. Now the twins are old, people know they have a show, and I can see how its affecting them. Outbursts, temper tantrums, etc. I still feel its time to quit.

my husband works at the same hospital where kate worked. he said that no one there could stand her. if the gifts that she got weren’t name brand she would not accept them. one of the nurses said that she doubled up on the fertility meds to have the sextuplets.

I used to like the show in the beginning. Now I think its completely about Kate and all the perks she gets. She is a nasty wife and yells at the kids all the time. I don’t really think she has a good relationship with anyone in her family. Jon is cute and lazy but still he doesn’t deserve her witchy attitude. The show needs to be canceled. A lot of my family/friends were watchers of the show, now not watching due to Kate and trying to make money off of the kids. Plus, didn’t Kate’s own mom say she went to several doctors hoping to get pregnant with a liter? Apparently one said ok. UGH!!

I love Jon and Kate.
I don’t see any problem with their show or how they do things. I don’t see why anyone is complaining anyhow. It’s not your place. They can do what they want and you don’t have to watch the show.
At least their kids live a good life with nice things.
I think Kate is doing her best, and even though she does yell and overreact sometimes, that’s just how she handles the stress of 8 kids. I doubt any of you can say your perfect.
If you weren’t jealous about their success, why on earth would you complain? If you were making a good living for your family this way, I highly doubt you’d be complaining or try to stop it. Why would you?
And who are you to determine whats right?
All relationships have problems and issues to work out, 60% of them in this country end up in divorce. I think they are very straight forward and love eachother and their kids and just want to have the best for them? What parent doesn’t?
Why would you try to take that away? If they enjoy it, let them.

I use to be the one who would say that I felt bad for Jon because of how kate really treats him when the cameras were on but anymore Im starting to look at him like a big baby. Ive read in SEVERAL articles now that even with him working as an IT, he could never keep a job and was always working for somebody else. I think in the very beginning when they 1st started filming, Kate was showing how they basically lived paycheck to paycheck and had to use coupons at the store to save all the money they could, but now I think it as the show went on and they have become bigger then expected, she started to become greedy and cried out for all the help she could get. It must be nice to have people feel bad for you and give you handouts when a lot of Americans are struggling. Is it jealousy? Hell yes it is, I admit it. I thought reality tv was suppose to make us viewers feel like were not the only ones going through these tough times and that if they can do it with 8, we can do it with 2 or more but now Im starting to feel like this tv show has changed them and their not at all what they were cracked up to be like they were a few years ago.

Kristy – I have read that Jon has lost a few jobs as well. I can’t imagine how hard it would have been for him to take care of those kids, be married to Kate, and having to work all the time. Who knows? All I know is that I used to love the show, because it was so interesting to see how you feed all those kids at once, etc. But now its all about trips. The magic is gone, and they are getting older. I hope them being on tv won’t harm them in the long wrong. And I say this because Kate clearly favors some kids over others, makes fun of some kids, says bad things about some kids. Now, I realize many other moms may do this, but the difference is that 1. Their words aren’t being broadcast on tv. 2. People will tell them when thy get older what happened on the show, they will watch it, and be upset by the words and actions their mother did. And, no matter what, I myself would be embarrassed as hell if my potty training was videotaped and played for the masses. That should not be taped.

I, for one, believe that for a so called “family”show, Jon and Kate demonstrate alarming behavior. Not only to each other but to the children, friends and to there own immediate family. Do you think this show/behavior is ok for children to watch? A woman who outrightly belittle’s her husband, slaps him, corrects him constantly, clearly favors the girls over the boys, demands for everything to be done HER way and if it’s NOT..she puts not only her husband down but her children too. I really dont want my children viewing that. Like I said..its supposed to be a family show..and in my opinion it’s not. Not with that type of alarming behavior from two grown people. A family show shouldn’t be displaying 8 small children as a small business. I also would like to see ( other than St. Jude) Kate give back to others who weren’t as fortunate as her. Like the Gap clothing, matching everything, toys up the ass, etc.
There are plenty of other family’s who are struggling that don’t have TLC floating there way. They could def use J&K’s hand me downs. There are many family’s that have alot of kids who support themselve’s by doing what they need to do. Jon and Kate NEVER have had to do that. She from day one had money on her mind and NOT her kids or her husband. So, for that I have zero respect for her. If that money went away tomorrow..Kate would be a complete pyscho. That would mean JOn would have to work..and god forbid..Kate!!
I’m NOT jealous in any way…I’m tired of all who disagree with our opinions against J&K saying we’re “jealous.” I am a medic..my husband works for Homeland Security and we have 2 kids..We work hard. And..we don’t act like that as a family. I dont allow my sick kids to lay on a laundry room floor. That is wrong is EVERY way. She is NOT an example that I want my kids seeing as “normal” She’s NOT my hero. IF my husband and I were to have a TV show..I would know NOT to at least act like that and make all of America hate me. Most of America doesn’t hate the Duggars..or the other TLC family’s. They may think they’re weird..but not nasty.

The entire premise disgusts me. The children aren’t to blame of course, but the parents should be ashamed. This world is overflowing with people and these fools, who already had two children, use fertility drugs? The manufacture and use of fertility drugs should be outlawed.
These two then go on, with the eager help of TV shills and the mindless support of you “fans” to create this voyeuristic circus of a show. All complete with product placement and neurotic behavior.
Awful people(except the children, for them I feel compassion), awful show. Stupid fans.

I think you should get off your high-horse and stop accusing people of things because you got information off of internet articles and interviews. You don’t know them, and if you don’t like them- then make it easy by ceasing to watch them. If this show helps put their children in college (which they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford- and you don’t know that) than that to me seems like a parent trying to be responsible! Learn to have empathy and stop judging people for decisions they make, it’s their lives so let them live it the way they see fit!

Tina – TLC ain’t gonna give a show to a single chick with 14 kids. I also know quite a few people who have taken fertility drugs … one of my old co-workers got pregnant with quads … the doctor’s office called to APOLOGIZE because it was a mistake made on their part … the first mistake they have ever had in their practice. That was just four babies. Two eggs that both split. Every women who I know in real life who has experience in this sort of thing, plus the friends of friends who know people who have seen fertility specialists have all been saying how no fertility doctor in their right mind would allow them to 1. Begin all the fertility crap at her young age w/o trying the natural way for a few years; let alone 2. Let her get pregnant with that many babies. The whole fertility things stinks to a whole lot of women here in in Michigan.

The Learning Channel { TLC }President Eileen O’Neill said production companies that work with TLC have already made offers to Octuplet mom Nayda Suleman’s family, but the network is waiting to see how TV-friendly the family is.
HELL NO!!! Why would anyone want to watch and reward a woman whose irresponsible and sounds like a nut-case and did this on purpose?

In my opinion Kate Gosselin did the same thing as she was hospitalized with hyper-stimulated overys..So that means NO INTERCOURSE for awhile or Fertility treatments, then low and behold 5 weeks later she goes in for an ultrasound as she knows she is pregnant and sees 7 embryos one which later was reabsorbed.
She and her hubby went against their doctors advice and thats why they have 6 kids. No wonder she exclaimed as she said on TV and in her book “What have we done” when she 7 embryos on the ultra sound screen.
If people would stop rewarding people such as Suleman & the Gosselin’s etc, people would stop having litters of children to pimp out for profit.
I’d also hope people would boycott TLC if Nayda Suleman is given a show.

I think that this show is amazing. I couldn’t do it. Hell my husband is Army and I am home alone 24/7 with 2 kids and I about lose my mind on a daily basis. I can only imagine the things that she goes through.
You people are full of sh*t. Who cares why they did other people have the opportunity to do it and if they don’tdo it then that’s their loss. If I had that many kids I would. People like to know about things.

As I made clear, I do not fault the children, besides not being responsible for the circumstances of their births they are pretty charming. No, I fault the parents. I don’t give a damn about their child-rearing tactics or their daily tribulations. I condemn the selfishness and lack of awareness of any contemporary person in this society who chooses to overbreed. Couples should stop at two…in fact even if a woman remarries after having two with the first partner she should consider herself done. The ever increasing number of people on Earth is putting stress on EVERYTHING…air and water quality, food supplies, wild animals and their habitats. I am not saying that people should deny themselves the joys of baby creation…just use some restraint . And by all that is good and true, DO NOT use fertility drugs.

