After hearing about all the controversy surrounding Jon and Kate Gosselin this summer, I felt moved to write this post. This website is not a hate blog towards Jon and Kate, nor a website dedicated to hating or loving KON like the many other blogs out there. I am only posting some of the so -called “secrets” that other bloggers and websites have written about the Gosselins. I’m amazed at all the hate either towards KON or towards me for writing this.
Secret # 1: Kate Gosselin and the truth about her absent parents – all they wanted to do was give her free stuff and she pushed them away, since it wasn’t good enough. Her parents are Kenton and Charlene Kreider, and her dad is an assistant pastor at Calvary Bible Church in Sinking Spring, PA. When Kate’s babies were born, her father’s church (where he is a pastor) got tons of donations and volunteers for the babies and Kate demanded ONLY NEW MATCHING items. Then she wanted CASH. Finally she disowned her father when he refused to give in. She rejected unmatched cribs and clothing. These are the same grandparents that watched the twins the entire time Kate was in the hospital with that mega belly of hers. It caused a rift and Kate disowned them in a huff and cut the babies out of their lives. ALL I CAN SAY – if this is true, how can she disrespect her father like that?
Secret #2:
Jon and Kate Gosselin rush into parenthood … why? They married in June 99, the a few months after the wedding Kate began infertility treatments at age 24. (Norm is 25 & you have to try getting pregnant “the old fashioned way” for at least a year before beginning infertility treatments.) Eight months after they were married she was pregnant with Cara and Mady.
In May 03 they had an opportunity to adopt a newborn baby, but they didn’t go through with it. They decided to try infertility treatments again just three months later … because as we all know, Kate wanted just one more … and after a few rounds, Kate was preggers with her multiples.
Secret #3:
Jon & Kate are pushing their kids into acting, perhaps for their own greed. Now, I do REALIZE that to pay for eight kids and their college educations must be very expensive. I get that. And I had no problem with them doing the first specials and early episodes. But it seems like things have changed on the show. Remember when Cara and Mady visited a talent agent last season? Almost 70 episodes were shot of J&K+8 so far in the past couple of years. They film three to four days a week. Isn’t that a little hard for children of their young ages? Union actors do not work this much. And I would know, since I’ve been in two movies myself this year. (Like that really makes me an expert, ha, but you know what I mean. Shooting is hard and long and I was tired, so I’d think those kids are, too.) Child actors are protected by union and state laws. Reality show children do not have the same protection. The Gosselin kids now seem to be the cash cow for Kate that keeps on milking into the wee hours of the night.
All of these so-called “secrets” are why I feel Kate may be a bit of a fraud. She is portrayed on her show like she wants and expects the world. We all want a good life, but many of us don’t expect it. I would never put my kids through filming four days a week. I can barely get them to pose for pictures. Sure, getting free diapers, laundry folders and people to babysit is nice. They did need the help in the beginning. But do you realize they make $65,000 – $70,000 per episode? That’s going into the millions when you add it up people – how else do you think they can afford the new $1.3 million dollar house in Pennsylvania? And, oh yeah, they are home schooling the kids, and I’m wondering if this is so that it doesn’t affect their filming schedule.
All the above information has been found on various websites and blogs across the internet. Who knows if its right or wrong, but we all have the right to discuss it. Please keep that in mind, I shouldn’t have to remind people we live in a free country and are allowed our thoughts. And if I read I’m jealous one more time I’m going to puke.

I watch the show. I like some of it, but the truth is, I’m SO sick and tired of Jon and Kate acting like they are poor just so people will give them free stuff. Kate said it all when she made mention that they eat organic, I’m a health food gal and I can tell you, I only eat organic and as such, organic foods don’t come in bulk and are 3-4 times the expense of regular food, so imagine a grocery bill for a family of 10 and multiply it by 3 or 4. I give them props for starting their kids off right nutrition-wise, but please, don’t give me the sob story about how poor you are and how you can’t afford to take trips or go the places you want or do what you desire, because obviously, that’s total hogwash.

Have you seen their massive stash of Johnson & Johnson’s baby wash/shampoo/lotion? Not to mention that the kids wear alot of Baby Gap clothes. Personally I think they receive ALOT of endorsements from some popular name brand companies. I recall Kate mentioning in one show that their ’ski trip’ was a given to them from the lodge in return for some air-time! (I have 4 children, 1 of which that has cancer and is undergoing weekly chemo treatments – can we receive some free goodies too!?)

The Gosselin’s get many, many things free. Think about everywhere they go – @ the zoo, they get a free train ride and a behind the scenes tour. Disney -Free hats, and I’m sure free hotel? The whole house is Ikea furniture- and, oh yeah, remember when Kate went to Ikea? Gap clothes – Remember when Jon & Kate went to the gap and spent all that money?
I understand that they were once poor … but now TLC is building them a house for goodness sakes. They have healthy children. And they know how to work it. What I find sickening is that they go to churches and little old ladies give them $$ because they believe they are poor. Kate is going to market those kids for YEARS … and I worry about the kids, what it will be like for them.

Does anyone recall watching the episode where all the kids were marched off to the dentist? The two eldest girls had to have fillings!!!! The girls were aged 6yrs at the time. 6yrs old and having filling???? (shocking) oh Kate you are slipping.
She harps on about wanting the best for her kids, eating organic foods, wish l could provide organic food for me and my family.
Then in another episode the family march off to Chocolate World…..not a good advert for those much needed fillings.

number 2 isn’t a secret that was revealed during one of the episodes that they had the opportunity to adopt. and i don’t really think filming is taking a toll on the kids. they don’t really intervene on them. it’s a norm to them and they are just filming their daily lives whatever it is they do. they are not forcing them to sit still and talk into the camera or pose for them or anything.

I think Kate is psychotic and Mady is just as bad. Jon is right behind them. Kate is so nasty I can’t say enough about her and won’t waste my time. Their children are unruly and yet Jon and Kate think they are raising them correctly. I have five grandchildren under 5 and they never act like Kate’s children. They should be taken from her because she’s nothing but a compulsive and screaming bitch. She is always tired — from what? Jon takes better of the kids than her. My friends and I can’t stand the show and we have made a pack not to watch it any more. We have better things to do than watch Mady pout and shout. The whole family needs a shrink.

It’s actually kind of pathetic that you have to bitch about people who just got lucky to make yourselves feel better. Jon and Kate do the best they know how. No parent is perfect. God has blessed their lives. Yes, they get a lot of freebies, and I’m sorry for the people who are struggling with children with illnesses/disorders who are not as fortunate. But there is no reason to tear them down for that. It’s a catch-22 really.. they’re screwed if they do and screwed if they don’t because they have put themselves on national television. I suppose that also makes them subject to all kinds of crazy rumors that people post. You might want to stop and consider if maybe some of these things you’ve heard might not be true. And yes, you are entitled to your opinions, but I think you should take another look. Think about what people might say about you if your life was on television. Kate runs a tight ship, but just imagine how her household might run if didn’t. Jon’s and Kate’s children are a delight to watch. Do they throw tantrums? Yes. What child doesn’t? For there being 8 of them they are actually remarkably well-behaved. And just so you know I didn’t get to this page by typing anything derogatory about either Jon or Kate in the search engine. I just wanted to know more about the Gosselins because I do truly enjoy watching their family. They truly seem grateful for the lives God has given them, and I, for one, am happy for them and their family.

Folks, life is tough and wealth makes it easier.
J&K have to provide for and educate 8 childern. I am sure and J&K know that this income stream probably won’t last for ever. I say go for it and bank all they can. Of course the family dynamic will be shaped by the experience. I’ll say that my childhood was worse than any thing I have seen on J&K+8. Yet, I have plenty of fond memories. The money didn’t hurt either.

Jon and Kate lived in Elizabethtown ,PA but recently moved..In the middle of the night.. so no one could follow them to their new house.. Maybe in Wernersville .,PA …She professes to be a christian but yet she has no contact with her parents and now with her brother Kevin and his wife Jodi..what kind of message is she sending to her children?? Some day she’ll realize the destruction she is doing to her children and they may do the same in return to her!! Those kids will have some really great memories of all the fun stuff they got to do, so what if their parents got it for free? Do you have any facts to support these rumors? People will get hurt by this, especially their kids, please be careful of the truth before you spread this libel (yes it is illegal to publish false statements … look it up its called defamation).

Because if you were, the nice things you say about Jodi/”possible you” would just be negated by the fact that you were actually just taking another opportunity to brag about how great you are and what a selfless soul you apparently see yourself as. Just Curious – Bye bye, and I wont miss you. If you are so concerned about the kids you would think its horrifying that they tape them naked and pooping and puking on tv. I’d be more afraid of them getting teased in school (Oh wait, the twins already are according to the tabloids) then by them reading a small blog post when they are so young and their parents monitor them. All you people who have been complaining about how Kate lives her life should have all 8 kids dumped on you plus the cooking cleaning, (Yes I know she has some help now but she didn’t always) I just know you couldn’t do it. Even if you have 8 kids of your own it’s still not the same because they were all in diapers at the same time and all in the terrible twos at the same time etc. And as far as her relationship with her parents, since you know NOTHING about what went on between them, you should just mind your own business. Yes you are correct about about their income, plus they also demand $25,000 per speaking engagement. Now when they are invited to a church to speak they only “Love offerings” plus $20.00 per family photo. They need to stop telling people how poor they are, as its a lie.
Hey Iraynbo I don’t feel sorry for Kate G one bit, as her own mother said she wanted multiples and now she has them. I know many people older folks whose besides my own grandparents that had 8- 10 kids and they didn’t have 3 people helping them as Kate does. And she has ALWAYS had help.
Kate had to defend to the state of PA why she needed nurses, as at that time they made too much money to qualify for state assistance. Also people from her fathers church DO KNOW what went on, as THEY were the ones who wanted to know WHY their donations were rejected and a few blogged about it.
Kate has dumped her sister in law {Aunt Jodi} as she was concerned about the tups well being and she confronted Kate about a rumor. Jodi found out the rumor was true and Kate had a fit when confronted and cut her out of her life. We see a pattern here don’t we?
The neighbors where they used to live in Elizabethtown PA were thrilled they moved, as Kate was always screaming at the kids and not at all friendly. They felt bad for Jon . Its too bad the guys so P-whipped he wont stand up to his wife.
Well? we will see what really went on when the tups get older and they write their own book about the real facts of their lives.

Kate Gosselin does NOT run a tight ship. Normal parents do not watch their children biting each other, hitting each other, tearing one another’s hair out, etc…without intervening.
Those kids are completely undisciplined…and Mommy is so focused on the TV cameras’ she just overlooks it when Maddie bitch-slaps a passing sextuplet like it’s her hobby! If you’re gonna stay on TV, teach your kids some manners!

