Poor John Locke. Always the loser. Always the underdog. Tonight’s episode shows us how John finally gets his moment to shine. To earn the respect of his peers, to finally be that high school quarterback who wins the game. Here is some great moments from tonight’s episode “Cabin Fever.:
- In a flashback we see a young pretty girl named Emily get hit by a car while 6 months pregnant. Her mother was yelling at her, as she was running to meet her older boyfriend. Both she and the baby survive. She names the baby John and abandons him at the hospital. We hear a nurse comment how this baby was a miracle baby, who he as the youngest preemie ever to survive. Then we see Dr. Richard Alpert, and the nurse assumes he is the bastard child’s much older father. Even though it is around 1950, Richard looks the exact same age.
- John is home with his adoptive family when Dr. Richard Alpert comes to visit him again. Richard runs a special school for gifted children. We see a creeping picture mini John Locke has drawn of what looks like Smokey from “The Island” killing a man. Richard pulls out a bunch of crap for John to pick an item that belongs to him, and John picks the big knife, which was obviously not his. Richard leaves in disgust.

- We see a teenage John Locke stuffed into a locker, and saved from his nerdy teacher. The teacher tells him about a science summer camp in Portland run by a company named Mittelos Bioscience headed by no other than Dr. Richard Alpert. Hmmmm ….. John tells the teacher he’s into sports and not science and gets downright nasty saying something like “Don’t tell me who I am/or what to do.” (I’ve got Bronchitis tonight people, so I can’t remember every detail.) He refuses to go. So twice he refuses to go Richard.

- John is at his Physical Therapy place when the orderly strikes up a conversation with John, and tells him how he survived that fall, etc. Tells him to go to Australia and go on a walkabout. Discover himself. Tells him how he did it himself, and he changed. And this man promised John they’d meet again. This man was … not Richard, but that black man that visited Hurley at the mental home .. and the man who was Naomi’s boss, the man working for Mr. Widmore, Matthew Abaddon.
Freaky Deaky people! - It’s my conclusion that “The Island” brought John Locke to it, since he wouldn’t come willingly. And, after viewing the end of the episode, I feel that all of our major characters have good reason to be on that plane as well. We all know this. But I’m getting too far ahead of myself….

- John has a dream while searching for the cabin . He meets a man named Horace, who is cutting down trees. He tells him he’s been dead for twelve years. And he starts bleeding from the nose. Soemhow, John wakes up and realizes what he has to do. He takes Hurley and Ben to the mass grave of the DHARMA Initiative, and starts digging around in the grave. He finds the dead body of Horace, and pulls out a map to the cabin. What is weird is that Horace had a mathmatition patch on his shirt. Even weird, I thought, was why was a mathmatition chopping down trees. And that is when the thunder bolt hit me hard. Horace is Horace Goodspeed, of Horace and Olivia Goodspeed, the couple who help Ben’s parents in the woods, and ultimately give a job to Ben’s father Roger, which brings Ben to the island. Interesting, right? I’d say so. So “The Island” found Ben as well.
- Martin Keamy, the nut job back on our boat the Kahana, gets a sos signal from our gang at the beach saying that the doctor washed up on shore with his throat cut. Later that night, as Keamy goes nuts and kills the captain, he also becomes suspicious of the doctor, and slits his throat, and throws him overboard. No need to be suspicious, that was just the weird time travel thing “The Island” has going on. Keamy forces Frank to fly them back, and Keamy plans on torching “The Island.” Frank drops a bag to the gang on the beach, and it has that tracker mechanism going off inside of it. Jack decides it means for them to find the pilot.
- John, Hurley and Ben finally find the cabin. Ben wont go it, and he laments that Jacob/The Island was done with him, after giving him a spinal tumor and killing his daughter Alex. He waits outside, and Hurley splits a candy bar with him. A great comic moment.
- John doesn’t find Jacob in the cabin; instead it’s Christian Shephard and his daughter Claire. Who looks weird and has a double chin. Huh? Christian tells John not to mention that Clarie was there with him, and that the baby didn’t belong in the cabin and that he was where he needed to be. He tells John to ask the one important question … and … John asks “How do we save “The Island.” You see where its all going on from here.

- Next week’s episode looks fantastic, we see someone in a ship say “They are calling you the Oceanic 6.” OMG, how does it happen? How do Kate, Jack, Aaron, Sun, Sayid and Hurley all get off “The Island?” Wait, is it by the boat that Sayid has taken from the Kahana? Or does the pilot come through and save some of them? Will Desmond’s prediction of seeing Claire get on a helicopter come true? Or was Charlie’s death senseless? Damn, I’m so sad to think that this is the beginning of the end for LOST!
Oh, and this will freak you out …
Abaddon (Hebrew:אבדון,Avaddon - destruction, abyss) , in demonology, was chief of the demons of the seventh hierarchy. He was called The Destroyer and, in the Book of Revelation, St John called him the King of the locusts (Rev 9: 7-11).
Until next week,
The Girl from the Ghetto w/Bronchitis…..

VERY impressive! WOW! Awesome call about Abaddon. Since he works for Dharma (I think), this just confirms that whole side is the evil side.
LOVED the John Locke/Jean-Luc Picard photo.
And ya, Claire did have a double chin! So weird!

Everything you wrote ofcourse I remember, but it’s always exciting to read over it at my own pace. Thanks for writing this. And you are right, that moment with Ben and Hurley eating the chocolate bar was hilarious. Do you agree that this show is about TIME TRAVEL? Now, why do you thingk Claire seemed wierd, is she hypnotized? And yes she did have a double chin!

Oh yeah, what do you think is the deal with Richard? If you notice we havn’t seen him in a long time ( in real show time) Only in flashbacks. Is he hiding along with the other in that temple Ben sent Alex to? Richard freaks me out, he’s everywhere! He knows everyone and everything, he’s , as far as i’m concerned, the real key to everything.

Do you think Clair is dead? Christian Shephard is dead isn’t he? Maybe that’s why Claire says “I’m with him” referring to Christian because she is dead too.
Thank goodness for the girl from the ghetto” because even with bronchitis you remember things that I have forgotten.

I think that Claire could be dead, but I’m not sure if I want to commit to this just yet. but it would explain the weird look in her eye, just like Cindy the flight attendant …. like she is a pretty zombie with a double chin or something ….