And also, discipline techniques? WTF? Yeah, I guess you could call screaming at the children a ‘technique’ but it’s not one I would ever use. I have two step-daughters, the oldest one just turned 4. I don’t use one thing gleamed from Kate, and if I did, my husband would divorce me so fast…
The only way to discipline a child is to talk to them respectfully, like an adult, down at their level. There’s a technique I’d like to see Kate try.

Respectful comments disagreeing are always a wonderful read, I personally am always interested in hearing well written opposing opinions and their reasonings why.
The first time I watched that show I thought they were rich and not pretending to be poor. Now that I read around and see so many of the same comments about them pretending to be poor, I have to watch another episode to see witness that myself (not that i dont believe it, i just want to see it ). That is appauling if it is true! If they are getting paid and getting free trips and gifts, they should not try to relate to normal hardworking families who really have nothing; it makes it seem as though those who REALLY have it hard do not, and that is not fair for it stops them from getting the assistance they truly need. If they are rich from the show, thats fine as long as they are not spending it ALL on themselves, majority going to the children of course. Personally, of course I would take a tv show if offered to me when im about to have a house full of 8 kids! In my mind money would have been the main concern, but not for greed but to provide for the kids. At first, I can believe that is what they thought but somewhere down the road it probably went awry. In my opinion, this should be the last season for the show, if J &K want their own show, thats fine.. but leave the children out of it as they are getting to the age where camera crews and having personal moments filmed for the world to see will have a negative impact on them for life. I will not knock them for the show… I WILL however do so if they continue this for much longer.
As for Kate, when I watched the show I could not BELIEVE the way she talked to the person that should be HER HUSBAND!!!, I could not BELIEVE the way she talked to her kids… ABOUT her kids even. I personally came from a home with a woman just like Kate, pretending to be OCD, the fake ploy for “organic”, talking DOWN to her children like their opinions and feelings do not matter, making the MAN do everything and making him feel as though he is always wrong. THAT is by NO MEANS the measure of a woman, I am ASHAMED to share the same gender as her. I am sorry but she is a bonified F-R-A-U-D to me and will not be surprised if she tricked him into having those babies. As a child myself (well not really a “child” per se but meh) I craved for people to talk to me as an adult as to why what I did was wrong and why I should not do it again. People do not understand just how much a child values that instead of being talked down to and made as they know nothing. I only hope and pray their children do not grow up with inferiority issues.

Jen512 – Ok, she doesn’t always say the nicest things about her kids … and I am sure many other people don’t … and this is what I’m talking about. Momenets that some kids will never know about are now caught on tv, dvd’s and youtube forever. If you have a sensitive child like Mady … don’t you think she is going to be hurt by all the comments her mom has made about her on the show. I know Kate is trying not to be mean .. but if I was 7 years old I would take it that way.
Hmmm – I think they were very poor from the beginning … and if the rumors I have read are true, then they made over $2 million just from the show last year. I have many people who comment here and email me telling me they saw them at their church, or their cousin did, etc … and they accept offerings from the congregation … now, if you have over $2 million, why do that? They have college funds set up by the State of PA. Documented via news stations and their local papers. I think its ok that Kate writes books. But then I see interviews in print and via local tv news where Beth, Kate’s friend said she was the one who wrote the book, and I have seen a video where Kate says she wrote it … I totally think they needed a bigger house, but then I think how there old house had more sq footage per person than my own family, and it just makes me think hmmm… I just question anyone and everything … this is why I question the Gosselins … anyone has a right to make money and provide for your family … but when I see on the show that she is not even at home when her husband is packing and watching 8 kids I wonder how is that good for anyone … other than just for Kate.
Kate k – I miss Aunt Jody, too. Some kids just develop at different ages … I think its normal that 4 year olds still have a little trouble with shoes and pooping.

The problem lies with the fact that they are still pretending to be poor, taking love offerings from people, treating people like they are beneath them (even from the beginning might I add!). If they stopped the show after this season it would be fair, not as many people would be mad because they are now well to do… It is now getting to the point of child exploitation… to the point that kate believes they are “entitled” because she can do what most women can do… pop out babies. q – OMG, thank you for taking Alissa down for me. I would have earlier … but I was at my physical therapy appointment … lets not forget I go there 3 nights a week after my full time job.
Alissa, if I was living in a dream I certainly wouldn’t pick having SEVERAL autoimmune diseases, and living in constant pain. I wouldn’t have chosen a mother who is bipolar, or a father who wasn’t in the picture. I wouldn’t decide to work two jobs for twenty years just to put myself through college, only to get a damn degree that is useless in this economy and get stuck in a dead end job. If I lived in a dream, I would go on disability, like most people with Arthritis eventually do. I would take off my leg braces and start dancing again if I was in a dream. But sweetie, my reality sucks. My whole body hurts and I am in pain all the time. Why not take joy in that alone? You see, you read one thing I wrote months ago and decide I’m an asshole. Granted, you have the right to judge me based on that … but I have spent two years watching Jon and Kate. And when I heard a lot of bad things about Kate … and started seeing more and more of a change in her, and then the only family she spoke to with went “missing,” I thought, why not write something about it? Maybe there are people out there who think the same way as I do? Because I had a “thought” months ago, I’m glad you had a chance to tell me off and tell me to delete my website for it. I watched the show last night, with parts from a number of different episodes.
In the interview segment on the love seat where Kate has switched positions with Jon, Kate looks miserable and so unhappy. She appeared to be nastier toward Jon than ever when “he talked over her.” Why does the filming crew allow this crap to be aired, are they trying to ruin the show.
I loved when they were loving toward one another and the viewers saw the everyday lives of six little angels in their everyday setting.
Probably the first two seasons will turn out to be the classics that we can all play over and over and remember when things were happy and great with the Gosselins.

I enjoy your blog, ghetto girl, and share your opinions of KON. People should not knock others that have chronic illnesses or those that live in chronic pain.
Most of us are being squeezed by the economy but that doesn’t mean we are “jealous” of KON. If Jon and Kate truly reimbursed the State of PA for the health care of Kate’s pregnancy and NICU of the sextuplets plus the nurse for a year+, they might not afforded the million dollar home. The sense of entitlement, the arrogance and lack of humility of Jon and Kate is a bit much to take. They aren’t doing their kids any favors, maybe it is up to the school to teach the kids that they cannot hit others on the head, that they have to take turns or stand in line, they are no more special than their neighbor? We all wish life came with all the freebies, vacations, line jumps and back-stage passes but it doesn’t. We cannot keep re-hashing the worst years of our life and expect people to open their wallets either while laughing all the way to bank.
One cannot keep degrading human beings and expect your actions not to effect that person or your children.

it’s sick, it’s twisted and even that announcer should be taught a lesson in what is and what isn’t child abuse.
grabbing a child and jerking her the way kate did — when their was NO speeding bus barreling down on her — was a physical abusive, agressive act.
but just to top it off, please note the children’s reaction when asked if kate is a good mom.
Mady expertly pretends she didn’t hear the question, as it’s obvious she really doesn’t want to take that one on.
then, the kids sort mumble out a half-hearted… ‘yea’.