Ive been following up with a few of these stories and blogs and from personally volunteering and being around people who know kate. She is really mean in real life. I am not saying this to jump the band wagon but experience is the best thing. What you people fail to realize is that some of her children are following in her footsteps of snobbery and rudeness. They mimic what they see her doing. some of them are not like that its sad when you see your kids talking crap about you. for instance on the show when kate was just sitting in her white chair and john wanted to play with his kids she was ordering him to clean and put things away (this is what she does on a daily basis) he said no i want to play with my kids maddy made a comment about how she is always ordering her around. I loved kate in the begining i wish i had met her then instead of meeting her now and seeing what she has evolved into. I do applaud one thing about her though no matter what negative feedback she gets from people she really can give to shits because she is still going to be herself, which is a neurotic ocd tyrant
. And for the record everything mean thing kate says behind your back she WILL and always has said it to your face. She made a wierd face because I had dirt in one of my finger nails. The kids are beautiful kids and if you look into their eyes it seems like they are torn between liking you and doing what their mom says its really sad.

I think that Jon and Kate are just trying to do the best for their kids and everones is benefiting. TLC gets money from the episodes, Jon and Kate get money from it and provide a great life for their kids, and the places that give them free stuff (unless TLC pays for it which I dont see anything wrong with) get advertising, and all the viewers get to watch their show.

If everyone here hates the show so much then why did you choose to read this blog about them?? and you can’t really insult me on my grammer because I’m only in grade 8. Also, if you’re writing this blog because you feel bad for the kids, you could just say, “I feel so bad for them because…” not just say, “Kates a bitch and shes making all these mistakes in parenting.” Like you’ve never made any mistakes or done something bad. Who knows, maybe kate regrets this or maybe shes happy all this happens. anyways, I decided to read this because i enjoy the show and was curious and whoever said that they’re bad christians or whatever, (I’m not religious or anything by the way) isnt judging people not good either? Sk8erGrl lol oh man. Ok this is why I can not be a blogger. I would get to frustrated. Sweetie you are in the eighth grade. I am not questioning your intelligence or your logic because of this but you say you love the show. Do you love it now or what it used to be because at this point they are clearly two different things. I am not on here to bash kate and i dont think just because I have personally met her that that gievs me any right to. I just want you to be aware of certain things. When someone makes you feel inferior and when you see someone making others feel inferior shouldn’t it anger you? I do not believe that Kate was always this nasty in my opinion. Maybe unexplainable things that have happened in her life that no one knows about, has made her this way. What I do know is she is not liked by alot of people. Go to the local grocery store in Berks county and start saying nice things about her and praising her people will look at you as if you have ten heads.
The Kate you see on the show is the real Kate. She is assertive bossy and mean. On the show you notice how her children tend to alwayys sway towards Jon. That is the same in real life. Usually there are a couple momma’s boys or momma’s girls. I dont think one of her children favorite her more than Jon or anyone else for that matter. You are still too young and naive maybe that is why you excusing Kates actions as mistakes, because trust me they are not. Kate and Jon knew what would happen by exposing their lives to tv, they were going to be praised and bashed. I can’t help but add my two cents…I too watch the show. What was once a cute look into the lives of an unusual family has become a train wreck; painful to watch but so interesting you can’t look away. I am so glad I am not the only one who thinks Kate is a whack job, talk about a toxic personality. The kids are cute, Jon is passive aggressive and the true story of growing up Jon and Kate will be a best seller. Girl from the ghetto, I love your blog, I stumbled across it searching for the real story of Aunt Jodi. Give Beatrice an extra can of kitty kibble for me, she is beautiful. What I think is sad, is how Kate gets rid of family in her life. Those poor babies, no family around to love them. Jon and Kate may think the 10 of them is all they need. We all know, your family and friends are all you have. They may be
surrounded by luxuries, but sadly they have no one to share it with. Kate’s new hairstyle shows how she’s feeling, that long bit across her face, looks awful. At the marriage in Hawaii, surrounded by strangers, I’m sure they thought they were rude, all strangers at one table, gosselins at the other. How pathetic, the holidays are coming and they will have no family again. How sad for them all

What ever happened to the saying “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything” Everyone seems so easily make judgement against them, but in reality you would probably do the same things if you were in their shoes… Maybe it’s a bit of jelousy…From what I can see she is a normal loving mother and he is a normal loving father. As for Kate’s family differences unless you were in the discussion between Kate and her family, you have no business adding comments or making judgement. For all the disrespectful comments that have been made, shame on you… you were all probably bullies earlier in your lives cause this is non of your business.

What are the real cost’s of having all the luxury’s and freebies if the children loose out in the end?
They have lost their privacy and the pressures they feel for preforming like show animals now are showing up and will continue to show up later in their lives. Look at Madi and the way she’s acting out.
They cant even take a crap alone and its shown for all to see. Plus 3 weeks ago {Forgot to put it in my original post}I was eavesdropping on two cops who were sitting behind me one was a woman who was a fan of j&k8 when I was in a diner. The cops were discussing how many child molesters must watch the show as they show the kids in the shower/tub and on potties. Made my stomach knot up as what she was saying is true, as pervs get off on that kind of thing. Thats when besides Kate’s over the top OCD antics and the way she treats her husband I really started to look at the show in a different light.
Jon was working at the PA Governors mansion making good money before they got the TLC show and they could afford things, tho not the luxury’s they get now.
No amount of money would make me pimp my
kids, as the Gossling children really have no say in what’s going on as to their lives.
Hopefully the older ones will say they have had enough soon.

I promise that if any of you were in their shoes you wouldn’t have a clue what to do! They are not pimping their kids & if you think that you’re crazy & clearly don’t watch the show. They only acting any of them do is right before the show cuts out & they say “coming up next on Jon & Kate plus 8″. Heres the thing I don’t understand: If you hate Jon and Kate so much then why are you wasting your time blogging about them?
A) You don’t have 8 children, 6 of them under the age of 5 and you DON’T know how you would handle yourself in that situation
B) If you were offered endorsements, would you really say no? Nope, you would say yes especially when you had 8 kids to support and send to college.
C) I’m pretty sure that house isn’t theirs because they are moving south, not to another house in Pennsylvania. Check your facts, they have mentioned this MULTIPLE times on their show
D) Get a life, Grow Up and stop fighting your battles via the internet. It’s honestly pathetic. If you don’t like them, don’t talk about them. End of story. If there is a problem with how long the kids are filming the Department of Labor will handle it and your stupid, immature blogging efforts certainly will not make a difference.
E) If you are so determined to change the lives of children, why don’t you focus your energy towards kids that have REAL problems. Jon and Kate’s kids are happy and healthy. If you are going to waste your life on the internet then you might as well at least raise awareness about the millions of kids around the world that live in poverty, go to bed hungry, and have no chance of a decent future. Get your priorities straight.

WOW, I am so glad that I finally found a web site that I too can complain about Kate. Im sorry but the only reason I am stuck watching this show is cuz my girls LOVE the kids. Im sorry but Kate Gosselin is the biggest bitch on reality tv. Now you have your Omarosa’s and Lacy’s ( ROL and CHARM SCHOOL ) but those girls are acting. Kate is a true blue bitch. We did have the displeasure of meeting them and WOW. I now do NOT LET my girls watch the show anymore.She is so rude and arrogant you would think she is the queen of sheeba. Jon is so lovely but yet a patsy to let this woman do him like this. She slaps him all the time which makes me crazy and talks so down to him. As far as Mady that girl would be in military school with Cara not far behind. If I EVER spoke or acted like her in public my parents would have given me the belt and the soap. oh, if i have to hear one more person justify these peoples scheming because “they have 8 kids to put through college”, i’m going to scream. don’t have kids if you can’t afford them. none were “accidents” or “surprises”. they purposely got pregnant (twice!) using a method they knew would give them multiples at a young age with both parents not having college educations (hate to let ya’ down, but kate’s “rn” education was actually a program she learned on the job. no college classes, no rn program, no degree. just on the job training). and, if you do have kids you can’t afford, do like most people do and make do! you don’t turn your kids into your job. people who think what j&k are doing is okay shouldn’t be parents themselves!

Every good parent wants the best for their children. Which, in many cases, is impossible to provide without money. Any young parent knows how tight money can be, and if someone offers you different vacations, clothing, money etc., of course you are going to take the opportunity to provide for your children. Yes, I know there are many large families out there who survive without all the benefits that Jon and Kate receive, but if any of these families were offered the same opportunities, I’m sure they would take them as well.
Yes, Jon and Kate fight, yes they lose their tempers, but who doesn’t? Any family, no matter how much they love each other, will have tough moments. I’m sure that if TLC filmed in any of your homes, there would be situations that other people (viewers) would not agree with. We all have different parenting styles depending on our circumstances. Jon and Kate are parenting in a way that fits their family. If it is not how you would chose to parent your children, that’s fine, no one is forcing you to… and no one is forcing you to watch the show either. If it is really so horrible, then stop watching.

I love the John and Kate show and I think that they are doing what is best for there children. I loved the Wedding show and I know that John and Kate love each other. I am a mother of 2 and Grandmother of 4 and as my children was growing up we did the same thing that John and Kate are doing and my children are doing the same thing with there children. Everyone gets stressed once and a while and even though Kate gets a little stressed out, she is human, and you would do the same if you had 8 children. No one is perfect and no one should judge John and Kate in the way they bring up there children. Just because Kates parents are not in the picture does not mean that Kate does not love her parents. My children and I do not agree on everything either and we have times when we have disagreements but I love them and I am sure that Kate loves her parents also. She has a great responsibility with raising 8 children and she is raising them to love the Lord. No one has the right to criticize her. I watch the show all the time and will continue to do so.

I must agree with The Girl From The Ghetto..I have also read most of the web-site’s and blogs out there regarding Jon and Kate Plus 8. I agree that one must trust their gut. And..my gut tells me that Kate is a bitch and Jon is definatly her doormat. The show itself doesn’t bother me..it’s the part of the show where Jon and Kate are on the couch discussing the subject of that particular show. Kate is so very nasty to her husband. She talks about her own kids in such a negative way. Shes always yelling at Jon for so many things. Whether it’s how he handle’ the kids, what he’s saying ( that bothers me the most..when she belittle’s him on TV for absolutely no reason), how she lie’s about how much she spends( that show where she’s food shopping..under a 100 dollars? I saw the cash register..it was WAY over a hundred dollars). And..you’re all correct when you say that how can you say you’e this devout Christian when you pick and chose what you’re receiving from a church? How about giving back to charity? I don’t care how much $ they make an episode..or where they go on vacation’s. What I do care about is the negative atittitude both of these parents display on national TV. I don’t want my 10 and 4 year old kids watching a woman belittle her husband and children on TV. They see enough of that on other show’s. This is supposed to be a ” family show”. It’s a bitch fest. I would never treat my husband like that esp on TV. Does Kate know how America view’s her? Most can’t stand her. The episode where they are at the toy store..she’s screaming like a physcho in the store. She’s lucky she didn’t get kicked out. Yelling word for word ” He’s playing with toys and not doing HIS job. Then yell’s HELLO!!! She also has a camera crew with her. What about the other’s in the store? She would have had someone else kicked store if the situation was the opposite. Jon actually told her that “she looks horrible in public”. She responds by saying ” I don’t notice other people” Then say’s ” I like you Jon” Not ” I love you” What the hell was that? Everything about this show and how this family raises their children is wrong. I know CPS would be up my ass if they saw me allowing my sick kids lay on a laundrey room floor. They woul also be pretty pissed and suspicous is like Heather stated the twins had NO car seats on the bus.
Thanks for a blog where I can say that I DONT LIKE THIS FAMILY..and not be told I’m just jealous. I’m with ALL of you who despise this woman. Oh..1 more thought. Everyone – I love hearing all the raves and rants about this show. While I don’t agree with every opinion here, I try to be fair and let everyone vent. I see many anti-J & K blogs who won’t let though negative comments. I believe we all have free speech.
Heather – You made an excellent point. Children under 4′9″ have to ride in booster seats here in Michigan. I have no idea how anyone felt this was safe for them to ride all that way home like that.

