Whew, where to begin? I have been looking for work like a mad woman, as the issues I have @ work have become worse. If you haven’t followed along, 2 people quit, and they aren’t replacing them, and they are forcing us to do more work. No raise for the past 2 years. Plus I’m on work restrictions and have been not strictly following the doc’s orders. My boss is retiring and they are also not replacing her. WTF? Plus, perhaps a few people in my office are typical govt employees who don’t work hard enough. But anyways, I have been searching like never before. Have a few leads … I am hopeful. I mean, I’m realiable, trainable, and I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I have to get out of the negative environment for no more important reason than it’s terrible for my health.
Also, I have been gearing up for the big Partylite show @ my house Saturday. I’m a little disappointed a few fun friends aren’t coming, but hey, that’s life. I am so going overboard, as it’s also a time when some of my family are riding up from the ghetto to my house. I’m also trying to become a Partylite Consultant so that I can raise $$$ to pay for my last 8 classes in grad school. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I only need 1 more person to tell me yes. (If you or your friend live in Metro Detroit and want to host a show, hell, let me know.) Just listen to the menu I have planned (And also check out a few pictures from my last party @ my house)
Chocolate brownie triffle, peanut butter blossoms, ranch dip, veggies, cheese, ranch cheese and bacon dip, spinich dip, croissant wrapped sausages, roasted red pepper, cheese and artichoke dip, various crackers, stuffed baby portabella mushrooms, black bean and corn salsa, and Jack’s Salsa, and homemade guac., plus wine, various coke products, water, and a yummy non-alcoholic punch, and plenty of booze on the side.

I’m also trying to convince the hubby to try and sell our place. Our next door neighbor decided to rent, so I feel it might be a good time, even though no one is buying here in Detroit. I read today in the paper that the unemployment rate is @ 7.2%. My gosh, sometimes I feel guilty about even complaining about work. I know it could be worse.
Trying to plan the final touches on our vacation in Mid-April. Going to Boston, and I can’t wait. But, since we are in the middle of a snow-storm tonight, I’m praying it won’t be the type of vacation that I have to wear boots and a heavy winter coat for. I’m praying for Spring to arrive next week.
And lastly, I’m desperately trying to get into a research study @ WSU for chronic pain or Fibro sufferers. I have a friend who is a professor there and she’s given me a few leads. I have to do something for the pain. I’m so tired of just coming home and laying like a fat sausage in my bed, or on the couch. I don’t want to take pain meds yet because I don’t want to turn out like Paula Abdul. I’m already a little goofy … who needs to be acting all crazy 24-7. Hee hee, poor Paula …
P.S. I’m so sad that LOST isn’t on tonight … perhaps I’ll still try to catch a rerun.

Okay, I think this would be about a five hour journey, round trip from my house. After hearing the menu and seeing the pictures, I’m almost ready to do it, and I don’t even know what Partylite is!
You’re making so many changes in your life– it’s just fantastic. And I think you coined a new term– I don’t want to “Paula Abdul” either! I hope you get into that study.

OK, you’re making me crazy with all the food, though I did see a vegetable tray and some fruit. But it’s a long way to Detroit for fruit.
Don’t take pain meds. My son started on pain meds and then took up heroin when he couldn’t get them anymore.
I took pain meds for a short while but the problem is you keep having to up the dosage to get them to relieve the pain. You start out with three a day, then four , then five, then 6 and it never ends. I weaned myself off at six a day. I took time doing it because I didn’t want any withdrawal symptoms after seeing what my son went through. I only take advil now. The pain meds really only took the pain away for a short time, like an hour and then you have to wait 5 hours to take more. It seemed pointless to me.
Yea, and I watched Lost for ten minutes before I realized it was a rerun. DUH!!
What a disappointment! I had my 94% fat free minibag of popcorn already with my diet soda too. I watched it anyway.
My daughter and her husband are going on vacation in mid April also. They are going to Vegas.
I wish I knew more about Boston. But as we well know, I don’t travel much but I am doing better. You will be about 80 miles from me. Let me know if you come to Old Cape Cod. It’s beautiful here. Falmouth is one of the prettier towns on the Cape. Hyannis sucks, too touristy. Falmouth still holds some quaintness to it even though it is much more built up then it was when I moved here 35 years ago. If you go to Martha’s Vineyard let me know. You can go in my daughter’s jewelry store. Sometimes you meet famous people there. A few years ago my daughter stood in line at a famous ice cream store next to Hillary, Bill and Chelsea. Carly Simon is a regular customer who once sang to my daughter in the store. I saw Bill Murray once when I was there.
Here I am, going on and on. I can’t seem to stop once I get going. I’m stopping now. No, really!!!

Partylite is candles you guys. Ha ha … Thanks for at least thinking it out as to how far it’d take you to come to the show….
Yeah, I’m just taking chocolate for the pain, thus the 60 lb weight gain. At least it’s been fun doing this treatment!

Good luck with your party. Do you want to schedule one in the lower Houston area of suburban Detroit?
Your pictures are so bad! You are making it hard for me to get excited about the salad in front of me.
(and…. I am finally updating my blogroll. Sorry, it took so long to add you)

So sorry about the work issues! That’s not fun at all.
Your food for the PartyLite party looks AMAZING. I’m hungry just seeing the pics. You must be a very talented cook!