First, let me get this out of the way: To Britney, you say “if you don’t like the show, don’t watch it.” And I say, “If you don’t like ghettogirls comments or blog, don’t read them. The last time checked, it was her name on the top of this blog. YOU came to HER site.
Second: OMG! I cannot believe there is ANYONE out there that cannot see that this show is no longer what it once was. I was an absolute diehard fan. I even went so far as to call Kate my hero & mimick some of what she did. I, myself, am anal and have OCD where germs and organization come into play. I even admit that I was once jealous of somethings that family has and is. HOWEVER, I asure you that is so not the case anymore. (OK, maybe the new house & the super white teeth)
A few months ago, around the time they went to Disneyland, I started to question some of Kates behavior. But, I didn’t tell me other die hard Kate fan friends for fear they would think I was jealous, being over judgemental, ect. About a month later however, I started hearing from people that they agreed with what I had not yet vocalized. How could all of these people, who were once true fans be wrong? When I say true fans, I mean we REALLY loved her and the show. Now, it just seems to be common sense. Truly, there are MANY things that are just NOT RIGHT. They have all been mentioned here at some point, so I won’t beat a dead horse. But for those of you who do not agree with what ghettogirl is saying: COME ON! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I leave with this QUOTE from Kate, “Anything that you read on the internet not approved by us is false” I think that speaks for itself. She isn’t even logical anymore, not to mention CLEARLY hiding things.

i try not to chose sides on topics of debate that surface on the internet, i have always loved the show however. i saw the clip of kate gosselin disciplining alexis on the talk show. i must say, any decent mother who knows how to discipline her children would stop them from fighting with another regardless of being on television or not. i was disciplined plenty as a child and sometimes it hurt and i would rub my wrist or whatever to try to show how much it hurt but being disciplined is a part of raising children. i am not calling kate gosselin a saint but she is not abusing her child, i mean please.

This is helping them support thier children. As long as thier children are taken care of why should it matter. The show is not taped 24/7 like they have SAID! I used to love J & K+ 8, but like all of you am saddened by the obvious change and unhappiness in the family. It’s disturbing to hear the negative info or rumours about J & K. I think the show should end, and annual specials be produced instead. Are the children exploited? Yes, but I don’t believe that was J & K’s intention. Was Kate wrong for disciplining her daughter on the talk show by “grabbing” her shoulder? Of course not. I am an elementary school certified teacher with a background in ‘at risk’ children. It is ridiculous and just plain silly to call what Kate did in that moment “abusive”. Mature responses to some of the actual disturbing aspects of the show will garner much more respect.

I love the show, and to tell the truth, Kate is no different then most moms I know. How many times have you snipped at your kids b/c of stress? I know I have. She is OCD for sure, but who wouldn’t be in her situation? I wish I was more OCD, maybe my home would look as tidy as hers and my daily life would be more organized. I really think that you are taking things way too far. They were given an opportunity with the show and decided to take it. The kids are so adorable. And even though Kate is getting more and more up tight, I still enjoy watching the show. It’s very entertaining. Isn’t that the purpose of a show? If everyone is always lovey dovey where’s the drama for you to talk and argue about?

I must admit this is the first time I’ve read any blogs about the Gosselin’s, I just started watching their show a few months ago and, at first, was fasinated with this family. Now I feel as many of you do about some things: Kate is extremely overbearing and self-rightous, with no respect for others. I wonder if Jon ever confronts her off camera about her insulting remarks to him and about him. She finds it funny, I don’t. The children are adorable, but I see behaviorial problems with some of them that are not being addressed by the parents (Mady in particular). Kate’s rule about the kitchen is so ridiculous (remember the day Jon was trying to prepare a Korean meal for the family and she couldn’t stand that he was in “her space.” He should have thrown the food in the trash and gone golfing!
I do believe the children are being exploited and it is not an entitlement that this family be given free clothes, toys, trips, etc etc just because they happened to have multiples. They are now quite wealthy, but Kate still throws a fit that Jon didn’t make a purchase with a coupon and bring the receipt home to her.
To shorten this up, I’ve lost interest in this family and only hope the children will somehow survive the circus their parents have made of their lives.

Wow. I guess I did not realize that this was also an intellectual site. I greatly apologize for not using capitalization and proper words. I thought this was the internet and that people occasionally used slang. You are right I do not know you and you do not know me. As far the millions of other people on the internet they are all entitled to their opinion as is everyone else on this blog. I just merely wondered why it was ok to say things about someone or in this case a family when you don’t personally know them or their situation. All you know is what you see in a very carefully edited half hour television show. I am not jealous. More power to them and personally I give them a lot of credit for not selectively reducing and having the courage to have six children and give then all a chance at life. I guess I don’t get why people have to be so cruel and judgmental to people who are on television. Can’t you take their show for what it is – an edited version of what life is like in their house for your entertainment minus the usually present script. Maybe if you spent a week personally observing the family under their roof with no cameras present you may have a little more insight to go on when you criticize.

At least they are a FAMILY and they are all together. Kate doesn’t have any nannies or anyone look after her children so that she can go out and party, like 99.9 percent of celebrities do. Meagan – When Jon was out at the bar I didn’t see his wife and kids in tow. When Kate travels all over the US I don’t see Jon and gang tagging along. I see episodes now with one parent taking care of the kids and the other off doing something else. If that’s what YOU call together … then you (Or your parents) must have one hell of a marriage. The Gosselins have a babysitter … and people have seen her with them … she’s an asian girl and was spotted with the family during Seasame Street Live, which was filmed in January. Kate could have gotten laid off … rather than collect welfare. Cause that’s what’s really in store for those poor kids. And I’m sure when it’s all said and done all of those kids would give back all the money and free trips just to have a minute of their privacy and childhood back.
That’s why I’m so freaking worried about those kids on TF12. Yeah…there’s a kid with a disability, but what about all the other kids? In the few episodes I’ve seen there was already one where the parents were snickering about how one of the little boys had to take off all his clothes before pooping at the restaurant’s bathroom. Poor kid, that’s going to be embarrassing someday….
Don’t even get me started on the product placement already…and I’m sure the free trips will start pouring in too. I don’t have a problem with people getting free stuff, let me make that clear. I’m just worried that like the Gosselins, all of this will start out with the best intentions, and seem so innocent and lovely and then get really really ugly.

Mady already has a boat load of emotional problems. I feel sorry for her because she’s just a child and doesn’t fully comprehend the entire situation she’s been forced into. This child needs regular attention from parents that aren’t too busy shopping and flaunting everything they own in front of cameras while leaving the kids with a sitter all of the time. They made a big deal out of giving each kid a “day” of their very own. Too bad they didn’t really do it for the sake of their children, otherwise they would have left the television crew behind.

All of the kids are now in school she needs to get off her lazy a** and get a freakin job. As far as I see it Kate has put this whole family through hell complaining about every little thing about what Jon puts them in meaning clothing and shoes come on Kate get a freakin life, THEY ARE KIDS they should be able to ware what they want they should be able to get dirty too. Let them be kids…….and another thing all of these kids are probably going to have to go through some type of counceling.

Mady is very similar to my niece. She’s the same age, is very dramatic (not an insult, IMO), highly intelligent, articulate, but will still throw a tantrum at the drop of a hat.
The main difference (besides the obvious) is that my step sister, her mother, is a bi-polar crack and heroin addict. Really long story short, my parents took over and won temp custody when she was 2 and she lived with us for about a year and half and that was rough. Lots of emotional issues, but also very intelligent, she wasn’t just talking full sentences but full paragraphs at age 2, and also knew how to make soup from a can by herself…we caught her one morning. It was a sad reminder of the kind of neglect she overcame. The tantrums were daily, and pretty much could be over anything. It was all because of the chaotic lifestyle. Luckily she got permanently adopted by her aunt on her dad’s side (he’s another crack addict, so he couldn’t take her either). Now she has a stable family life, and her behavior has improved tenfold.
Now, I am not saying that Kon is on drugs or anything, but they are putting their children through the worst kind of chaotic lifestyle. The spot light will eat you up and spit you out. It has no mercy.

This is no longer a reality show. It was at first when they were struggling with raising all of these kids. I had just given birth to baby number 4 and on a military income, we were tight. I enjoyed watching the show to get ideas on how to manage all of my kids and how to save money and things like that. Now, this show is a crock. Her husband can’t even stand to sit next to her and her kids will eventually grow up to despise her. Sadly, Mady seems to be a mini kate with her attitude and tantrums. Kids learn from example, and Mady is obviously learning from Kate. If TLC wants to portray a real supermom, how about producing a show about a military wife that literally struggles to take care of her family while her husband is off at war? How we have to go on day to day with our lives and put on a good face for our kids. No “helpers” and only getting paid twice a month. Clipping coupons that we have no choice but to use if we want to be able to afford all that we need. You know why they can’t do that? Because as a military family, we have morals and self respect. We don’t see ourselves nor do we try to portray ourselves as heros. I would never take money and put my kids on display like they were some sort of freak show. So their situation was unique at one time, do a one time documentary to tell the story and then drop it. Kate Gosselin didn’t do anything that any other woman on Earth can’t do….she had babies. Big deal. Seems the only person that idolizes her, is the octomom. I pray every night for all the children. They are being abused in a way they don’t understand yet, but as they grow up, they will see it and resent their mother for it.