I don’t want to be famous for acting like a selfish bitch and having my kids lives taped constantly. If I were ever to become famous (Which I don’t want, I enjoy my privacy!) I’d hope to be famous for the right reasons, such as writing good books or doing something wonderful to help people. I would LOVE to give my money away to charity. I’m sure most of the people here who visit don’t take the time to read all of my posts, but I grew up on welfare, and most of my life charities helped me to do go to summer camps, get Christmas dinner and presents, etc. I grew up poor, but I had a happy childhood, and when I was watching the Disney World episode last night I thought to myself “Even though I’ve never been there, I don’t feel like I missed out on it.” I have volunteered at a dozen different places since I was 12 years old, because I feel EVERYONE is responsible to give back. Even though I have terrible diseases, I’m walking (While wearing leg braces!) in a 5k next weekend for the Arthritis Foundation in the freezing cold, by myself, because I WANT TO. I give money and my time faithfully year after year to charity. And I work in civil service. So please, all of you, spare me the “You are jealous, you’d do it for the money” bullshit. NO I WOULD NOT. I’d get a much higher paying job with my degree if I was looking to make some bank.
Just once I’d like to see Kate do something for other people rather than for herself on tv.

I am in NO way jealous of Kate Gosselin. I never have or ever will be jealous of her. She’s a nasty, lying, sarcastic woman.
I recently discovered another show about a couple who had 2 sets of twins and a set of sextuplet’s. The father was a cop and the mom stayed at home. I believe they live in NJ. I’m not sure what the show was called, but, neither on of these parents, at any given time, were nasty to each other or the kids. They didn’t live in a big house. They had a normal amount of clutter. They respected each other. They respected their neighbor’s. So, after watching this new show ( that has MORE kids than the Gosselin freak show) I’d like to know what Kate is going to do now. What would happen if the focus came off of her show and on to another? This other family wasn’t off selling picture’s for 20 bucks. There were no ” speaking” engagements. They were just a normal family, doing normal things.
I really hope that the Gosselin’s are off the air soon. I’ve personally seen enough of them. I can’t stand kate..I’m even starting to NOT like Maddy either. And..that make’s me feel bad b/c I love kids. She just seems like a ” Kate in training”.
I really think the Gosselin’s are in trouble and don’t even know it. How will they maintain this lifestyle they have entered into when the show is over? I don’t think Jon works and they have no family or friends left. It’ll be so lonely and the kids, who made the money for the parents, will be the one’s to suffer, ultimatly.

Girl from the ghetto – Thanks for the name of that show that I was asking about. They seemed very normal. I would much rather watch that, than Kate acting like the Blair Witch.
Clevergoogler – GREAT work..lol. That house is HUGE. Well – now they have a big house for their “circus show” they film a few days a week. I hope they can afford that home when the show is over. I hope they are saving money..they should be..they don’t share a penny of it with anyone anyway.
Last night I watched an episode where Maddy and Cara play Mommy for the show. I honestly had to turn to another channel. Maddy was a complete and total brat. Why didn’t Jon or Kate step in and help Cara? They just allowed Cara to sit on the couch alone. And..allowed Maddy to act like that. Then Kate says “Maddy gets that from Jon”?? Even Jon was like ” What the hell?”
I also ( and it’s just my opinion) HATE Kate’s hair. I think it’s awful the way its all spiky in the back and she has this flop over her face. Almost like the band ” Flock of Seagals”..awful.
Kate has no one..no friends..no family. I also feel bad for those kids b/c what parent is going to want their kids playing with her’s? I would do anything to avoid her. She’s probably blame me for something..or my kid for that matter. She’s ruthless like that.

I am just saying you go on about the show and not in a positive way, then just don’t watch it. And I have watched the show for sometime now and I am more than certain that the shows rating are up more when they go on trips or for instance when they renewed their vow’s in Hawaii. I get upset when people just bash her and the show, there is so much worse TV programs out there. At least they are being themselves. No one wants to see a perfect family being portrayed or else the Brady bunch would still be on air( or something similar). And as far as her hair I think it’s unique and with a back round in fashion and cosmetology I think it is far better than it ever was previously. I would love to see what your hair looks like. Take sometime to look into how many reality shows have been successful and how they were compensated for this. For instance Little People Big World, they added on to their house and built a pool and so much more. TLC has ski rocketed with these reality show’ sand it’s not just Jon and Kate that are benefiting from it.

I totally 110% agree about the blog that you wrote. I used to love watching the show. In fact, I purchased Seasons 1&2 just so I can watch them all the time since I work night shift. I adore the sextuplets, and just like you, am just a bit concerned about them being overexposed. The last episode I watched was The wedding episode. To be honest, I was a bit annoyed at how materialistic Jon and Kate have become, as compared to their first shows. The fame has been blinding them and I totally understand how that can be possible. I also wondered why the people that stuck with them, helped them over the past episodes, were not present at the wedding(renewal of vows). Just curious. Pardon my ignorance, but I only learned about the Kate-Jodi debacle a few hours ago. I have always wondered why their immediate families were seldom mentioned and was never on birthday parties. Now it’s all making sense.
And to all who are hating this blog, have we forgotten one of our rights as an American citizen? Our freedom of speech?

Well we all know, courtesy of Kate and the garage sale episode that aired last month, that she doesn’t like glitter and the mess it leaves all over her house and floors, prompting Kate to sale the ornament Mady’s grandfather gave her that had glitter all over it. I think we all should send GLITTERY Christmas cards filled with nice sparkly glitter to Kate. I think a nice Christmas card (or 50) is in order for Katie Irene, you know, to celebrate the season and all!

I really loved this show in the first season, when they were a family of 10 struggling to get by. It seemed realistic and I could relate to what was going on. I grew really attached to the show and the family, so I still watch it, but it has gone down hill.
I don’t blame them for taking advantage of the free stuff though, if I were in their position and people were offering me free products and vacations, I would obviously take them, as would most people.

This blog is phenomenal. I thought I was the only person who feels bad for not only Jon, but those poor kids as well. Even TLC acknowledges J&K+8 as “America’s favorite family”. My fiance absolutely loves this show and I watch it with her, but I can’t help but throw in my own commentary while watching.
Just watch any episode, doesn’t matter which one. Kate will invarably interrupt Jon while he speaks to the camera and make fun of him. And the way she talks about her kids on camera disgusts me. Take note that when one of the children acts up (like all children do), she will comment to the camera and roll her eyes as if she despises her children. WHAT A BITCH. She doesn’t deserve to have one child, let alone eight of them.

ok this is really mean! Jon and Kate are doing a lot for their kids. They are doing the show so people can see what it is like living with sextuplets and twins. Kate does not act like that and jon is not that much of a push over. i know you have your right to say stuff but that video was crazy! jon would never do that! And Kate would never put her kids in a dog crate. They love their kids and would never try to intentionally do something bad. They are great parents. if you don’t like them than just leave them alone. None of this crap is true. A lot of people who are jealous post that crap because they think it is funny but it isn’t. Just leave them alone. They did not plan on keeping the show going it’s just that many people want them too.

Janelle – How are the Gosselins showing the world what its like raising twins and sextuplets when neither of them work, they have no family involvement, and all the do is travel on go on speaking engagements. They aren’t doing the normal things parents of 8 kids would be doing. Who wants to see this? If I wanted to see over- indulged children and adults I would watch like The Hills or Real Housewives of Orange County or something. We don’t need to see how hard it is for possibly emotionally impaired Mady to continually feel bad and act out because all she wants is her mothers attention.

Last night’s program about giving back made me sick. The Gosselins get a free trip to Memphis, stay at the lovely Peabody Hotel (no Super 8 for them) and go to KMart to select toys. You know that they didn’t pay for the toys. This is revolting. The producers should have used the costs involved and donated that $ to St. Jude. KMart could have easily donated toys without directly to St. Jude without using the Gosselins to deliver them. What kind of giving back is that? It looks like the Gosselins used wonderful St. Jude to promote themselves.

Sally- I’m so with you on last nights show. I seriously wondered if Kate wouldn’t let her kids go around the sick children for fear of germs. I thought this whole episode was a ploy for people to like Kate. I’m sorry, but it didn’t work for me. Jon looked like he was all red in the face during their episode feedback, like they had been crying during takes. I certainly was after seeing all this poor kids dying of Cancer. Kate didn’t have a tear in her eye, and I loved how she told the people at the hospital that she was a nurse, when she hasn’t been one for years. I’m hoping the hospital got the awareness it needed because of this publicity stunt. Beleive me, being a FREE hospital, they need every dime they can get.

So, after being mildly disappointed with Monday nights “Giving Back” episode, I did a little googling and found this Blog! Fantastic by the way…It’s not that I hate Kate, or even that I think that they don’t deserve the success. I just feel like maybe the two of them have become grossly affected. It is obvious that fame has gone to their heads, and sadly I think the show is suffering. I used to enjoy watching the family…I didn’t feel (until this season) that the kids were being treated poorly, or even over exploited. I even enjoyed Kate and her antics, because it made for great TV! These people have had a very charmed life…many experiences that most people may ever have in a lifetime.
My problem is this…with great power, comes great responsibility. I can tell from their show, that they do not treat people with much respect at all. For instance, in the “giving back” episode when they walked into K-Mart, and Kate completely ignored the greeter that gave her a cart! That old man was likely excited to meet the Gosselins, and now he just has negative stories. I live in the NW, in the same town as the Roloffs. I work in a place that Amy Roloff visits often…I am no longer a fan of her show, because she is not nice at all to the public who has made her famous (sorry Tammy, that may contradict what you said about the Roloffs)…Just goes to show…Everyone has their own opinion . I would imagine that if the Gosselins were a little bit nicer, and respectful to the people that have made them famous, people would not be so upset. thegirlfromtheghetto…Keep up the good blogging! I always wonder how hard it is to be on constant good behavior with the public when you are a “famous person.” I would think Kate would be nicer to a greeter on camera, but, it seems to me she kind of rebuffs the public. She always seems monotone when out in public, except for the big shows like Oprah. I think you have to be a little more nice when your famous. I love it when I hear stories about famous people who always tip 100% of their bill, etc. I did enjoy J & K until I learned her back story, and now I am bothered by this season, which is not at all about how hard it is to raise these kids.

I agree with you. I hope the show generated donations for St. Jude. There are so many ways the producers of the show could have made it more about St. Jude and less about the Gosselins.
Did anyone notice the bit about the old friend who folded their laundry? Kate said, “She loves us.” I heard her say something similar about Beth and Bob a couple of seasons ago. Most people would say, “We love them” rather than “they love us.” Kate comes across as such a megalomaniac.

