Thanksgiving in New York was my best idea ever. Seriously! I recommend all people go out of town once for the holidays, because the no family drama thing was WONDERFUL!
New York was filled with plenty of memories, and hopefully I will share most of my stories and a few pictures here, but not all tonight. I’m thinking I’m stretching out NY tales all week long. Here is my favorite mistake picture that is sort of cool … its Grand Central Station, and it was a cluster after the parade, so I couldn’t get any good shots as there were like 1,000,000 people inside.
Even though I had to wake up @ 2 am on Thursday (After going to bed @ 11:00 pm) and we had a hard ass time literally finding our way into the brand new terminal @ Detroit Metro Airport, I enjoyed the day. During the whole trip I saw famous people, slept in a king size bed, walked on the Brooklyn Bridge, finally got to eat my Gray’s Papaya hotdogs and even got an early birthday present from Tiffanys!
(Please note: This is hat hair and hair that was pulled up in a clip and should in no way indicate that I have a bad new haircut, lol!!)
I’m not sure what was my biggest breaking news story:
Plaxico Burress (Wide Receiver for the New York Giants) shot himself at the night club that was in my hotel and I came “home” to see my hotel surrounded with news trucks.
I saw three waitresses @ Lindy’s (On Broadway, famous for their cheescake) sharing some drugs in a stall in the bathroom.
The flights in (Yes, I was stuck with the dreaded connecting flight, but it was cheap!) went smooth, and we managed to get to the hotel, drop the bags, and get to the Macy’s Day Parade in time to see Miranda Cosgrove
(Of iCarly and School of Rock) and the Shrek float.
It was pretty good weather and the crowds were tame. We slipped away just before the parade ended and then got us some grub. Hubby had the traditional meal while I had crab cakes and fries. Yum!
As always, I had to check out and pose with the cops in Times Square. I have a huge collection of pictures of me and police officers, I guess you could say I have a huge fettish for a men in uniform. Some day I’ll have to share all of my pictures with you.
This guy loved me, couldn’t stop talking to me, and to quote the hubby “He didn’t even make eye contact with me.”
I was not thrilled to find out there was a terrorist plot to attack New York subways, but it was nice to see all the extra officers on duty in New York over the weekend. Every cop I met or overheard was nice, took pictures, gave directions, etc. I have no idea why people hate them so much. Sure, if you break the law they bust you, but imagine life without them? Ah, no thanks!

I say move to new york

Sounds like a great trip! I can’t wait for the next post. Waitresses doing drugs in the bathroom is soooo NYC..LOL. I love cops to! My dad is a retired police officer and my brother and uncle are Toledo Police officers. The shit they go through is unbelievable and people don’t appreciate what these guys do..sad. Looks like your a hat lover like me(yay!) Love the hat in the cop picture. My 8 year old has a major crush on Miranda Cosgrove..we were watching the parade and when she came on he was hushing us and had his nose pressed to the t.v.! Until the next post….

Great Pics Amy!! Sounds like you had a blast – not like our New Years 1999 trip. Well we had some good times and not so good. This time around sounds like you had a blast. I can’t wait to see more pictures. Want to do dinner for your bday?

Kaylee – I’d love to move there, but apratments are like $3,000 a month. OMG, who can afford that?
Ange – Thanks, and I know, I’ll call you asap.
Shannon – We have a lot in common, more than I can say here for sure. My step son screamed when I told him I saw iCarly, it was great. And thanks for the props for the hat, I think its adorable and love to wear it.
Ana – I had a lot of fun with you guys, OMG!! I was just too drunk when I decided to leave the Copacabanna and walk 40 blocks, alone, down 8th Avenue. Do you remember me, laying on the ground in Times Square? Ha ha ha …. This was actually my fourth trip to NY. I always love it there. And yes, I want to go out to eat, of course!!!

I wish I could have skipped town for Thanksgiving. My sister did her world famous “PISSED ME OFF” shortly after dinner, so Bunny and I hit the road before getting to partake in the pumpkin pie (rumor has it it was the bomb). I should have know better than to go to her house for Thanksgiving. Damn dry turkey cooking bitch.

Peter – Go somewhere next year. We had the best, stress free holiday I’ve ever experienced. And we had a 37 flat screen in the room so hubby could catch the game!
Java – Hubby does have a great sense of humor.

Oh, man. I missed you by a week. I was there from November 15th to the 19th. How crazy would that have been if we had been there at the same time. I’m so jealous that you got to go across the Brooklyn Bridge. My trip was too short (especially b/c I had a 2-day training to attend) to fit in everything. Oh well, guess I’ll have to go back someday. I LOVED your hat!

Allison – Bummer! I only made it 1/3 of the way through – I was having a dizzyspell and my legs were giving out. We had walked about 4 miles before we got there, so I was DONE! You’ll have to go back, it was very fun. and thanks, I love that hat too.
Teeni – Believe me, I know how to pick cute cops! Thanks for the nice comments, I was feeling fat the whole trip!