I love how Mady and Alexis get such a bad wrap but they’re actually pretty normal for kids. Mady can have a bit of a ‘tude but that shouldve been managed with good parenting. All they did was ignore her. And as for Alexis, she’s just goofy gal! I know so many kids like her and she’s completely normal! I mean, did you kind of notice that in the beginning, Mady got on camera pretty frequently and now the more Kate puts her down, the less camera time she gets? I remember quite a few episodes where it would be Cara and the tups and then Mady would have like…a five second blip in the episode. And the only time they’ll actually show her is when she’s having a fit. I know that she’s not like this all the time. In the Globetrotter episode, Mady is on camera for a few seconds and Kate–as if she KNOWS or something– steps in her shot and starts embarrassingly brushing her hair, and then the camera crew steps in front of her and stuff! Or they cut her out of the shots!

Brittney, I definitely don’t think they should continue the show forever. I think one more season, and it’s history. TLC will probably do twice-a-year updates or whatever, but the weekly show is done after season 5.

How can they film the kids three or four days a week? Come fall, they will all be in school full time. I find having a show where six kids, the same age, doing the same thing in the same outfits BORING. Now that they have moved into the mansion, the filming takes place in the kitchen, basement playroom or out in the yard. Who wants to watch Kate take the kids to the dentist or shopping?
Jon doesn’t go to work anymore. He stays home so that he can take care of the kids so that Kate can go do talks and book signings. I think their lifestyle sets a poor example for their kids. It is sort of a wealthy “WELFARE” lifestyle. No one has to work and everything comes to them for free. Unfortunately for the 8 kids, they won’t all be able to get married and have their own shows.
Did anyone notice Jon’s forehead on the show finale? His temples looked all red on both sides. I think Kate let him have it for his barhopping and she threw him onto the rug and dragged him causing rug burns.
Not too many viewers, excepting Octomon, will find any relevance in raising a litter. I think shows with twins or perhaps triplets might be more representative of the viewing public.
This show gives wacky, psycho, unbalanced, lazy greedy women like Nadya Suleman the idea that if they too had a litter that they too would get a show and all the freebies.
It is really nice to have your kids one or two at a time. They get all the love and attention that they need. There is no way that the G kids will get enough personal attention. All the kids need special time not just Cara who gets to fly away and go skiing.

PLEASE… these kids aren’t exploited. they all are happy, healthy, well behaved, extremly lucky kids… get a grip. listen- 6 kids at once was a surprise to them. Modern medicine and all aside, even with that most people still end up having none or even 1 child at a time. If this wasn’t true.. the gosslings wouldn’t be interesting. And does the money that they recieve not allow their children TONS of experiences .. trips … surprises that they would otherwise never recieve?? Would they be able to even get their kids 6 bikes at once? Or pay for 3 karates, 5 dance classes? No. So they see that the kids aren’t hurt.. the film crew is now family. the kids are HAPPY (which is important) and I think Kate is loud mouthed and straight forward, but that is some people’s nature. After 8 kids, I think that you kind of get to a point where you know what you want. The kids now have a bigger house, more room for them, more room to play, a pool, more yard, room for dogs. I’m sure all their college is paid up and now mom & dad can afford an used car or two in the future (at the end of the day, they aren’t millionaires regardless of what you think.) I’m sure in the next 29 years these kids aren’t going to be saying “geez, mom & dad really screwed us up.” I think rather they will all have self confidence, won’t worry over shyness and always be able to say ” I did that, I saw that, I went there.” Which is more than what half of the kids of people in this country will be able to say, mine included. now as for an exploited child, Suri Cruise seems to hate the camers, the attention and being paraded around…

Suri is a victim of photographers, and further society who wants to get a good look at her. I do not feel celebrity kids should be photographed at all. Yet they are constantly. First off: I would like to say that it’s really funny that you all are complaining about how much publicity this family gets yet you seem to be obsessed with it yourselves. This, in its self, is one major reason why TLC wont cancel the show. They make too money off of people who watch to make fun of it.
Second: Has anyone read these links and looked at the creditability of the websites? The first two are only there to show us that people don’t like the show. Okay… I don’t like the show lost and I could find the same stuff on that show. The ABC news link needs to be read again. It never said that the Gosselin’s contacted the show. Here is what it says, “The show began when producers contacted the couple through their Web site. Two hour-long documentaries followed, and then, “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” now in its third season.” Seems to say quite the opposite… As for what Jon said on Oprah; wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t you think about how you were going to afford these children? And wouldn’t you worry about your current children? Wouldn’t you be scared? The next site isn’t even valid anymore… also Kate couldn’t work being that pregnant, but if you know anything creditbility, you would know that you need references when applying for another job and to have been fired for not showing up would have hurt her long run. Also, off of a nursing salary they still would have qualified for welfare in that large of a family. And lets remember that Jon was fired because the company didn’t want to foot the cost of health insurance. That isn’t his fault… Funny the next link doesn’t work either… Need I go on?
Third: Who are you to judge? Children go through this life without anything. Have you seen what is happening in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya? Do you see how those kids live? The Gosselin kids all are well cared for and have not been harmed. I like how you point out that Kate is hard on Mady but what did you say? When Mady gets caught with drugs. Look you do it too. Mady is the Gosselin’s hard child. It doesn’t mean Kate doesn’t love her!
Forth: This is the first honest family I’ve seen. Did any of you have perfect childhoods? Every family is flawed and this family isn’t afraid to show it. They are real; not fictional characters in a movie. They are doing what they need to do to get by and now they are successful at it. The children are going to have a good life. They are going to have money for college and be able to grow up better off then most the children in this world.
Fifth: I encourage everyone to look at this with an open mind and read up on the family if they really want to have opinions. Read happy sites and negative ones; as long as you read both. Also remember that there are people out there starting rumors just have something “cool” to talk about. Be real people- most of the sites on the internet cannot be trusted.
Sixth: I am not saying they are the best people in the world. I am just saying that you need to check your facts and try living your own life instead tearing down someone else’s.

So, you are a young mom. You identify with Kate, she’s small town, religious, and cute in your mind. So you spend time online searching chatter about her. You find my page and explode your verbal garbage here. Hmm. Its funny as hell you say you hate the show LOST and you imply that you could find the same gossip about those actors. Hmmm. The only similarity I see with KON and LOST is that they both filmed in Hawaii.
All of the links were to valid news sources at the time of the post and that is why I wrote this post, for people to read them and to make up their own minds and to discuss it here. I found it unusual that an unemployed Jon created a website about his children before they were born. And, I’m sorry, nurses I know here make well over $70,000, which is almost TWICE the inclome of the national family average. No doubts in my mind that they would NOT have been put on welfare. Wick and stamps yes, but not welfare checks. But, you know, I only grew up on it myself so I guess you can say I’m not a true expert.
As for the perfect family you claim the Gosselins are, honey, then you grew up ghetto just like me. Since I lived a life of child abuse and domestic violence this is why I caught interest in the show in the first place.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about things, Jon and Kate included. However, if these two people really bother you all THIS much, why keep watching the show? Why keep researching all the bad things you can find about them? Why care? Kate has her moments that she yells at Jon or the kids, but don’t we all? Ours just don’t happen to be broadcast for the world to see. And yes, you all are going to say, that’s the problem, they are letting the world see. That is for them to decide, not for us. None of us walk in their shoes or know them on a real, personal basis, other than what we hear or see in the media….the MEDIA people?? Don’t we all watch the news daily and discover how eveything is spun to show whatever side they want to show? This show is probably spun and edited the same way, to get the best ratings possible. That’s how they make their money! So before you all go balistic at Jon and Kate, stop and think for a moment that it might now be exactly as it seems. Nothing really is!!