I’m a new watcher of the show, so i was not tuned in for the beginning episodes. I love to watch the show just because of the children. Kate’s attitude gets on my nerves, but of course I don’t have to deal with her. I feel badly for Jon, but can see he is trying his best to juggle pleasing Kate and being a good father. Although I don’t agree with how fame has interfered with the childrens’ lives, it has opened many wonderful opportunities for them. Being able to buy presents for the sick children at St. Jude’s and having the opportunity to make a difference is probably something they would not have been able to do without their fame. Being able to travel and see so many wonderful places creates great memories for these children. I can only hope Kate realizes when it’s time to let go and allow her kids to live normal lives, and hope she’s putting that money aside for their future!

As a mom of multiples, I really enjoyed watching the early seasons of J&K+8. However, I have become progressively more and more disenchanted with this farce of a program. It’s like watching an infomercial for luxury resorts, cosmetic enhancements (tummy tuck, teeth whitening, hair plugs, etc.), Gymboree, Fisher Price…. need I continue? I think TLC completely “Jumped the Shark” with the last episode “Giving Back”. It was pretty evident that the toys were not purchased by Kate, just a plug for K-mart. She gave out her book and Season DVD to those kids? Then “read” Despereaux at the end of the episode- just a coinsidence that the movie was opening in two weeks? BARF!!!! I”ve gone from loving this program to loathing it! It’s been permanently removed from my DVR recording list!
Side note: I thought it was particularly amusing to hear Kate say that the kids don’t visit very many stores. Obviously! Everything is donated to her and delivered to her front door!

well jon and kates giving back episode did exactly what it said on the tin. Yep i had just eaten dinner and started watching the show and sure enough ……yep you guessed it a gave back. From the blatant KMart advert to the “hey lets put everything through the check out” and pretend we are going to pay, well do me a favor.
Any self respecting person who did like Kate should have lost it at this point. Using a charity to boost their appeal is a disgrace and TLC should also be given a smack in the face for this one as well.
Yes all these reality shows are shit, but at least Duggers and the show with the umpa lumpas actually had good businesses before and are showing their kids they actually have to work to earn money , and i actually take my hat off to the Duggers as all their kids look clean and are incredibly polite .

I too have multiples, 10 children in all (quad, trip, trip – 2 and 3 years apart, respectively). Never have my children acted so poorly – slapping and temper tantrums with nothing more than “we don’t hit” from the parents. Yes, they do and the parents do nothing. In this, Jon is as much to blame as Kate.
Kate Gosselin is controlling in the worst way. She alienated her parents for not providing her with new, matching clothing? Oh, poor Kate. How horrible it must be to receive the assistance and support of dozens of people who want nothing more than to help out of the goodness of their hearts. Kate is a terrible disciplinarian, as is evidenced by her brats. While the tups have a little leeway as they’re toddlers, the twins have no excuse other than being brats like their mother. Kate concentrates on fussing about the wrong things. She freaks out at a spot on the floor or carpet, gum on a toy, but doesn’t understand that it’s rude, improper and a horrible example to set when she berates her husband in front of the kids and the entire country.
I despise h0w she has essentially turned Cara and Mady into little Moms. Do this. Pick up that. Go get that run-away child. What a horrible thing to do to a child. Should something ever happen to one of the little ones, the unfair responsiblity they’ve placed on the older kids will lead to such mental and emotional anguish for them. Irresponsible parenting in the worst sense.
Mady is a brat. Pure and simple, she’s a horror. Giving her any control over anyone is a horrible mistake. She can’t control herself; she certainly shouldn’t have sway over the lives of impressionable little ones.
Jon is a jellyfish. He has a wishbone where he needs a backbone.
Kate is the essence of “attention whore” and she plays it for all it’s worth. Sadly, she’s teaching her children to be attention whores with little focus on the importance of being responsible individuals. Having and raising 8 children isn’t responsible. Raising them well is responsible. Kate is an epic fail.
She is a princess with a martyr complex. “Our lives are difficult, but we’re like everyone else.” Liar. Most raising families, multiples or not, don’t have million dollar homes and receive mountains of freebies. Then she proclaims how grateful she is for the freebies. Yes, after attention whoring your family for years, the money has started rolling in. Hooray. She is a fraud of the worst calibre… she lies and even she believes them.
In no way is this sour grapes. My husband makes a fine living and we are far from poor. However, we can admit it. We don’t proclaim that we’re just like everyone else. We aren’t. We have, in comparison to many, an easy and blessed life.
In 20 years, when the children are has-been meltdowns in rehab or in the grave from suicide, I’ll be one of millions on the “I told you so” bus. There are plenty of seats.

I never understand what the “You are just jealous!!” people mean. Jealous of what? Jealous I don’t have a film crew following me around 4 days a week? Jealous I can’t berate my husband on national TV? Jealous that I don’t have 8 ill-behaved children? Jealous that I haven’t cut off my extended family? Jealous that I have a ton of free time and disposable income because I have no kids?
If you are going to invite cameras into your home and put your life on TV, then you better be ready to have people comment on it.

I was thinking about the Christmas episode from a season or two ago. I found it incredibly sad that not one relative was gathered around the family table with them. Most people I know gather with family or friends if they have no family locally. Poor kids. I’m nearly 50 years old and I miss the extended family gatherings at my grandparents’ home. I am so grateful that I knew all 4 of them.
I understand that Jon’s dad has passed. It’s so pathetic that there is no relationship with the remaining 3 grandparents. And, Kate wanted to sell the glittery Christmas ornament from Grandpa. How unfeeling. My siblings and I are in the process of splitting up the contents of our parents house. There are things there of no particular value that all of us want to see someone in the family keep because of the family history attached to it. How could Kate want to dispose of that little piece of grandpa.
I hope they find the trips and other free stuff fulfilling in lieu of family relationships. I wonder if they will let themselves build relationships with the Hawaiian relatives from the wedding episode…..

I watched about 3 episodes of that stupid show before I had a belly full of that womans nonsense…..talking to her hubby as if he is a dog. i have a dog and never speak to her the way this woman does the man who for awhile supported her ungrateful self. and then listening to the twins groan and cry and be spoiled brats was more than i could take, i have a brat at home myself why would i want to watch that drama on tv too? today i wanted to see what the latest hoop la was about these people and went to their website and i seen a section called “Inspirational Stories” and Kates ideal of a inspirational story is a teacher talking smack about children from a one child family …..well here are her words exactly……..

I used to watch Jon and Kate but have stooped watching this season because it became more about promotion and manufactured events rather than the everyday life as it was in the begining. I have never been a fan of Kate and my husband and I mostly tuned in just to see how badly Jon was going to get yelled at every week.
The shift in the content of the show is so obvious I have chosen not to watch and give it any more ratings and I hope others do the same so that the show is cancelled and Kate can fall on her ass back to earth.
For all the people claimimg the following:
1) We must be jealous if we complain……INCORRECT. Because people have opinions on how they see Kate acting does not equal jealousy. I’m sure you have people you don’t care for in life so does that mean you are jealous of them. I could care less how much money they get from the show. The fact is that Kate carries herself as an ungrateful, rude, nasty bi*** instead of being grateful and kind to people.
2) WHEN PEOPLE PUT THEIR LIVES ON CAMERA IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR PEOPLE TO SAY “DON’T JUDGE”!! HELLO??? If you don’t want to be judged then don’t go on national television!! COMMOM SENSE!!!

I believe those who post here do not “hate” JK+8. We do not agree nor understand their behaviors and choices as portrayed on the show and this blog serves as a forum for us to discuss our thoughts. If people don’t like what we say here, it is akin to us not liking what we see on the show.
I have developed a strong distaste for all those advertisers who use this program to promote their goods. J&K may be pimping out their family, but it’s the advertisers who are taking them up on their offer. The way to get this program off the air, if that is your inclination, is to boycott all the companies that uses the family for product placement. They are the ones who are feeding the Gosselin machine. Don’t visit their resorts and don’t buy their juice!
To the producers, go back to episodes of Kate sitting in the garage watching the kids play in the driveway. Let the viewer see “average” family activity. Or, let Kate get a job outside of the home and stick the kids in daycare as this is something most people can relate to. Of course, that means Jon would have to get a real job….

I am a fan of the show and while I realize that there are many who are not fans of this family, and particularly Kate, I AM curious as to if you’d still watch (those who actually DO watch the show) J&KPlus8 were they truly ACTING? Kate shows worts and all, and though so many of you despise her, you still discuss her and even to the point of blogging about her and her family.
Thing is, what if they put on a show that was basically a parody of the Brady Bunch? Would that be better? And I am additionally curious about the PSU student who claims to have met her? Were you in one of the episodes and if so, which one? Is Kate aware of your feelings toward her?
Have any of you actually MET Kate’s family and sat down, basically interviewing them about their feelings? or are all of these comments from the blogger and the responses to the blogger merely based on hearsay?
She is who she is..Kate, that is. I don’t think she honestly cares if anyone likes her or how she handles her family.
But I do know that I personally have to tip my hat to them for simply showing it all…and this includes the ugliness…on their TLC program. I am not so sure many could do the same.

While I DO appreciate where some of you are coming from regarding the exploitation (MY verbage in translation) of the kids and especially during such private moments as going to the bathroom, how is it NOT exploitative to actually list their home address as has been done on this blog?
With concerns addressed on this blog about those kids being watched on national television by possibly child molestors, I cannot for the life of me understand condoning and even a few “You Rock” thrown in to the blog commentor who posted a link to their address.

I’m up late tonight because my daughter has been sick today. Normally I avoid J&K+8 but I got sucked into watching the episode when they go to Disneyworld. I found this blog after doing a search of “Kate Gosselin” and google came back with “Kate Gosselin mean”. I had to stop watching the episode after they got off the Dumbo ride and one of the twins started melting down about needing a snack. This little girl covered the camera with her hand! You can’t tell me being on camera that many hours per day/per week is not affecting these children-and whoever said Kate and Jon are pimping their kids is dead on.
My connection is from a distance. Our daughter was born in China. We chose to adopt rather than undergo fertility treatment that ran the risk of multiple births. For us we wanted to be parents and after 3 miscarriages feel blessed to be parents to a child who was in need of a family. Our daughter is the light of our lives and we have also been blessed to become close to the families we traveled with.
We traveled to China with 9 other families in 2003 and among the other families one of the mothers is a nurse who worked with Kate and knew some of what has been written about here and elsewhere. The story that kills me is the one about the van that Kate refused because it wasn’t THE one she wanted-and the fact that they had lots of volunteers helping them but they always made it appear they were doing it all themselves. The whole idea that they didn’t know what they were getting into after they had already had twins via fertility drugs is bogus as well. I still don’t understand how you could double dose on fertility meds but my understanding is after getting drugs from one doctor Kate then went to a different fertility doctor and took more fertility drugs in the same cycle-the cycle which resulted in the sextuplets.
I don’t know if it was Madi or Cara but I was shocked at one of the early episodes when Kate was comparing the twins and speaking glowingly of one and almost mocking the other daughter and then saying how the daughter she was dissing was just like her husband. If that is the one acting out now I don’t really blame her.
I just don’t understand people that want to put their children on display like that. I hope she counts her blessing each and every day that not one of those babies had serious health issues. When I was younger I worked at a home for severely physically handicapped children and many of them had a healthy twin at home. It is so common among multiples for at least one to have cerebral palsy or another serious issue. They are so blessed to have 8 healthy and beautiful children.
I hope they wake up soon and realize their children-especially the older girls are getting to an age where their privacy is more important than how many freebies they get.

