The Girl from the Ghetto

Lost - Kate has Clare’s Baby Aaron-and pretending it’s her own…

February 21, 2008 · 28 Comments

Lost tonight, again, rocked.  OMG.  Since I’m really tired, here is a very quick recap:

  1. Asian Ghost whisperer Miles demands $3.2 million from Ben in exchange to pretend that Ben is dead;
  2. Kate thought she was pregnant by Sawyer, but isn’t;
  3. Sun (Who cares!) wants to have her baby back in the homeland;
  4. John Locke is trying to tun into a bad-ass by sticking a grenade into Miles mouth to make him spill;
  5. The helicopter never made it to the boat, yet;
  6. Jack testifies at Kate’s trial .. and say that there were 8 survivors … so, 2 die on the way to rescue?  Who?
  7. And, Kate has a son in the flash-forward.  She signs a jail-free plea bargin for her step-dads murder, and goes home to see her baby … and it’ Aaron.  WTF?  Where is Clare?  Does she die or did they leave her behind?

    AAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

    The grenade was cool though…since I turned out to be John Locke on the “Which Lost Character are You?” quiz…I wanted to be Sayid! Now Locke is the badass!

    OMG is right. Just way too much information - confusing information. BUT, in a great LOST way! :)

    well just because they say there were eight survivors doesnt make it so. - jack says the eight survivors survived the plane crash well we know thats a blatent lie. we know only six get off the island and we know that its jack,kate,aaron(does this one count as he wasnt listed on the flight?) sayyid and hugo and “him” him could be sawyer but then again it could be referring to someone else, jacob?

    as to the are they still alive that was present in the recent episodes i reckon a portion on people are still living on the island a its the only way they can live, rose for instance. sun and jin have to die, its just not feesable that they can survive.

    and i am counting down the time till jack and claire find out they are sibs. waiting for walt and michael to come back in it - wont they count on the oceanic six?

    jack, kate, hugo, sayyid, michael and walt are oceanic six then lil jacob survives as he was concieved off the island.

    Hi, I am a Lost fanatic. I just bought seasons 1 & 2 and am saving to buy season 3 so I can watch the whole three seasons at one sitting with maybe a little sleep in between. I am retired so I have the time. I’m also post menopausal and my memory is terrible and I keep forgetting things I should remember about the show. I had totally forgotten that Jack and Oh Lord, I forgot her name (Aaron’s mom) are siblings.

    Then I look on your blogroll and who do I see but my wonderful friend Moonbeam Mcqueen. It’s a small blog world.

    This season is great so far. I think I’ll have to take notes so I can remember everything each week. Or I’ll just come here to see what your ideas are.

    I haven’t heard anyhting about Michael and Walt. Walt has been seen on the island by Locke.

  • zEke // February 22, 2008 at 5:43 pm

    i think oceanic six are jack, claire, hugo, sayid, jin and sun… i had the feeling there will be a shared episode about them soon, just from the little dialog they had, and that these days means surviving… i don’t think aaron counts… in case we need two to die to make it up to eight, what about desmon one¿? he is already in the helicopter with sayid…

    Oh no… I’m Shanon… T_T
    Anyhow… Yeah, this was a freaky episode. I’m so tired of Locke… I want more Hurley!
    “You Just Totally Scooby-Dooed Me, Didn’t You?” XD

    :O What a development. (seriously.) I don’t particularly like Kate’s Character, but this is super interesting cause it makes me wonder what happen to Claire for Kate to end up with Aaron.

    Augh! I miss Charlie!