You are wrong. Jon was fired for doing a side-job on company time on the company computers. That is called “stealing time.” He tried to fight it but the state sided with his employer. They had documented material on his actions. I have only watched this show about half a dozen times. My sole reason for viewing it was due to the commercials I have seen on TLC which piqued my curiosity. Perhaps this does not qualify me to comment on the show and those who have posted defending Mrs. Gosselin’s parenting techniques and organizational skills are correct. This is something I would not know, not being a fan of the show and not watching it on a regular basis. When I did watch the show, however, I was appalled at the way Mrs. Gosselin acted towards her husband and children.
I decided to learn a little bit more about the show and found a plethora of blogs and fan sites. What I found was there were many more sites complaining about the show and the family than there were supporting them. I learned that Jon and Kate travel around to churches on speaking engagements asking for “love gifts” to help support their family. Yet they make over $2 million a year from TLC alone, their $1million house was a gift, their trips are paid for, the state of PA paid for their nurse the first year, major corporations give them toys, clothes and food, they have a gourmet chef working for them, they were given their SUV and Kate can afford to go top one of the top salons in the world to purchase a wedding dress for her second ceremony to renew her vows in Hawaii.
Then I read posts by people supporting these frauds saying “you’re just jealous” because of what they have. Am I jealous? Yeah I am. I live in a multi-million dollar house in Sedona, AZ; one of the country’s most exclusive communities. The difference is I worked hard all my life to be able to live here, and get this Mr. Gosselin, I did it as an IT professional. It can be done. OK someone might say, I didn’t have 8 kids, no I didn’t I had six and I sent each and every one of them to private schools and to college. Three of them went to Ivy League schools. There are plenty of other people like me out there as well. No one gave us a free ticket in life; we worked for all we had. Yet this couple makes public statements saying they are owed everything they get because they decided to have a litter rather than a family. I find this offensive.
What I find even more offensive, however, is the fact they collect “love gifts” on their speaking tours. This couple, who is making more money in one year than the people who come to hear them speak will make in their life time, are claiming poverty and taking money from these poor people. I don’t know about all the Gosselin defenders out there, but where I come from this is considered fraud, or at least misrepresentation.
While I do applaud any couple who makes the decision to have multiples and I do realize there is a lot of work involved, they will need help and gifts are appreciated, I do not feel that any couple is deserving of gifts and free stuff because they decided to have multiples. This couple, however, seems to think because they made the decision to have multiple, they are owed the world. They were the ones who made the decision to get themselves into this situation and ultimately they are the ones responsible for making it work. It is just sad to see they have opted to exploit the situation and take advantage of trusting people to do so.

Some of us read. I won’t criticize something I don’t know about. I won’t watch the show but I don’t mind reading what others say, good and bad. It seems that the people who love this show are absolutely blind to the “reality” of it all.
The fact is that kids are being hurt and nobody is doing anything about it. The stalkerish people LOVE this family and want to be Kate’s BFF. The family has nothing to fear from those of us that are concerned about the kids. They need to fear the adorers that think Kate is Mother Theresa.

There are lots of shows that showcase families, but I don’t often hear about them being put down. Is it b/c LPBW is about people that are dwarfs and no one wants to offend them? They are showcasing their children just the same. The only difference is that they aren’t mulitples.(besides the twins). I don’t know, perhaps I am making too much of these posts. Until Jon and Kate start abusing their children or there are constant meltdowns b/c of the cameras around, this show isn’t going anywhere. Let’s deal with it and move on.

Amanda – Those other shows show people dealing with different types of issues beside having a lot of healthy kids. LPBW shows up dwarfs have normal lives and they even have their own charities. And their kids are older. Table for 12 just started, and they have a handicapped daughter and their dad is a civil servant and they raised all of their kids for years without turning towards tv for help. I’ve never seen a show with someone with cerebral palsey, and it can show how its hard to have that type of condition. I assure you, no matter what type of person, if I feel it necessary to talk about them, I will talk about them. That is why I can easily say here that Scott needed to leave Idol ’cause he stunk. Doesn’t matter if he was blind. Stink is stink. I’m trying to move past the Gosselins but the public still is reading old posts. I can’t help that many people feel the same way as I do, and some who don’t find their way here to tell us to stop feeling the way we feel.

Abuse comes in many different forms. Because parents are not severely beating their children, locking them in closets or refusing to feed them does not necessarily mean they are not abusing them. Denying a child the ability to grow up as a normal child is a form of abuse as well. Unfortunately for the Gosselin children being in front of a camera is the only life they know. Unlike the younger children in the Duggar, Rolloff and Hayes families, the Gosselin children do not have older siblings to teach them how to be children. Traditionally children growing up in front of a camera turn out with deep rooted problems. For every Shirley Temple, who became an ambassador and politician as an adult, you have ten Dana Platos who end up broke, on drugs and in her case dead.
Secondly, if you feel that people seem to complain about the Gosselins more than these other families it is probably for two main reasons. 1) At least one parent, if not both parents, in the other families work(s) for a living. None of them quit their jobs just because they got a TV show. (No I do not considering flying all over the country, leaving my children at home, so I can go beg money from church congregations to be work. I consider it to be what it is – BEGGING!) 2) Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe the Duggars, Rolloffs or Hayeses have said on national TV or in the media that they deserve free things because they have three sets of multiples or because they or their children are physically challenged or handicapped or they have enough offspring to form their own small island nation. To the best of my knowledge all three of these families take responsibility for the care of their children.
Perhaps, Amanda, these are the primary reasons there are more anti-Gosselin posts than there are anti-Duggar, Rolloff or Hayes posts. I would also like to add, in response to the poster who said they feel bad about the Gosselin children growing up and reading all the “mean” things said about their family, that the Gosselin children have no one to thank but their parents. Had their parents not chosen to exploit their family situation and place the family in the public spotlight, then there would not be “mean” posts all over the internet about them.

You know, these shows are supposed to meant to inspire people. LPBW inspired me in a way to never make excuses for something I think I can’t do. The Roloffs are amazing people. I truly believe that they aren’t in this for the money, but they are in it to spread awareness about little people and their way of life. Also, did you see when Matt himself went to Iraq to help Iraqi dwarf children? Truly inspirational!
The Duggars have inspired me to raise my children in a much different way. Michelle alone has inspired me to try and be more patient with my kids. I have to admit though, there are sometimes I wish I could just shake her and say “oh come on….scream at them already!” Her and Jim Bob inspired my husband and I to try and live debt free. And you know what…..with a little hard work we live off a military pay check with 4 small kids and the only debt we have is our house!! Life is so good for us.
With that said, I am an Army wife with a husband off at war and even I DON’T believe that society owes me anything! My family is among the hundreds of thousands that make sacrifices for this country every single day and yet I don’t feel anyone owes me!
All KON inspires me to do is turn off my television. When the show first started, it was truly a reality show, but all it has turned into is Kates 15 minutes of fame. I wonder what is gonna happen when all of those kids are in school full time and there is no longer any thing interesting for them to film? Already it can get boring at times. Kate has turned into a self proclaimed Diva. She claims to be religious, doesn’t she realize making a false idol of herself is a sin? It really is sickening!

I worked for one of the major world financial institutions developing, maintaining and updating security software. (I was the guy you were cursing out when the system went down at 9PM PST because I had security updates running at midnight EST.)
Another reason not to pick on the other shows. I don’t recall seeing photos of an obviously drunk Jim Bob Duggar partying in college bars with 18 year old coeds being plastered all over the internet. Although if I were married to Kate I would probably be right next to Jon. Whick brings me to my final thought.
If you want a guy’s point opf view, here’s mine: From what I have seen of that woman, if she were my wife, I would have left her tied to a stake out in the middle of the desert years ago. Coyotes can be very efficient.