I have friends who have adopted two children and they couldn’t be happier. I rewatched that Disney Episode and the Best and Worst recap episode last night. It made me so sad to see Kate melt down when the kids just wanted to eat some ice cream and she was nuts over them spilling it on themselves. I actually have a friend who never let her daughter get dirty, and by the time she got to kindergarten the teacher told her mom how at lunch she spilled her drink all over her shirt on purpose.

However, I have determined that’s it o.k. for them to participate in school plays, athletic events, or dance or musical recitals. Why be so judgmental about people. Jon and Kate are an average family just giving the people want they want, reality tv and for the sextuplets they know no difference the camera people have always been in their lives. By watching them I see where they just go about whatever it is they want to do and pay no attention to the camera people. Well – I never knew how to spell Aunt Jodi’s name because she was never credited or paid for her time on the show. If she had been mentioned on TLC’s payroll as she should have been, this mistake would never have been made. Thanks for letting me know my mistake. I used to love this show, in the beginning. I am a mother of 2 sets of twins-naturally conceived, so I was drawn to watch. Kate has tranformed into a evil being. She may have always been, I don’t know. I don’t see a lot of love between her and her children. Not a lot of nurturing. I enjoyed nothing more than my babies and then toddler’s crawl up on my lap and let me rock them, hold them, and love them. I don’t see this out of Kate. When Jon tries to show that type of affection to his child, Kate calls him a child. Kate respects no one! The way she treats her husband is horrific. Christians do not act like that! Kate is in it for the money and glory. I tried to give the Gosselins the benefit of doubt, but seeing the new home changed my mind once and for all. We to had to move into a bigger home as our family grew, but this new home is unreal! I guess Kate had to catch up with Beth in status. It is sad that the Gosselin children do not have the benefit of extended family. I could not have raised my children, now 15 and 4 without the help of Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and many friends. This kids are sadly going to become snobbish, selfish, spoiled, and will not now how to express love healthy. The show has become Kate’s gain in social status and what nice things they can get at the expense of their beautiful children. Kate has made these children so isolated from family and others that it is really sad. She is raising them in “Kate’s box”. With all the money they make, I wonder if they are giving 10% back to their Church. I was moritified when Kate was willing to sell the oranment that granddad gave the girls! Kudos to Jon for standing up to Kate the Terrible. I have no respect for Kate. I think once people see this new house it will be the down fall of the show. Viewers will no longer see this as a family trying to survive the challenges of multiples, but greeding, snobby, and self-absorbed individuals making a living of their children, just as the family and close friends have realized!!!

Not a blogger…just someone looking around for where J & K were moving. And in looking around….OMG found all of this! From someone who has a Masters Degree in Child Development and Education, I believe that if many of you really cared about the well being of those kids, then you wouldn’t be saying all of those horrible things about their mother and their family! Who knows what any of us would do if put in that situation. The book was a very interesting read and shows many things not on the show. Kate knows she is controlling and in my opinion has come a long way since those early days. She’s just doing what she thinks is the best with the cards that she’s been dealt. And there are MANY references to how grateful she is to all that everyone has given them. For those that say that there is no love shown to the children or to Jon by Kate, I totally disagree. Watch again and you will see. Though we all may have (and express) our opinion, it is really not up to us to judge. I only wish the best for them and for all of you for that matter. None of us are perfect as evidenced by all of the foul language and name calling on this blog. Sorry, but with a family member that is mentally challenged, I’m a little sensitive to people calling others retarded…and as a teacher and a mother, I cringe at the foul language that is used so freely.

If you’re interesting, google or go to the ReadingEagle.com website and read all of the articles about how she ‘needed’ her ‘nurse’ *NANNY* to be paid for by the city of Reading. (this was back when the babies turned 1-) and she announced in a meeting that ’society should pay for nurse (NANNY) because she had 8 freaking kids. These people whined and carried on when the babies were born-they were showered with gifts, donations, etc from all over but most were REJECTED because they were hand me downs. She complained because they were only able to do a ‘date night’ every other week or so while VOLUNTEERS watched the 8 kids. I was just so thrilled when they left the Wyomissing area years ago but now they’re back. (not in Wyomissing but nearby) They just purchased a $1.3 MILLION dollar home from an MD. (an OB-GYN actually!)

Kate, I love your kids as much as is possible from a distance. I think Jon is awesome, and I did think you were wonderful. I have to tell you that I think I understand why you are estranged from every family member in your life. The shame of that is that you seem to have also separated Jon from his. I couldn’t believe when the plastic surgeon offered to do your tummy tuck for free, and you then asked him to do your breast. Kate what is really sad is that you do need help. There are not many big deals in this life, and a little crayon mark, or gum is not by most peoples standards a big deal. You really are the one that needs to seek professional help. Your obsessive and controlling issues impact who your kids will be.
We all watched as Beth and her daughter, and others traveled at their own expense to help with your kids at Disney and etc. I cannot believe you would begrudge those people anything. May I ask you to tell me one fine thing you ever did for your volunteer babysitters, clothes folders, and those who even ironed your clothes?
Don’t worry, I know you cannot.
Kate, you may blame everyone else for the lack of relationships you have with others. You are not interested in anyone who can’t do something for you.
It has also been discouraging to see you literally beg for things on your show. For instance, “we love those strollers from Disney”, “I need a new camera”,
I wish I had swings like that in back yard, and on, and on.
So now you get a fabulous house that your babies paid for. Congratulations on pulling off the ultimate “gimmee”. Eventually your greedy and aggressive behavior will leave you a very lonely woman.
To a person I have read peoples remarks about Maddy. You have let her abuse your babies, and worse you have let her get away with it. I don’t think I have seen her pay any consequences except in CA & HA.
Finally mam, I have never seen anyone in my life put sick children burning up with fever and vomiting, on the floor in the laundry room like a sick puppy, or put a very tiny girl in the basement by herself. You did not provide those sick children a soft pallet, just a blanket and they were on their own.
I hope to God that TLC is putting those childrens money away in a trust for them, because I think you believe the world owes you a very big debt.

I will keep my own (unfounded as I’ve literally never seen the show) opinions about the members of the family to myself, but I do want to point out that it’s quite routine for families of larger sets of multiples to get quite a number of donations of baby and child items from manufacturers, businesses, hospitals, and so on. Granted, few who don’t put themselves so out there in the public eye are likely to be getting as many donated things as this family, but it really is not uncommon for diaper, etc. donations to continue well into the toddler years+, even for families not being paid to be on television.
Also, it a house worth over $1M might seem incredibly luxurious to most living in the middle of the country, but it not even close to unheard of the many of us living on the coasts. My partner and I do not even have children, live on a coast, and have a home that cost nearly as much, with a hefty property tax bill to boot, and could quite literally not sleep 1/3 of this family.
Just some additional perspective, from a coast dweller whose extended family has had many multiple pregnancies/deliveries…

Casey – Wow, what an original thought … we are all jealous. And, for the record, as a flight attendant I also survived a bird strike. They happen a lot more than people realize. Certainly I think its fantastic that no one died due to the skills of the pilot, but, it happens. Only since it happened in NY are you hearing about it.

If you have the misfortune of encountering Kate while shopping in Berks County you will witness firsthand what a true bitch she is. Her is a woman who choose to get pregnant by other-than-natural means fully knowing the possibilty of multiple births could occur. (I believe she couldn’t get pregnant the way God intended for a reason!) Then she doesn’t even appreciate what her church did for her. She EXPECTS things to be handed to her. I watch the show. I am not sure why. I think it is to watch someone else’s dysfunction. Those of you who think Kate is normal – well I feel sorry for you. If you look up PCOS on the internet..you’d see. Just b/c you have cysts on your ovaries doesn’t make you a PCOS canidate. So..please!! Jon and Kate will say and do everything and anything to explain to the world why they chose to have 8 kids. And..why we must support those 8 kids. I cannot relate to them. Very True Java..and thank you for writing that nicely. I agree with you. I admit that I tape a few of the episode’s on my Direct TV. But – I don’t cancel life to watch them at all. I think this show will be gone sooner than later. I think most of america is sick of this group. I’ve also noticed that TLC is airing many other shows with similar aspects..and you’re right..maybe if we all viewed the other shows more..that TLC would see the Gosselin ratings go down and cancel it. I’d LOVE to see them out on there asses! I don’t think they have a clue whats its like to survive…not with neither one having a job and free trips every other month. I really enjoy reading evryone’s thoughts and opinions on this site. It interests me. Perhaps it takes me away from reality for a moment or two. Which, I guess, is why I watch Jon and Kate occasinally..it’s just something else for me to think about.

I just can’t watch it because I’ve known people like kate and they were close enough to smack..I can’t smack her and that’s tough for me! Seriously though I feel like the kids are going to be the ones suffering after all of this is said and done. It hurts to hear on some of these episodes that kate really doesn’t seem to really care about those kids..to me they are her passport to a cushy life and mostly they are in the way. How many times an episode do we hear..”go find something to do, go downstairs, go watch tv”. OUCH ..my kids are older now and to be able to hold them or play with them would be a thrill for me. They seemed more annoyed by them than anything.
anyhow yeah I won’t watch it. I’m more of a blog reader or find a book to get out. There are so many of these shows that I would love to see get cancelled before millionaires are made out of jack asses.

I did not have the chance to read all of the comments, but I am going to add my 2 cents (forgive me if I repeat something that someone else said). Anyone who can say that having a camera crew in a child’s life daily does not affect them is certifiable. My 2 act up when other people are around, because they know that it is harder for me to discipline them. Furthermore, the parents’ behavior is also going to be affected, since they want their children to be better behaved when other people are watching. So if you combine the children acting out more with the parents being more annoyed about it, what do you think is happening to the parent-child relationship?
Secondly, these children have not given their consent to be filmed constantly, and who can know how it makes them feel? Has anyone ever watched one of those specials on child actors who have become alcoholics (or worse)???
Last of all, I think that the real problem is the distortion of all “reality” shows. In the beginning I thought that this was a cute show, and was happy that the family was making a little extra money. But as always, it has been played to the max. It is no longer a reality show. Perhaps in Hollywood, where people can afford to go to Disneyworld, and Hawaii to renew their vows, among the many other things they get to do–I live a half hour from Sesame Place, but have yet to go, and my husband has a job! This show is certainly not reality for most families in America, and Kon should be ashamed to say otherwise.

