Did anyone have a happy Mothers Day?

May 11, 2008 · 3 Comments

It’s Mothers Day, but I didn’t see any happy mothers @  the emergency room.  I saw a lot of adult children talking on their cell phones, ignoring their sick mothers, while waiting un-patiently for their mothers to get out of triage.  I also saw a ridiculous foreign couple refuse to give their sick child a chest x-ray.  (WTF?)

Yes, I was @ the hospital today, not from the Bronchitis, or the Asthma, or my Ankylosing Spondylitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteo Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, but from bending over to do laundry.  Yep, laundry.  I am in so much pain I couldn’t even sit down to pee yesterday.  I gave in to go to the ER because I was afraid I blew out a disk, as I have 7 and counting that are torn, herniated, bulging and/or protrouding.  Nope, all I have is a bad bad case of Sciatica.  OMG, I have never felt any pain like this.  Sucks.  I’m on a ton of drugs, and have to go to work tomorrow, even though I feel this bad.  Almost out of sick days.

But, I did however get a lovely basket of purple flowers from my step-children.  I’d take a picture if I could walk down the stairs again.  But here is a close picture.  Petunias remind me of my grandma.  And they make me very happy.  And Miss Beatrice gave me this lovely card.

I am glad you are feeling better. I hate going to the ER. It’s a sucky place to spend Mother’s Day whether you’re a mother or not.