How dare you presume to know anything about anyone who has posted here? I raised six children of my own, the youngest being 2 when my wife was killed by a drunk driver while she was on her way to work. I worked very hard all my life to get where I am today and am extremely proud of what I did. I instilled a work ethic in all of my kids and they all attended college and all have very good jobs. I was fortunate that I had family and friends, who I might add I did not alienate. I also know how to cook, clean, sew and shop for a large family. I was fortunate that I was able to retire early and, since my retirement have dedicated my life, resources and talents to charities, specifically disaster relief. I am currently working on a massive project to aid the people affected by the extreme spring flooding. Don’t presume to know anything about anyone because you are showing your ignorance.
If you actually took the time to read what people are saying in these posts you would see the reason people do not care for Kate Gosselin is because of her attitude. No one is saying she does not deserve credit for choosing to have multiples, nor is anyone begrudging her the chance to make money to support her family by writing books. I think everyone gives her credit for doing that.
What people do not like is the fact that she has publicly stated that she is owed all the free things she gets because of having sextuplets, especially when we all work or have worked hard for a living. TLC has three other reality shows about families currently airing. All three of those families were well established before getting television programs. Jon and Kate were not established as having eight children and exploited their situation. This is what angers people. No one gave the Duggars or the Hayeses their homes or gave the Rolloffs their farm. They all worked for what they have. TLC is just icing on the cake for them. Jon and Kate exploited their celebrity to have a house given to them, to get free trips for advertising the destination location and free merchandise for advertising the product lines. They have a personal organic chef and a nanny, neither of which they pay for. They have a custom SUV which was given to them. None of the other families on TLC have this and neither do the posters. As far as living off of mommy and daddy goes, isn’t Jon from a rather affluent family and haven’t he and Kate milked that for what it was worth too?
Granted the Duggars do go around to churches to help supplement their incomes, but they also have a family orchestra and play concerts. Kate goes around to churches speaking about how hard it is raising eight children while those children sit at home with a nanny. She also cries about how financially hard it is and accepts “love offerings” to help her financially. After this she goes back to her $1million plus house, while these people go back to their homes and struggle to support themselves. She is taking money form people who can not afford it and this is hypocrisy. This is what angers people about her.
And, while I am on the subject of hypocrisy, you seem to be a hypocrite yourself. You berate people for the opinions they have expressed, yet in doing so do exactly what you are criticizing us for. Add to this you can not even express yourself in an eloquent manner; you have to resort to name calling and foul language. Everyone has a right to their own opinions and to express them freely, you included. However, if you want people to respect you and your opinions, I would suggest you think about what you are going to post before you post it, end the name calling and assumptions about people and clean up the gutter mouth. You know children can access this site and I would hate to think Mady might Google her name, find this site, and ask Kate what B.S. is because she read your post.

I am confused about something. Isn’t this a wesbsite to discuss wether or not Jon and Kate intended from the beginning to make money off their kids? If that is true, there should be no name calling or hurtful words being said. I’ll bet if that’s what you want to do, you could find another place to do just that. So far, the majority of the comments left, have been remarks on the show. And as far as I was concerned, I thought that was what’s do be done here. I don’t agree w/half these people. Personally, I watch the show and I enjoy it. Although folks are right when they say Kate speaks harshly to Jon and Mady. I don’t have blinders on that badly. I personally, do not like Jon or Kate. I think the way the conduct themselve’s is horrible. Dont they realize that they have camera’s in front of them? And..as a medic..I have my own concerns of how these children are being treated. For example..lying a sick child on a cold floor with a bucket. What happen to a bed? They have tons of money and all they could do was lay that child on a cold dirty floor?? She iloates her children from everyone who comes in contact with them. Friends, family, everyone. Someone said ealier its liek a car accident. You cant help but watch sometimes. But, everytime I watch..It makes me mad that these 2 parenst are allowed to conduct themselves this way. What if I treated my sick kids like that? What would happen to me? I know..someone would call CPS on me and Id have alot of explaining to do. This woman is not right. She needs help.

Something sparked my curiosity, so I watched the recent episode, “Gosselins go Green” and I have to say, all Kate did was re affirm my hatred for her. First off, she made it known that she was only tolerating the going green process because it would save her money and she rolled her eyes at the thought of helping to save the Earth. She was very rude and demeaning to the crew that was there to do the work on her house. She showed no interest in learning about how it worked, or why it was important. All she cared about was saving money. Her kids were really excited about it and eager to learn. She could have at least pretended to be excited about it for their sake. But as always, everything was about Kate. I honestly think they aired her pouting and complaining more than they did the whole going green process. It was sad. I pray that the Hayes family doesn’t turn into this. They are a wholesome, hard working family. Their show, is reality, not the Gosselins. I have to say many of the shows on TLC are no longer reality. I can see signs even of the Duggars changing their ways. I am seeing less and less frugality on their part. These shows need to be kept to a one or two season minimum. That keeps them real. All they have done is turned these people into celebrities and “normal” families can no longer relate to them. Kate seriously disgusted me last week. Her temper tantrums are worse than her kids’.

From the begining there was something about Kate the piqued me. At first I did not know what it was until after my sister who loves the show actually made me sit down and watch a full epi. with her. The light bulb came on I did not like Kate decause she was and is a bossy, pesomistic, dictator. Jon is a weak, pushover, submisive. The kids are stuck in the middle of a dictator is rarly if ever satisfied and a submisive who is jumping on command and sulks, moaning and groaning. I can understand how people thought of the show as cute and relate to this family as being just like anyone else, but the days of those epi. are long gone. The parents have been biten by fame game bug. It is about maintaining their 15 mins. of fame and getting as much $$$, free goodies, and attention for the parents mainly Kate and less so for the kids. I understand you point of view on the dark side of child stars, but I cannot agree that the kids in this case will be the same. I am not saying that they will not suffer at all, I just think it is going to be dif. because the child stars you listed were script actores whereas these kids are reality TV show kids. The kids in movies were acting and were expected to take on dif. personalities with each new role they took on whereas these kids are not acting like someone else they are being themselves. Child stars whos lives turn out badly usually suffer from personality disorder because they were always acting like someone else and never givin the chance to develope their own personality. And you are so right as long as people continue watching the show and putting out money for things connected to Jon and Kate plus 8 (including the products they are paid to pitch on the show now) this situation is going to continue to spiral down until it crashes and burns and the major casualties will be the kids.