Once again..I see your point entirely. You are right when you say that what Kate is doing to “make a living” is wrong. Actually, both her and Jon. They are both adults. It’s wrong, period!
When I watch the show, I see Maddy suffering the most. I see alarming behavior in that child. But, Im not en expert on that. Im just a paramedic. I just know that many people agree that Kate’s behavior is alarming in SO many ways and that Jon needs to step up. If not for himself, but his children. I see those kids future as not having many friends b/c of their mom. And that to me is very very sad. I know I wouldn’t allow my kids to associate with J&K’s kids. Why? B/C I don’t want my kids around someone who can’t even throw a fake smile on for TV. She’s miserable. And..she’ll be MORE miserable when she doesn’t get what she wants. I wouldn’t want my kids to have to be the brunt of her “OCD/crazy behavior. She’s borderline abusive in my eye’s.
It seems Jon has somewhat of a head on his shoulders and you would think he’d step up. Maybe he’s afraid. Who knows. Maybe he enjoys being talked to like a dog. Either way..it sickens me.
In my opinion, I think Jon came from money. And Kate was isolated in a church somewhere. Neither one of them seem to have any kind of people skills to be able to hold a job. So..this is how they chose to make a living. But, my question is..Do they care how people see them? And..I also find it odd how neither one has any family around. I’ve read stories about why that may be. But, I think Kate isolated Jon from HIS family. Kate dumped hers for whatever reason and they are “trying” to make up for all they lost through those 8 kids. I garuntee you that they either adopt( although I think in PA that they are at the max for kids in the home as it is..and I know they have strict rules about adoption in mnay states). Beacause having kids has been so easy for them. They don’t have to work. They don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They get everything handed to them. Well, they aren’t that old. And when TLC cancels them..I’d like to know what Kate has planned next. Im sure it has something to do with those kids.

I saw the show last night. Kate was asked if she would buy each child a car when they turn 16 or 18 or whatever. Her reply was, “No, because when they are 18 they can get a job and earn their OWN money and buy their OWN cars. ” Does McCauley Caulkin ring a bell Kate???????Good grief!!!!!!! Those kids have been earning a paycheck 3 days a week since birth!!!!

Holy crap the kids are going to be so brainwashed into thinking their life is handed to them in every way shape and form they won’t be able to function as a normal person trying to survive in the “real world”. I HOPE that money the kids are making is being put away in a trust fund or college fund or something and that stupid bitch Kate doesn’t have say in where it goes. if you all hate the show why do you watch it, it doesnt make sense. as far as im concerned the kids are well-behaved, they whole family is understresss and they are coping the best way they can. The cameras dont make the family situation worse, and J&K are not exploiting their children. In fact having the crew around is probably a relief for the kids because they get more attention and get to interact with people outside their family on a regular basis, which helps build there interaction skills. I watched the 1hr show about twins twins and sextuplits; if anyone has seen that you would see what poor behaved children act like. Yes, her kids will sometimes bite, hit, or push eachother but Kate doesnt have 8 sets of eyes and she cant see everything each child does. The kids most likely dont do this because of bad parenting but in their situation they have consistant competition with eachother for material belongs and attention. For all the parents who are writing on this blog acting like J&K are so bad at parenting, your kids are probably doing something you dont approve of when your not looking as well. As far as the issue of Kate and her parents relationship, unless her parents or she is writing on the blog then nobody really knows. Im 18 and have just meet my grandfather last month, this was not my mothers fault but due my grandfather. Stop putting all the blame on Kate, she has more stress then i could ever imagine and may have had some problems with her parents but its irrelevant.

There is NOBODY to blame for what is going on in that house except for JON and KATE..they had these kids that they can’t control…can’t parent…can’t love on like they should be ..they are too damn worried about what they can scam off the media industry with this craziness next. Point blank.
It’s sad and the ones that are suffering are those kids.
I for one even though I don’t watch it…and won’t watch it can’t wait till somebody told me it’s been pulled or cancelled. Maybe then Jon and Kate will be forced back into REAL LIFE and have to learn to deal with what they thought they wanted. If not maybe they can put the kids up for adoption.

Everyone who really cares about those kids should go to TLC’s site. It will take you a minute to figure out how to email them but it’s there. They need to put those babies money in an account Jon & Kate cannot touch. Then they live off of whatever Jon & kate make.
I wrote to them telling them the reason people watched the show was because they were struggling.
Please there really is documentation that Kate and her family are estranged because his church donated cribs for the babies, and she rejected them because they weren’t new.
The show lost it’s charm (Jon & Cara & the little ones not included), when Kate got greedy. Don’t you know if the Jodie rumors were not true they would be denying it, and addressing it.
TLC has in my opinion destroyed their own show. One final thought. I guarantee you that Kate will be estranged if not from all at least most of those children. She has no concept of anyones needs beyond her own. One day those kids are going to ask for their money.

A few years from now, we will be reading where Maddy is suing her parents for HER money. I would hope that TLC has went to great links to protect these kids by putting money in trusts just for them. What disturbs me most about this show now is, like many have said, it is no longer about the difficulties of raising a large family. It is about what the Gosselin’s can get for free. I myself am one of 7 children. My parents worked for general motors during the good times, but we struggled and did without. Kate would not know what to do, if she had to do without. I think she probably came from a middle class family that struggled and she had to go without. I can see her being very jealous of those who had more. Jon probably was coddled and not made to do much in his family. Things were probably always handed to him. Hence his work ethic. Now both parents have resorted to exploiting their children for material gain. Being a parent of 2 sets of twins, we struggle and at times we do without and that is OK! Every family has dysfunction, but the Gosselins take the cake.

I also agree Beverly. You just KNOW that the money being made now will not be properly put away for those children for later. I know that I read somewhere that the State of Pa put away college money for each child. So, I believe that’s already set up. But it would be nice if the money that Jon and Kate make from TLC was put away for other events the children will someday encounter like cars, house’s, etc. The children are the one’s who actually made this money in the first place. Jon and Kate wouldn’t be famous or have a show is it weren’t for those kids. So, I can only hope that each child has a nice bank account with someone other than Jon or Kate to manage it. It would def help them later in life. You know Kate’s answer to the kids about the money will be “Its our money” ( meaning hers and Jons)

And..that’s fine NOT to agree. But, the problem that Kate has with her family and friends is clearly due to her greed. Someone posted recently that if the alligations regarding Kate’s family were untrue that she would be out there denying those “rumours”. She got rid of Aunt Jody and I also believe she got rid of the other friend she had too. I can’t remeber her name..the one in that huge house in Pa..lol. Either way..I believe that you’ll find years from now many of the children end up not speaking to their parents. My mother raised 6 kids all under the age of 9. (a set of twins in the mix). She worked at a convenience store while she put herself through college to become a nurse (which influenced me to become a nurse). My dad was a truck driver and built our house with the help of my grandfather. We are all very close today as adults and have many children among us who are together often. I know I am boring you. My point is…how can people think Kate is SUCH the HERO? I think these people are majorly brainwashed by these adorable tups. Kate would not be doing this if it was so difficult and it didn’t pay high dividends. Heroes are people like my mom. Honest and worked hard for everything in her life, including good relationships with family and friends.

I just saw the episode where they go to Disney on Youtube, and I could not believe Kate’s reaction about the ice cream! My philosophy is to never dress my kids in anything that I don’t mind getting dirty–that’s what washing machines are for!!
And then here is a quote from Kate–directly out of her mouth–that I cannot believe she would have the nerve to say: “I miss so many things with my kids because of this darn camera!” This was in part 4 of the video on youtube. She was talking about (I believe) Jon’s camera…now how can a little picture-taking camera interfere so much, yet the video cameras, crew, etc. are not a problem???

Lynn and Beverly -You both bring up interesting pints. I know that KON will be putting money aside for the kids, for college, and for future expenses. Remember when they did their wills and other legal paperwork. It was an episode last year. I figured out that for each kids college it would cost about $80,000. Now, this would be a cheaper in state college, where they can maybe live at home. The money they would need would be $640,000. From what I have read online, and who knows if its right, just last year they earned $2.4 million from the show alone. No church love offerings, no book deals, no free stuff. All of that is on top of the $2.4 million. I could believe that the kids will fight for their money, too. By the end of the whole thing, they are going to make like $10,000,000. That is a lot of money, esp. for someone who is thrifty like Kate.
Java -I’m ignoring a certain someone in hopes they go away. And I know its killing them because they are fighting with you, lol!!!
Tammy – Its is on film that the governor of PA gave each of the sextuplets a college fund. You can even look for it via the state website. so, there is a base already for the kids college funds. See my above comment for more math!
JuJu – I went to college w/ a guy who was #14 of #15 kids. His parents both worked AND put all 15 thru college at Michigan State. Those people are hero’s for saving and providing for their kids with their blood and sweat. They didn’t sit on their butts like Kate, who just organizes and cleans countertops, does laundry and goes on trips. That ain’t my idea of a hero or a role model.
Motherof2 – You made an excellent point. This is why she is always monotone, because she is burning her candle traveling, writing books, and making deals for free stuff. I NEVER see her just play with the kids. NEVER. Not all six, and not the boys. She just likes Hannah and Leah. So not fair.

OK. Having children is not an ALTERNATE CAREER. They are little people that you can fuck up real nice if you have them for the following reasons: your marriage is in the shitter, you just want someone to love, you need attention, you can only love a child you force from a small portal in your body, the rubber broke, your bored. I just wanted to say that I work with children at church just about the Gosselin kids ages. Actually if I had sextuplets and was offered a TV show, this age is ideal for that. They can talk and stand up for themselves. They have a somewhat longer attention span. They are fully potty trained. Mainly at 4 they have a sense of awe about things, and everything they do at that age is a learning experience. Mady and Cara started at the age the sextuplets are now and they seem to be handing it all pretty well. As long as everything is tempered with learning that not everyone is on TV, and that friends outside the TV world are important (as they help build self esteem), then these children will be fine.
As far as the money goes. I’ll tell you the truth. If I could have sang or been on TV as a kid, so that my life could be easier as an adult, I would have done it in a heart beat. I was always outgoing and probably could have carried a whole sitcom on my own at the Sextuplets age. I was that kid who was 4 going on 45 because I could talk and sing like a grown up.
On a side note, the drama thing with Mady is pretty typical for kids her age. Especially kids that have younger siblings. They tend to be a little jealous occasionally and will act out to get attention. As the sextuplets get older and take less of Mom and Dad’s time, Mady will mostly get over her drama. Not all of it though – once a drama queen, always a drama queen.
As far as the parental thing with Kate and her parents is concerned, I won’t believe any of that until I hear it first hand from Kate. I tend to believe they might have had some religious differences rather than personal ones.

Have you done any studies on what has happened to most kids thrown into these situations and those kids were born actors/actresses either by natural talent or by being in the whole name game scene….these are just normal kids who were thrown into it. Do you actually think they are going to get through this without emotional scars?

I am not in Kate’s shoes, but I certainly have read and watched a lot of tv specials showing child stars and how they lives were messed up by being on tv and movies at an early age. This concerns me.

