Last year at this time I was on my honeymoon. And today I’m sad, as I want to be back in England, Scotland, and France. But, my husband and I are not rich, and so we just laid low this Memorial Day weekend. But let’s get back to the honeymoon …
Actually, I had gotten married the summer before after being engaged for one day. It was a great story, I was attempting to do laundry when I heard a knock-knock at my door early on a Saturday morning. My then boyfriend pulled out a ring, got down on one knee and told me let’s get married today. I love a challenge, and worked like a crazy person for the next two hours on the internet … and we were on a plane within a few hours … and married at sunset in the Valley of Fire (Sahara Desert) the next night. I wish I could post the pictures … but he is evil cautious and refuses to let me put his picture up here … so I’m going to blur him out.
So, we ran away to get married, and I had to come home, go straight to work, and take my accounting midterm the next day. By the way, I got a 4.0 in all three of my classes that semester … even though my evil boss would not let me take one day off that month to study or move. So, needless to say … we had to delay our honeymoon by ten months or so … And here are a few great pictures from that trip …

Hi! You don’t know me, but you seem like a very interesting person! Lovely pictures!
And I know what you mean about your Plus-sized kitty! I call my Gizmo Fatty McChunky, though he is losing weight. I feed him Iams indoor kibble (it’s in the aquamarine package…it seems to work!)
Great pictures! Now I want to go to Europe, too.
Gorgeous wedding shot and the honeymoon, even though delayed, looks fabulous as well!
Oh, that is such a sweet story!!! And the trip to Europe sounds absolutely wonderful.
wow – those are gorgeous photos! I especially love the wedding shot! How amazing. congratulations!
i still love your story:)
Thanks everyone. Those were great memories for me …
Beautiful pics.
I went to Scotland and England a couple of years ago. My niece got married in a beautiful Scottish castle. Traditional Scottish wedding with the kilts and all. I loved Scotland and would love to go back.
BTW Happy Late Anniversary!
Happy anniversary! Sounds like a great marriage and honeymoon. England is beautiful, I can totally see why you’d go there. Never been to Scotland though, which I hope to do soon!
The wedding photo is absolutely perfect. My niece went to England and Iceland for her honeymoon. She loved London. I have always wanted to see Stonehenge. I have my mini Stonehenge set up in my room. The photos of England make me want to go there even more. Happy Anniversary!!!
Thanks Joan!
TPB – Wow, I can’t believe you went to a wedding in a Scottish castle. I am so jealous …
Everyone else, thanks again for the anniversary wishes – although my actual anniversary isn’t until July.
Who can blame you!
Who doesn’t get sad that vaca’s don’t last forever or that we aren’t wealthy enough to say F-Work and F-Credit and off to a Holiday we go!
Lovely wedding pic btw! Absolutely fabulous and exciting story!
Thanks queen!

Married one day after being proposed to in the desert at sunset, off to Europe and go to a wedding in a Scottish castle. Aah, such is your life. If a bunch of your stories share such parallels of spectacularity you should turn blogging in a book.