    According to last weeks promo, Aaron would be counted as on of the 6. You don’t have to be on the manifesto to be considered a crash survivor if you weren’t yet born!
    Michael is definitely going to be back. He is in the opening credits this season. I don’t know about Walt, but if the writers need a way to explain him growing up, they might be able to use the time travel thing (difference in time from on the island as opposed to off the island).
    I think that Claire will be killed, and it will be jack who does it. By accident, of course. That is why Kate has Aaron and jack doesn’t want to see him (he feels incredible guilt — remember, jack is not a killer, jack is a healer). And I think that the last of the 6 could be Locke. He doesn’t want to leave, but obviously Ben ends up running the show again by the time the 6 are off the island, and obviously he would want Locke gone since Locke is trying to take over as the island’s leader. I believe Locke was the person in the coffin during the jack flash forward.
    Walt and Michael also won’t count as part of the 6 because they are either being kept on the freighter, kept on the island or will be killed and assumed dead by the “real world”. Obviously, a lot of the survivors besides the 6 are going to live. The story jack gave about there only being 8 crash survivors kind of proves that it is all a big cover-up, probably concocted by Ben. Ben is controlling at least sayid off the island (possibly the other 6, too) because he has the other survivors on the island as sort of hostages. That is why he told sayid something like, “do you want me to hurt your friends?” in the sayid flash forward. He is using them as leverage to get what he wants. The guy who visits hurley at the mental hospital and who also hired Naomi and crew is Ben’s arch nemesis — he is desperately trying to find the island again. That is why he tried to get Hurley — he believes hurley might be able to lead him back, especially since Hurley saw Charlie and also saw Jacob and Jacobs shack. Kate doesn’t want to go back, which is why she took the plea deal that said she couldn’t leave the state. She doesn’t want to go anywhere near back to the island. Jack does want to get back, because he was important there, and he isn’t so much back in the “real world” — it is also why he’s grasping desperately for Kate to try and get something of the island back.
    But, anyway, these are just my theories. I can’t wait to see if I get any of them right!!

    Ah okay, I didn’t know that was Claire’s baby . . .

    next time I’ll put the closed captioning on since I could hardly hear the dialogue.

    the episode before with Sayid was better.

    4. No, he doesn’t do that to make him spill, it’s because Miles broke the “rules” and he’s penalizing him. Locke already asked Kate what Miles said to Ben.

    6. No, there were 48 survivors. Not 8. Everything Jack says is a lie. He told them the cover story, they didn’t crash in the water as Jack tells in court, they crashed right onto the island, remember? They have to lie. Also think of Jack in 3×23, the season 3 finale - Jack says to Kate he’s sick of lying.

    7. I really doubt that Claire is dead. She’s probably still with the rest of our losties back on the island.

  • peak9 // February 22, 2008 at 10:58 pm

    Does any of this matter?

  • morethananelectrician // February 22, 2008 at 11:01 pm

    Every once in a while, people like to escape from the reality of this cruel world.

  • onemorecup // February 22, 2008 at 11:30 pm

    Checkin’ in:

    My prediction early was that Claire would be the first to die from the Oceanic flight; but why, omg I love her. However, it’s interesting to toy with the notion that somehow Jack is involved in her death. That would be sad. Sawyer’s probably going to kill Locke and decide to stay. But, I have a feeling he’s with Kate; it was from the season ender last season when Jack and Kate met at the airport; she said, “…he doesn’t like me coming out here…” No, I don’t think she was referring to Aaron.

    FWIW, I think Michael and Walt are on the freighter; Sayid makes it through as one of the six; we know that. There are quite a few things left undone: Where did Jacob’s cabin go? Makes me think of the episodes that included the ‘other’ ‘other’s’ probably indigenous to the island. They’ve been mentioned far too much, even this season. Ben’s got an ace or two still to play.

    Enjoy your site!

  • peak9 // February 23, 2008 at 8:48 am

    morethananelectrician,

    This world is not very cruel by historical standards. I am a fan of good television, but Lost has become a religious movement along with American Idol.

  • thegirlfromtheghetto // February 23, 2008 at 9:26 am

    I don’t think Lost can compare with American Idol. Everyone I know watches Idol. I mean everyone. Only a few people I know watch Lost, so that is why I blog here so I can speak more about the show. Also, I know that there were 48 survivors, but somehow The Oceanic 6 are claiming 8 survived. And I really think Clair will die because no mother leaves her child.