I can’t believe you think these children will be just fine. You can look at the many child stars that have lots of psych issues. Mccauley Caulkin, Danny Bonaducci, Jody Sweetin, Todd Bridges, and Dana Plato. I could go on and on. I have not heard of many success stories in adulthood. Many have bad feelings toward their parents and many even had to sue them. Most of us have psych issues, but these kids seem to have double the chance of leading dysfunctional adult lives. Unfortunately, these children will have to display this dysfunction in the public eye, unlike most of us who can deal with it in private. It really seems like a loveless family. I am not saying that J&K don’t love their children, but the expressions of love seem absent. Sad really.

If you don’t like the show, don’t watch it. Yes I am sure they get quite a bit of free stuff and compensation from the show and such, but nobody has a gun held to their head to give them stuff. And they definitely teach their kids about giving back like the episode where they have a yard sale getting rid of the kids old toys and the proceeds will go to pediatric cancer research.
They also did that episode where they bought a ton of toys to give to the kids at St. Jude. And honestly doing that show was great exposure for the hospital because as I was watching that episode I got my checkbook and sent in a donation to St. Jude.
For the people that want to comment about Kat’s relationship with her parents, don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Everyone has had fall outs with some friend or family member, how would you like the whole world judging you for that?
I also don’t understand why everyone thinks that Kate ended their relationship with her brother and sister-in-law. Maybe they did, maybe they had some personal conflict with them that would happen to anybody…or maybe the two just don’t want to be part of the show anymore. Newsflash, people can be in the families lives without appearing on the show, they don’t tape every minute of their lives.

Haha. I just watched a rerun where they all go to the train park, or whatever. None of her children want to sit with her on any of the train rides. The third time it happens she muses aloud, “Why doesn’t anyone want to sit with me?!” and Jon mutters under his breath, “It’s because you’re groutchy.”

Also, I saw a hilarious preview tonight for the new season of The Children of the Corn (aka the Duggars). For some reason Jim Bob and Michelle end up in a head shop looking over a case of glass pipes with Jim Bob saying something like “Oh those are some interesting glass pieces.” WTF, TLC?

Bobbycat – I had a boyfriend who once sold his blood to buy my flowers from my high school graduation. It was the saddest thing I had ever heard. Poor college kid. I am sorry for anyone struggling to make it in this economy. Did you hear about the guy who shot his wife and 5 kids before killing himself today? So sad!
Java & Lynn – I think that the house was bought as a repo sale … so it was empty for months … thus the mildew in the fridge. Explains why someone would leave poop in a barn, right? That house was nice … lots of room and space. I’m surprised Hannah is getting her own room. I thought Kate had said Alexis is getting one of her own. So, Mommy’s favorite gets her own room instead.
Amy – Did you see KAte pay at the register @ Kmarts? NOPE. There was a reason for that … she didn’t pay!

Did you catch Kate’s comments when she was looking out the window — something like “all of this is mine as far as the eye can see.” Lol, of course she wouldn’t say “ours.”
As far as the rooms go, I would think the twins would be resentful. Don’t most families let the oldest kids get their own rooms if available?
And, lastly, did I catch Kate saying one of the little girls gets migraines? At that age???

The Berks County bitch can walk into Gymboree and Gap to get whatever she wants free of charge and she isn’t even nice to the sales girls. She just expects everything to be handed to her and it seems like she is pretty much getting her way.
I have yet to hear anything nice about her. She is ungrateful, unloving, and the word about her friend is that TLC wanted her be seen more on the show and Kate said No, this show is about ME, not you. Which of course, led to bad feelings. (I didn’t actually witness that conversation, only heard it from her friend.)
I feel sorry for the kids, they deserve a better mother.

I wasn’t really surprised that the twins went to the orthodontist, especially with how messed up Mady’s teeth are (that’s actually how I usually tell them apart on the show).
I started going to the ortho when I was 7 to get a device installed in the roof of my mouth to force me to stop sucking my thumb (clearly, NOT my idea). I can’t remember what it was called but it basically clamped down on my thumb if I stuck in it in my mouth.
When I was in 5th grade I got my first set of braces, top teeth only, which instantly made me the coolest kid in school cause I was the only kid at the time with braces.
Throughout middle school I wore headgear (at night only, thank god) to fix my overbite. Then, in high school I had full braces (by then it had the opposite effect on my “cool factor”)
Young teeth are easier to fix, because your teeth get harder and harder to move as you get older. I actually think the Gosslins made a good decision (gasp!) by taking them to see an ortho. No doubt, however, that they will not be seeing a single orthodontic bill in their mailbox…another in their long line of freebies.

My kids went to the orthodontist early on the advice of the general dentist. Both kids are in braces now. Jen512 is right — young teeth are easier to fix. My son had to have his palate expanded and it’s harder to do the older you get.
Of course, my dental insurance covered part and I’m paying on the rest . I don’t have any corporate sponsors to underwrite my family.

Thanks Sally. Ugh, they wanted to do one of those palate things to me too, and I’m glad I didn’t have to. They look like medieval torture device with the key thing… Just keep reminding him that it’ll all be worth it in the end! I was very thankful to my parents for spending their hard earned money so that I could have good teeth. Most of the work they do on young children is so they will need to spend fewer years in braces when they’re older. That’s probably what the doctor is doing for Cara and Mady.

I just watched the “New House” episode of J&K. I, myself, can’t believe that this family is now living in a mansion. And..I also was honestly bored with Kate cleaning out the fridge for a half hour..lol. Who care’s Kate!! Of course you couldn’t just be happy with enjoying the new home that TLC bought for you..lol.
As far as Maddy’s migraine’s…I’m not sure if I buy that. She’s kind of young. Although it’s NOT unheard of for a child to experiance migraine like headache’s. I would attribute Maddy’s headaches to stress. From what I have observed with this child..she seems to be under a tremendous amount of stress and has demonstrated that with signs on her door reading ” Stay out camera’s..unless invited.” That’s sad.
I think this family’s ride is coming to a slow end..there are to many family’s with different “family” situations for TLC to completely concentrate on Jon and Kate. And..when that happens ( and I can’t wait for that day) Jon and Kate will probably be forced to go back out into the work world like the rest of us. In these economic times..there is no way those two can afford to maintain all of the children ( with Kate’s HIGH standards) pay taxes, etc. There is NO way they can afford this lifestyle with no income..even if they did save alot of the TLC money.
I think the show is getting boring, honestly..Other than Kate and her nasty BS..thats the only reason I watch..lol!!

Hi Lynn…Thank You. I think you’re right..it was Hannah who had the migraine’s.Which..as a paramedic..if it is Hannah..she’s WAY to young to have migraine’s. And..migraine’s are terribly painful. Has Kate brought this child to see a Dr. to diagnos migraine’s? Because if my 4 year old was experiencing horrible headache’s described as migraines..then..I would surely bring her/him to a specialist. Just like Kate apperently diagnosed herself as having PCOS..then she clearly has no problem diagnosing migraine’s regrading her own 4 year old child.
With Kate being a so called nurse. I am surprised that she doesn’t find her daughters headache’s alarming. She said it on TV very “matter of factly” like it was normal for a 4 year old to have that bad of a headache on a somewhat normal basis.
I still can’t understand how other woman find Kate’s actions and behaviors normal. She exhibit’s very strange behavior from most woman I’ve ever come in contact with. She acts very strange and doesn’t seem to even be aware that most woman can’t stand her. I also believe she could care less that we as woman feel bad for her husband. We all look at him as a total slave/child. When she barks ordered while sitting in a chair..puts a very sick kid on a laundry room floor, shows the world her childs bathroom “time”, behave’s so nasty in public allowing her 8 kids to run around in stores like no one else matters but her. She’s a horrible example of a woman and a mother. She would be SO pissed if people spoke to her the way she speaks and acts to others..she’d have a shit fit! If I allowed my entire family to run around like maniacs in her home..and just acted liek it never happened..she’s freak out! You ALL know it! Lol!
Kate’s had everything handed to her from day one. Not everyone has even had one thing Kate has been given. What would she honestly be like without TLC? Would Jon be working? Would Kate be working? Would they live in a mansion?
I’m interested in what the people who enjoy and like the show have to say about that? What would Jon and Kate’s like be without TLC and ANY publicity??? And..how long do you think this show will run? Another 2 years is my guess..honestly. I enjoy reading everyone’s thoughts…good and bad. Just don’t come and offend me or anyone else for an opinion. Write with respect even if you DON’T agree.

Tammy-I agree 4 is very young to be having migraines. I suppose it is not impossible, but I sure wouldn’t take Nurse Kate’s diagnosis as real. She said Hannah gets this, if she doesn’t get enough sleep. That is not unsual, but migraine, I doubt. Can you imagine what kind of practicing nurse Kate was? If I remember correctly, she worked in the OB/GYN unit. How would you like to have her as your labor and delivery nurse? NO THANKS. Better yet, how would you like to take care of her when she was hospitalized for those months? Most of the nurses I know have compassion and actually care about people. Kate is neither of these!
I just read somewhere that the lady who had the Octops also has 6 other children. I bet TLC is jumping at that chance! Maybe the end of freebies is near for J&K.

I could NEVER imagine Kate as a nurse..lol! She must have been AWFUL in dealing with sick people. And, I could also never imagine her as a patient, either. I’m sure that she rang that nurse bell every 2 seconds and acted like SHE was the only patient in that hospital. Just the way she STILL acts as if she’s the only one with sextuplets or a parent of more than 2 kids!
What I am still confused about is..I watched an early episode of J&K..and Kate said she was a Dialysis nurse..not a L&D nurse. I did see the episode where the entire G family toured the NIC unit where the tups were born and either Kate or someone else mentioned she was a L&D nurse. Maybe she was both, it’s def possible. Im thinking when she worked P/T after the kids were born..she was a Dialysis nurse and before the kids she was a L&D nurse..IDK. She contradicts herself all the time anyway, so I can’t keep up! Just like she ONLY spends 100 dollars at the food store and the cash register clearly said 300 dollars ( cant remeber exact amount but it was def MORE than what Kate bragged about!) Does she realize that all of us viewers can see what that register said?? We’re not stupid!
Lynn – I think you’re def on to something with TLC finding a new family to take the J&K place. It’s only a matter of time before TLC finds another family with more interesting aspects! The Octops def seem alot more interseting. In my opinion J&K is getting boring. It’s the same thing over and over..just a diff subject. I really was NOT interested in watching Kate clean out a fridge in her new million dollar mansion. Wasn’t there anything else they could have touched on for that episode? We all must have seen Kate fill a bucket of soapy water 3 times! Who the hell care’s! I can fill a bucket too and TLC isn’t knocking on my door!
Just like very popular sitcoms..J&K will come to an end and Im not sure if J&K are aware of that. They def don’t seem to deal with reality well. So, I would say they think this show will go on forever! No show, sitcom, reality show, etc. has ever gone on for more than a few years! Im sure TLC is always looking for more interesting family’s to capture! Can you imagine when TLC tells J&K that there ride is over?? Kate’s gonna freak!

I know Kate was a nurse because a newspaper in PA back in the days before the show printed that … but I don’t think she was Labor and Delivery. But if you watched the episodes where they showed their old videos before the kids were born she seemed very sweet and nice … so, she could have been a very good nurse for all we know.