I find it amusing that posters like Kim, Nicole and Jenny are telling the bloggers on here to mind their own business and stop criticizing Jon and Kate. I find this amusing because you, and people like you, fail to remember that Jon and Kate Gosselin are a couple who chose to put themselves and their children in the public eye by being on TV. What you also fail to remember is that anyone who chooses to place themselves in the public eye; whether it be a politician, a celebrity or a TV family like the Gosselins; is going to be open to both praise as well as criticism. What is particularly sad about this case, however, is that the children did not choose to be in the public eye, they were placed there by their parents.
As far as it being ridiculous to judge Kate, or that Kate or any mother, would use her children for fame I have three words: Rose Thompson Hovick. In case you do not know who she was, she was the mother of actress June Havoc and her sister famed burlesque queen and author Gypsy Rose Lee, who Rose forced into stripping for a living at age 16. She was the basis for the character Mama Rose in the musical Gypsy and known as the ultimate stage mother. Next we have Lilian Rita Dolliver Coogan. If you don’t know who she was, she was the mother of actor Jackie Coogan, best known as Uncle Fester on the Addams Family. As a child actor Coogan earned in excess of $4 million. All of his earnings were spent by his mother. This resulted in the Coogan Law being enacted in California. These are just two examples of how a mother can exploit their children for either fame, fortune or both. I think these two examples succinctly explain what a mother is capable of and why people feel they can judge someone like Kate.
As far as being on TV, no one is saying they should not have a show. I agree with Jenny that, “the fact that they were offered a T.V show with financial support is a blessing.” No one is saying they do not deserve perks either for having multiples or for being on TV. Celebrities get perks all the time, such as the actress who walks down the red carpet in the latest Versace creation which was given to her for wearing it or who stays at the best hotel in town and has a limo at their disposal because they are a guest on a talk show for fifteen minutes. No one is saying that Kate should not do the lecture circuit either, I am sure she is an inspiration to a lot of people.
What the bloggers who are complaining are saying is that the Gosselins have made having multiples into a career. Neither Jon nor Kate have a real job. In fact Jon doesn’t work at all and Kate travels the country telling people how hard it is raising multiples while the kids stay at home in their multi million dollar home with the nanny and private chef. If Cornelius and Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt had traveled the country lecturing on how hard it was to raise more than a dozen children people would have laughed and they would have come under very strong criticism. Since it is Kate Gosselin who is traveling, however, she should be applauded.
While my analogy may seem a bit extreme it really isn’t if you think about it. Cornelius and Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt had multiple million dollar homes. Jon and Kate Gosselin have multiple million dollar homes. Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt was able to travel on shopping expeditions while her husband stayed in New York and worked. Kate Gosselin is able to travel around on shopping expeditions while Jon stays at home and works. Oh wait, that’s right, Jon doesn’t work He goes out drinking with college co-eds while Kate is out of town. (I refer to Kate’s designer wedding dress she acquired in one of New York’s top salons.) Cornelius and Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt had servants to take care of their children. Jon and Kate Gosselin have servants to take care of their children.
Now that I have covered the similarities I will address the differences. Cornelius Vanderbilt was the wealthiest man in the world during his life-time, Jon Gosselin certainly is not. Cornelius Vanderbilt worked to earn his fortune from the time he was 12 until the day he died. Kate Gosselin had twins and sextuplets. Cornelius and Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt paid for their mansions out of the money he earned. Jon and Kate Gosselin were given their mansions as publicity stunts. Finally, Cornelius and Sophia Johnson Vanderbilt were philanthropists who established, among other things, Vanderbilt Library and Vanderbilt University. Kate Gosselin travels the country on speaking engagements, telling how hard it is to raise 8 kids while her kids stay at home with the servants. For doing this, she and accepts “love offerings” from people who can not afford it.
Speaking of the homes that were given to the Gosselins, let’s talk about the perks the Gosselins receive. No one on here is saying that families like the Gosselins who have multiples don’t deserve perks like diapers, clothing, bottles and formula and even a car. Any family who has just had multiple are going to be in need of help and most people would applaud corporations for donating much needed items. What the bloggers here are complaining about is where should the perks end? Does a family deserve not one but two mullion dollar homes just because they have 8 kids? Should a woman receive a $10k plus wedding gown from one of the top salons in the country for a renewal ceremony? Should a couple receive a free trip to Hawaii to renew their vows? According to US Census Statistics there are 1,169,000 families in the US with seven or more children. How many of these families were given their own TV show, a free mini-van, two multimillion dollar homes, a book deal, a personal chef, nanny and housekeeper, a trip to Hawaii, a designer wedding dress and a trip to Disneyworld and all for no reason other than the fact there are seven or more children? I can only name one. This is what the bloggers are complaining about.
Finally, you are all right, none of us know the Gosselins personally. What we do know, and comment on, is what we see on TV. What is ironic, however, is you all seem to know a lot about us and our lives. You say we are all idiots, that we neglect our children to be on line constantly, that our lives are so messed up we should be trying to make sense of them before we criticize a TV show, we don’t know what it is like having numerous children and that we can’t handle strong women.
I, for one, am retired and had six children, all of whom are grown and out of the house. I don’t know where you got the idea that I am constantly on line and neglecting my kids. As far as being an idiot goes, I have a master’s degree from an Ivy League school and I have been complimented on here for the eloquence of my posts so I am not quite sure where you got the idea that I am an idiot. Personally, if I were you, I would take a look at my posts with their profanity, misspellings and lack of grammar before calling people idiots. Finally I have a very rich, full and rewarding life so I don’t know where you got the idea my life was messed up.
Yes you are correct; we all could learn a thing or two from Kate. I know I certainly have. I have learned that if you have multiples you will never have to work again. People will give you things like multi-million dollar homes, free trips and designer clothes. You will have a household staff that you do not need to pay for and you will be given a TV show. Wow, Cowboy! You really do have a way with words. You definetely are a terrific writer. I admit, I was one of the writes defending Jon Kate, but the more I am learning and the more I hear about them in the press lately….I think I am going to have seriously think about why I enjoy the show so much. I was unaware of all the “freebies” they get. I think I mostly tuned in to see where they were going to go next. I understand that being apart of a reality show, you are going to have trips paid for to promote the show. And alot of places will pay for them to come to their venue to promote themselves. I’m not really annoyed with that. I only have two kids and some days I feel like I have ten, but it doesn’t mean I don’t work as hard as mother of multiples. My husband works 60 hours a week and we live well. It’d be nice to have some things handed to us. You really put into perspective what’s going on w/your comparisons to the Vanderbuilts. Thank you Cowboy, for shedding light on the situation.

I feel for the family, I had 4 children under the age of 5, one 4, twins 2 1/2, and a newborn, it was very, very hard. But I can say back in the day, I had little help, except for my husband and a few relatives. I even worked full time when I just had three children, and they were very small. I worked as a Nurse, and worked the day shift. So would have to get up at 4am to get dressed, get the kids fed, get them to daycare, before I went to work at the hospital at 7am. It did effect our marriage alot, but we always seem to work it out, and have been married 33 yrs. I hope they can work it out…

The show is wonderful. And no, they did not plan on raising their children in the spotlight. They were given this great opportunity. Seriously, get over it. The negative things all you people say about this beautiful family mean nothing. The show isn’t going anywhere. Stop criticising people for the way they live. If you have nothing better to do than sit around and post ridiculous things like this, then you really need to get a life. Start by getting a job.

Lynn, the opportunity they were given was to film a one hour documentary about the pregnancy and a follow one hour documentary after the birth. It was after this, when they saw they could make money off of the situation, that the Gosselins negotiated with TLC for a weekly series. If this “beautiful family” did not plan on raising their children in the spotlight, then why did they sign the contracts with TLC? They must have known that by signing the contracts their children would be forced into the spotlight. Did Jackie Coogan’s mother think that by signing the contracts for little Jackie to make movies with Charlie Chaplin or be in the Our Gang series he would not be in the spotlight or did she see cash cow?
As far as the show not going anywhere, do you really anticipate watching “The Gosselins – The College Years,” or “Jon and Kate and Eight Prom Dates?” The show is going to end, either when the ratings drop or when the kids get too old to be cute anymore. The sextuplets will be going to school next year and while I do anticipate the “Jon and Kate and Kindergarten Gate,” special where we see a teary eyed Kate packing her adorable little six ones to school for the first time (despite the fact she packs them off to pre-school now) I do not anticipate many more episodes after that. What we will probably be seeing, however, is the periodic “E – Where Are They Now” special about them.
As far as getting a life and a job, you seem to know a lot about the posters here. I, for one, worked very hard to establish and grow a very successful company which I sold, permitting me to retire at age 45. Since then I have dedicated my life to charitable works. I also worked for everything I have. I was not given my million dollar house by TLC, I paid for it with my earnings. I also raised six wonderful children, all close in age, virtually by myself after my wife was killed in an auto accident. If anyone needs to get a job, it is Jon and Kate Gosselin, who have made a career out of having two sets of multiples.
When J&K+8 first aired people liked it because it showed the struggles of an average middle class family with eight children. The Gosselins did the same things the rest of us did. They went on picnics in the park, they shopped at Wal-Mart for bulk items and they stressed over finances. Then sometime in season three and throughout season four many viewers noticed they had changed. The Gosselins, especially Kate, had developed a snobbish attitude. The show went from being one the general public could relate to, to a show about a wealthy family with servants, which got a lot of perks for being on TV. We already had shows like this such as the ones featuring the families of George Foreman, Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. The difference is that Foreman, Osbourne and Simmons made their fortunes through their talents and business investments, not because they had eight kids.
This is a TV show about a family with eight kids, which has chosen to put themselves in the public spotlight. They are going to be open to criticism because of it. There are three other shows on TLC about families, as well. The difference is, J&K+8 seem to garner the most criticism on the blogs. Don’t you think there may be a reason for that? In my opinion you are the one who needs to get a life, if you have nothing better to do than to criticize people for expressing their opinions over public figures, a right all of us in the free world have the right to do.