  • Josh // February 23, 2008 at 10:02 am

    Yeah Jack lied that 8 survived the crash. If Aaron at the end of the episode is truly Claire’s Aaron, or Kate’s son, he shouldn’t count in the 6 of the Oceanic 6.

    Now if it is Claire’s Aaron, why the hell doesn’t Jack want to see the child, even if he doesn’t know that he is an uncle to Claire’s Aaron, I can’t see how that would make him not want to see Kate.

  • nambulous // February 23, 2008 at 1:09 pm

    “And I really think Clair will die because no mother leaves her child.”

    Really? I would rather go with the term “every good mother wants the best for her child”. And by that definition it’s very possible that Claire gave Aaron to Kate, so if she herself wasn’t allowed to leave, at least the child would be fine. Because that would be more important to her.

  • Deano // February 24, 2008 at 5:37 pm

    peak9,

    Why are you reading and replying if you dont care?

  • Kaleidoscope Owl // February 24, 2008 at 9:49 pm

    Remember Desmond said to Charlie he saw Claire and the baby get on a helicopter. He didn’t see what happens to them after that. Maybe Claire dies on the way to or on the ship and it’s a possibility that it is somehow Jack’s fault.
    Maybe he pulls a rocket launcher out of his back pocket and blows the chopper up not knowing she is on it…i dunno.
    I really want to know who Kate was referring to, i hope it is Sawyer because he is one of my favorite characters on the show so it would be a shame if he died or got left behind.
    I think Locke will probably die on the island or eventually take over Ben’s job as island leader. Because in Sayid’s episode Ben is off the island, someone would have had to stay there and keep an eye on it.

    Peak9

    I love LOST , excellent show!!
    Religious movement, aaaaahhh I dont think so.

  • peak9 // February 25, 2008 at 8:48 am

    Deano,

    This blog is awesome. That’s why.

  • peak9 // February 25, 2008 at 8:59 am

    Mrcy,

    Lost is well crafted and entertaining, but people worship this show. That is all I’m saying.

    Peace.

  • Amanda // February 28, 2008 at 1:25 am

    Maybe Desmond told Charlie he saw Clare and Aaron get on the helicopter because he knew that would be a reason Charlie would die. He may have actually had a flash of him getting on the helicopter and he told Charlie it was Clare because he is so desperate to get home to Penny.. just a thought…

  • german lostie // March 31, 2008 at 10:43 pm

    when i saw this episode, i thought nice ending now you can go to sleep, but the fact that kate has (a child named) aaron freaked me out

    the fakt amanda sayed with desmond and the helicopter is a interisting point
    didnt like desmond that much anyway and if he sent charlie to die so he can live his helicopter dream , that would make him to me the very least favourite character.

    cant believe charlie died!
    worst think, till now his dead didnt do any good?!

    and jack killing clair and kate taking the baby…makes sense, but it wouldnt be lost if it was that simple :p

    we will see

    greetings from oversea

  • Claire's Fan! // May 2, 2008 at 6:16 am

    (I don’t know english that well… ;)
    Do you think claire is dead?
    If she is, so all the show is not what i thought it was- and this show was my favorite, but if they killed claire so this is became a bad show for me!
    =[

  • thegirlfromtheghetto // May 2, 2008 at 12:38 pm

    I am not sure if Claire is dead or just missing/kidnapped again.

  • Zarina // May 11, 2008 at 6:15 pm

    Jack is Claire’s brother, and it is clear since Christian is their father. So somehow Claire doesn’t get back home, she either stays on the island because “she supposed to stay” or she dies. And after the first time Kate holds the baby in the village and Claire says something like “she couldn’t imaginve herself being a mom”, Kate will get Aaron. Although I don’t understand why wouldn’t Jack want to be with KAte because of his blood related nephew… yeah… anyways …