Read this interview of Beth Carson that I found. She states that Kate did contribute but she reiterates several times that she wrote the book for them. Unfortunately there’s no real date on the article, the date at the top simply refers to the last time the article was refreshed on that website’s server.
I continue to wonder if Beth and Kate are still friends, there’s less evidence out there of a rift like the Jodi thing. But I think the fact that Kate never mentions Beth EVER when talking about the book is very telling. This is ridiculous!
#1. I do not believe that Kate would turn down donations for her family when she, Jon and their children had to reside at a Ronald McDonald house when the sextuplets were born. You could not possibly know the problems and family issues that kate had with her parents.
#2. You have no way of knowing what physical problems Kate may or may not have had in regards to having children. Also, You have no way of knowing why they decided not to adopt, it may have not been their fault at all.
#3. Yes, Kara and Mady did visit a talent agency but Kate did not push them into acting, as far as I know thats all they did with the acting. And Jon and Kate have said several times that if the children don’t want to be involved in that days filming then they aren’t. If they don’t feel like going near a camera they don’t.
#4. They have also said before that they did not think that the show would become what it did. They were in need at one point and they were able come out of it using the show. They now say they are not in need and have donated many things to people who are in need.
They had a huge yard sale and donated all profits to children with cancer and bought a lot of Christmas presents for kids with cancer and have donated money. Also, the neighbor that folded their laundry had nothing to do with the show. Their babysitters also have nothing to do with the show, usually family friends help with babysitting.
As far as homeschooling goes, I don’t know about the sextuplets but Kara and Mady go to a private school. It’s really no ones business how Jon and Kate choose to educate their children.
I am not saying that I am correct on all of these issues but I believe that this site is just a bunch of random rumors. I think it is ridiculous that people just sit around, make these things up and post them online.
You say that this site was not made to bash Jon and Kate but that is exactly what you did. I think it’s great that they were once in poverty and had the chance to pull themselves out and took it. I believe most people would do the same thing. They may get thousands of dollars from every episode but that is no different from any other TV show or job. It sounds like some people are just jealous and bashing them in jealousy! Why should you choose how other people choose to make a living for themselves?
If you don’t like the show then don’t watch it.

Al – Jon got laid off, and instead of Kate continuing to work, she quit her nursing job so they collect state aid. That is a red flag to me. And I read this in a PA newspaper, not some random website. Because of her medical condition, she could have gotten paid via FMLA. You and I both don’t know if Kate paid for those toys, for all we know Kmart donated them, or the show bought them. If you don’t like my blog post, don’t comment on it.

Why do people keep saying that Kon gives back? Oh wow, they had a yard sale (with things that they probably didn’t even buy) and gave the measely (sp) couple hundred bucks to charity. I guess that they should do that since they have taken so much! I heard that it costs about $65,000/baby for preemies per hospital stay…x6! And they didn’t pay for that–the gov’t did!

thegirlfromtheghetto- I was using my freedom of speech as you stated earlier in the blog. And I will agree with you that we don’t know who paid for the toys. But I do know that you can only get FMLA six weeks out of the year. Kate had to quit her job to take care of the kids. Daycare for 8 children would be outrageous even with 2 working parents.

Just saw the comments re. J&K saying they wanted to adopt a Korean girl. Under the current regulations for adopting from Korea they have too many children already in the home. Korea states up to 4 children in the home are allowed.
I know this because my bro and SIL adopted their son and then their daughter from Korea. Our dd was born in China.
Please God for the sake of the 8 children they already have I pray that woman is not pregnant!

Just watched the Utah clips. Gee, I keep my heat at 67 when we’re home and at 60 when we’re not. I’ve love the chance to workout 2 hours a day. I don’t have time between my full time job and my mommy/wife job.
Did you notice every other word out of his mouth was “like.” He’s like the father of like 8 like kids like. I can see why Kate’s doing the public speaking.
I do have a confession to make. I got a lot of free trips all over the world as a kid. That was only because my dad had a job that required us to live out of the country. The only corporate sponsor was his employer and the only film used was in my dad’s camera.

Great post! I’m getting a HUGE kick out of people complaining about you wasting your time… while wasting their own time to comment! Too funny.
#1 – If you don’t like this blog – don’t read it!
#2 – If you don’t agree with the blog – so what? It’s called having a right to your own opinions.
#3 – It’s ridiculous to accuse everyone of being jealous if they express negative comments about the show or their perception of the family. I wish there was some kind of IQ test required before people posted asinine comments like that but hey – freedom of speech (see #2 above).
Anyway, now that that’s off my chest-
I’ve been a fan of the show since the beginning – read the Multiple Blessing book and everything – but the product plugs are getting to me. I don’t mind their getting freebies (it’s part of the gig) but it’s just so “in your face” now that it’s annoying me. Kate’s reading “Despereaux” to the kids appeared entirely staged and every show seems to be plugging a book, a CD, etc. I’m not saying they can’t or shouldn’t do stuff like that; I just don’t like watching it. The show’s lost some appeal to me continues to lose more I hear about rifts with Beth & Jodi. To me, their warmth really balanced the harshness Kate displays.
Does anyone have a link to the Larry King episode? I missed it and would like to see it.

I have watched the show, I think the children seem well adjusted. They are being filmed while carrying out their day, so what?

Mar y – I’m going to be honest with you. I see bad things and wrong things happen at my work often. I, just like many of my co-workers am afraid of getting fired. Many people get fired for speaking up … that’s why they have whistle blower laws … but some people don’t have the fight in them to want to take it to court. Look at my ex-major, Kwame Kilpatrick. Cost the city of Detroit millions of dollars because he fired police who spoke against him …
Having said this … I am not saying that something bad is going on off and on camera on this show … I am just thinking out loud that maybe all of this television is not so good for the kids. I don’t personally care what they get … but the show has turned into look at where we go today instead of look who hard it is to get a picture of all the kids in the pumpkin patch.
I wanna go out on a limb here and say that people like the single woman who know has 14 kids is getting it in her head that if you have all these kids then you will be entitled to a bunch of free stuff. Its just not right to expect that society will take care of you. And, how hard will it be for her if no one steps in, offers her a show and speaking engagements and she has to raise 14 kids alone? Her own mom has said she is done.

Forgot to Tivo Friday’s The Soup! (was at ER with my kid with potential injuries from car accident from 9pm until 2:30am-he’s ok. Our first adventure with Kaiser and hopefully it’ll be the last, but that’s a whole ‘nother rant), HOWEVER, Friday’s 2/6 episode repeats tonight 2/8 @ 11pm. I didn’t find link to ‘Clip of the Week’ (which was Kon) online, so glad it’s repeating again tonight.

You would be thinking of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, we’re different people. Kate certainly has tendencies that rival being a type A personalty, she likes to be in control. I certainly see characteristic traits that I find odd, but nothing to get alarmed about. I see myself in her in that respect.
I have seen recent shows, I just don’t see where the children are not stable or not well-adjusted.

These children are being raised in a box! They have had their extended family withheld from them. They were not allowed to play with the children in their now old neighborhood. They witness constance verbal abuse from their mother towards their father. From the time they were born, these kids have been groomed to be cute and things will be given to you. This mainly because they are 6. What happens when the camera’s are gone and each child goes their own direction? The kids will not know how to function. They have only witnessed parents who make a living off of them. Let’s face it these kids are all but well adjusted! These kids are nothing more than Kate’s little money makers in a controlled enviroment. Do you see them socializing with other children their age? T-ball, soccer, or something outside the Kate’s box. Just take a look at Maddy’s behavior. That is not well adjusted. This girl is growing up in her 6 siblings shadow. Maddy is example enough.

Mary one of the little girls has migraines, one of them sleeps alone in the basement, one (Maddy) is angry at the world, and in my opinion the ability to seriously hurt someone. Cara carries the weight of the world on her little shoulders. She holds the criticism, and anxiety in until she explodes. The boys are virtually ignored by Kate, she did not go on one outing with the boys. Have you ever put a really sick child on the floor in the laundry room alone with a throw up bucket by the child so that they didn’t mess up the bed? If you have never played with other children, other than Jody’s and thanks to Kate they don’t have hers or Beth’s to play with anymore your world becomes very small. Add to that no grandparents, aunts, or uncles, cousins, or friends, no outside activities. Add to that a mother who never says a kind word to their father, & now a mother who is on the road and away from home selling books.
I actually feel very sorry for Jon. He does play with the children. He obviously has had no way out. Maybe with money he can get out and create a happy home for the children. He talked about his brother a lot recently, but Kate will never let that happen. It still bothers me that the little ones spend so much time in a corner, but Maddy just needs sugar, a little time in her room alone, and I don’t remember ever seeing her in the corner. I can only imagine the nightmare the babies will go through as puberty, and the most controlling mother in the universe collide.

Fuck me, what a lot of bollocks!!!!
First of all before I say anything, I am neither a fan nor a hater of J&K, but half of you that post on here surely can’t be parents.
Screw me I have five kids and thank fuck they aren’t perfect, and to be honest I don’t think I would want them to be either. They’re kids, they’re entitled to be grumpy, moody, say things to embarrass us, or say things that totally take us by surprise and make our hearts glow.
These kids are only being themselves, yes I agree Mady is a little madam, but to be honest I don’t think she would be any different if the cameras weren’t there, it’s just in her nature.
Think about it honestly, put yourself in these parent’s shoes. 8 kids half or more are sick at any given time, your constantly doing washing because they’re throwing up all over the place their is only so much you can do to try and keep up with this, I know I’ve been there, and I’ve also put my kids in a designated area with blankets and pillows, so fuck me if that makes me a bad parent I’m going to shoot myself now.
I also had to laugh about how terrible they were as parents because Cara and Mady had cavities….. two of my kids also have cavities and seeing an orthodontist, again that doesn’t make me a bad parent, yet these parents are being sent to the slaughter house for exactly that.
Too fucking tired at this point to continue.

I think you are missing most of our points. Most of us feel the Kate’s behavior is to question here, not the childrens. I AM a mother of 2 sets of twins myself. I know how hectic things can be. My children nor myself are perfect. However, I nuture my children and try to the best of my ability to meet their emotional needs. I also DO NOT belittle them or my husband, slap my husband, and seclude them from most human contact other than our family. My children also have had dental work. My daughter had her first retainer at the age of 7.
Thanks for your opinion of our opinions, but I really think you are missing most of the points made here.

Sorry, but why can’t someone write or respond without cussing. I have been there as well, Mom of 5 plus 1, six children, and we have had 5 with the flu at the same time, and I have never and would never put my children in a laundry room with a raging fever, and a bucket. Think about this Mom of 5, most of the time we thought Kate had little help. Now we know that she had a host of volunteers folding clothes, ironing, and she was in fact not cooking all those meals. In fact every episode that we see her cooking, she is in fact not cooking. Craft services provides meals on the days they film. That means that is all phony.
So Mom of 5, Kate with 8 has it much easier than you. Nannys, babysitters, and now she is just on the road all the time.
Mom of 5 when children are sick they need to be pampered, and loved on, and cared for, but hopefully we are all doing the best we can.
