I ran across an ad in The Detroit News today for baby leg warmers. At first, I really thought it was a joke, as the website was something like titsy.com. But when I did an internet search I discovered even babies had to dress in 80s fashion. OMG, are you f-ing kidding me? Look how angry this baby is wearing the rainbow leg-warmers. This baby feels like an idiot.
Back in the early 80s, I had a pair of purple leg warmers that I wore with my baby doll flats and tight Jordashe jeans. My hair had roach clip feathers in it, and I often wore rainbow pins. I thought I looked sexy, but now know I looked like a jack-ass. What will these baby’s think looking back 10 years from now?
Who is doing this to our youth, and why? It’s just plain wrong …. One site advertised “Sexy 80’s style leg warmers for girls, kids, babies and teens …” Hmmm … ever wonder why the U.S. birth rates are up? Sexy sells, even when it involves babies. Twisted!!!

I’ve seen these too and think they’re a little goofy. The bonus? I guess you could put them on instead of baby pants and save a step trying to change diapers?

Those are ridiculous. Though I suppose they would make it a bit easier to change a diaper…

I do have to admit that if I had a girl I would have to buy those little legwarmers, how fun, I have 3 boys and never get to buy fun stuff like that. I loved my legwarmers when I was little, I think I might buy myself a pair, hehe. ;o)

THESE ROCK!!!!! Seriously, I would never think of this to be cute but they’re all over the place! My daughter has some and she looks so cute! EVERYONE comments on them when she’s wearing them and it’s all positive. They’re actually more practical/functional than you’d think. They made changing dooty diapers a breeze and are MUCH easier than tights.

My 4 month old is sooo cute in her BabyLegs. I hate the 80s but the styles of most of the warmers are so mod now they don’t remind me of “those days.” It makes diaper changes a lot easier, too, and it will really help with rug burn and crawling on hard surfaces, when she starts being mobile!

Well I have two pair of leg warmers for baby girl and I get nothing but good comments on them! They are super easy to make and helped out a lot when she started crawling. Her knees don’t get scratched up and when we travel it’s much easier to put those on her and have easy access to her diaper. These were a wonderful idea!

I thought I’d never buy these but I got them for my son as he is getting rug burn from crawling when wearing shorts. I don’t have to put jeans or long pants on him and they slip on an off easy for when we go back outside without him screaming because he needs to be changed again. I also put them on him at picnics and such as crawling on dry grass and dirt hurts. I got him some very “boy” looking ones, and other than using them for crawling or keeping a pair in my bag for when evenings get chilly when we are out, I don’t use them.

Those are Babylegs. That is the company name.
And they are not sold as “leg warms” persay.
They are great for diaper changing. Make it very easy. Also great for those who have a baby learning to crawl. And if you are into cloth diapers, many are very very cute and elaborate to the point that you want that fancy diaper to be seen. And with a pair of babylegs you can still see it.
http://www.hyenacart.com/goodmama (check out this ladies diapers and what they sell for. If i paid over 200$ for a diaper I’d not want it hidden under a pair of pants.
Seriously tho, babylegs are a nice item. Might want to research them a bit before you totally slam them.

Actually they are fantastic and very practical… don’t have to pull the whole pants on and off to change nappies, they are softer on little knees crawling around, and oh so gorgeous!! Not to mention how cute my cloth diapers look with them!
I didn’t even think of 80s at all… I have many pairs for my little girl.

Crazy looking? Depends on who is looking at them. They obviously don’t float your boat they float others. Above all, these baby-leg warmers do keep babies legs warm when they’re wearing onesies and/or keep little one’s knees from getting scratched up while learning to crawl. Practicality isn’t always fashion forward.

I put these on my daughter all the time. Mostly we use them for under skirts and dresses when it’s cold and in those cases, they look like leggings. I love the idea. It’s so easy to change her diaper because there is no on off on off. I get nothing but positive comments and reactions when I put them on her. I looooove them and I never thought someone wouldn’t!

All of you, I never thought about all of the positives for the leg warmers … they just looked so creepy to me when I first saw them!

Being a cloth diapering mom, I would not be able to function w/o babylegs. Using wool diaper covers, especially overnight, pants are not an option since diaper cover is way too thick. Babylegs are a great way to keep baby warm during winter and they are also great for crawling babies to keep those knees safe.
They could be purchased as a fashion statement but they are in all reality a must have for a cloth diapered baby …. I have twin boys (3 months) and a 3 year old and they all love their babylegs!

Michelle and all the other moms – When I wrote this post I thought those baby leg warmers was trendy and attempting to put a sexy spin on baby clothes. Now after hearing from many of you I can appreciate the ease they provide.