Kim, have you ever thought that people watch TV shows for various reasons? J.R. Ewing was voted the “Most Hated Man on TV,” as was Erica Kane voted the “Most Hated Woman. While these are both soap opera characters and not reality TV shows, Dallas and All My Children held tops ratings slots because the lead characters were so hated and people wanted to see what they would do next. If you would like an example from reality TV, then it would have to be American Idol’s Simon Cowell. Just because a show has high ratings it does not mean peole are watching it because they love the characters or persons involved: it may just be the opposite. This could account for why they are so many more blogs criticizing the Gosselins that there are supporting them. Have YOU ever thought of that?

Yes, I see very unhappy kids on TV. I saw a sign on the twins door “no cameras,” I saw a boy say to a camera man “the puppy doesn’t want to be filmed” (often kids use animals to express how they feel). I see one daughter who is so miserable that they’ve decided to “highlight” her tantrums and all over the internet people create site saying how rotten she is.
But you are right. FANS WANT TO SEE MORE FAMILY!! Way to go! How will you feel when one of the kids breaks down? You can thank yourself and your need to watch the kids live their life under the spotlights.

Actually, as far as I am concerned, you are wrong. I did enjoy the show when it first aired and would watch it from time to time. It was interesting to see how a large family coped with the stress of having multiples, the financial burdens involved and the affects it had on the marriage. It was a great study in psychology.
Unfortunately, the show changed, as did the attitudes of the contributors, specifically Kate Gosselin. The show is no longer interesting and should no longer be called Jon and Kate Plus 8, it should just be called Kate. Yes I do watch it from time to time, but I do so if I see something in the teasers which interests me such as the Going Green episode. Unfortunately, when I do watch even these shows I am disappointed. No I do not love watching J&K+8, when I do watch it, it is with disdain.

Wheather I have children of my own to watch grow is none of your buisness, I don’t plan on posting up facts about my personal life here. Everyone here is entitled their own opinion which is why there are many “agrees” and “disagrees” on this blog. As much as some folks are saying “I stopped watching a long time ago” I see you find time to post up heavy concerns about what Jon and Kate do with their family.

No one is complaining if the Gosselins get offered a free trip, or a free vehicle, or free diapers, clothes, bottles and formula. Everyone is fine with that, it helps when you have a large family and you are struggling. What people are complaining about is the amount and nature of the free things the Gosselins are receiving in lieu of the fact they are NOT struggling any more. Free mansions, free $20,000 designer wedding dresses, free plastic surgery, free cosmetic dentistry, free housekeepers, chefs and nannies and most of all free money. They earn an estimated $175k a month in love offerings, sales of photographs and sales of autographs. (Did you know they charge $20 each to sign one of their books?) That’s over $2 million a year and all in cash. How much of that do you think is reported to the IRS? When the Gosselins fall, and they will, it will most likely be brought on by an IRS investigation and it will be Kate sitting in Leona Helmsley’s hot seat. If you actually took the time to read what is being said in the posts and not just what you want to read you might ascertain this.
That said why don’t you find something better to do with YOUR time and leave the posters alone? What would you do if the scales fell off your eyes and you saw the Gosselins for what they actually are, probably the same thing as us, so leave us alone and get a life?

If I had to show off my family for trips, we wouldn’t be going. You don’t know us, but I assure you, we’d never put our kids on display like that. Take my word. Kate Gosselin, whose adventures raising twins and sextuplets are chronicled on the hit TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight, is fighting back at reports that she has been having a more-than-platonic relationship with Steve Neild, a bodyguard who frequently travels with her and her family.
Two weeks after stories linked her husband, Jon Gosselin, with a 23-year-old school teacher, Kate says she is now the target of tabloid lies. “The next story coming out from the animals that stalk us is about our security person and his family,” Kate tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Already the allegations they’re making about me are disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable, and I am horrified.”
“These are people who absolutely love us and want to see us through to the end,” Kate says of Neild and his family. “Of course, both of them travel with us at times, and we’ve spent holidays together, because, in this situation, your circle grows smaller and smaller, and it’s very natural to become friends with your manager, your publicist, your security team … they’re the only people you have left. And now they’re coming under fire.”
With few close companions, and her marriage to Jon hitting a rough patch, Kate says she is terrified that this latest round of stories will drive away the friends she and her family have left. “I’m totally panicking, and thinking, ‘We are going to lose our last set of friends.’ I keep calling them, begging, ‘Seriously, I’m so sorry. Don’t run away from us.’ They keep saying, ‘We’re fine, we’re fine.’ But they have paparazzi in front of their house. It’s so upsetting.”
Most troubling to her is the realization “we opened our world to this,” she says, adding, “but we willingly made a conscious decision to put this out there. Our friends and family did not. I had no idea we would potentially take down the people that we love around us.”
She adds: “It’s like saying, ‘Thanks for your support, let me sic the paparazzi on you.’ It’s very very difficult. It leaves us, essentially, alone and friendless. It’s terrible.
Ultimately, Kate says she does not know what she can do to stop the insanity. “The scary thing for me is [the tabloids] are going to take information and create a story. It’s a matter of, ‘When will they stop?’ They’re going to keep going, and they’ll make up stuff to connect the dots.”
Kate clears the air about the other tabloid reports – including her feelings about her husband’s bar-hopping and her plans for her family’s future – in the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.

OMG poor Kate. I feel so terribly bad for her. How could she possibly have foreseen that having a weekly Reality TV series, traveling around the country on speaking engagements and book signing tours, appearing on syndicated talk shows like Oprah and appearing on other Reality TV shows would put you in the public spotlight, open you up to criticism and lead to having the paparazzi following you, your friend and family around as wlel as having stories about you and your family appear in the tabloids? I know if I were offered the same thing I would not expect it to happen.

Sedonna – You have to expect that you are going to get attention if you are on a reality tv show. By 2009, we all know how it works. I mean, I don’t even use my name and I’m just an unpaid blogger. I don’t put up pictures of my kids or husband, and I barely talk about them here, because they want their privacy. Of course I want to give it to them as well. I am an open book myself, and I can truly appreciate the fact that Kate wanted to show us how hard it is raising that money kids. I do get that. And I loved the show for years! But, she had to realize in the end what the cost of that was going to be. All my haters on here never mention that I loved the show way back when!!!

Amanda – Well, people who lay low get less talked about. It sounds like that is what they want! Like, when Brit went into seclusion, we didn’t hear about her. I think they should go off the air for the familys sake. All of this traveling and non-alone time has to be a huge strain on their marriage. And, they could go back to work in their persceptive fields if the talk circuit dried up. Computers and nursing are both well paying jobs, and by now they have decent savings.

There is an A-List Hollywood celebrity who lives not far from me in Sedona. She has made close to 100 movies, has won Oscars, has been involved in political campaigning, has authored several books and was in the spotlight for a very long time a while back because of her personal belief systems.
While she still makes about one movie a year, she can go to the grocery store in town, the bank or eat in a restaurant alone and not be harassed by the paparazzi. Why? Because she maintains a low profile. She also knows that the residents of Sedona respect her right to privacy and treat her as she wants to be treated, just like another local resident.
Obviously, if Kate Gosselin put an end to the show, and she would have every right to because of being worried about the safety of her children, tht would end the harassment after a while. People would forget about her and her family. Of course we both know this is not going to happen, she isn’t finished riding the gravy train yet. However, if she were to stop the speaking tours, the book signings, the talk show appearances and the appearances on other TV shows, and tried to live a bit more of a normal and private life, that would help to take some of the attention off of her and her family. Unfortunately, I doubt that is going to happen either.
She has a choice and if she makes the right decision, the best one for her family, it will all be over. I doubt she is going to do that though and, in the end she is going to have to put up with the media, the tabloids and the websites.

Your manager? Your Publicist? Your Security Team? To all the people who are defending the Gosselins, telling us to leave them alone because they are a normal family, does this sound like a normal family to you? I don’t know about you but in my neighborhood no one has a manager, publicist and security team.
