A woman’s hardest decision is … cutting her hair … WHY?

Ok, I have just spent 2 hours looking through 4 hairstyle magazines and browsing numerous pictures of bobs on the internet. I have no idea what’s going down tomorrow when I see Micky at 11:00 am. I don’t understand why this comes down to, like, the biggest decision of 2008 for me.

The facts and challenges are these:

  • My face is getting rounder (Fatter) from the stress eating I’ve been doing for the past 2 years. I swear I’d try a short bob if I didn’t have this challenge, but I do, and short bobs make fat faces look WORSE;
  • I go between the bang – no bang thing every other haircut, and I’m sick of it;
  • I need bangs because I’m starting to get fine lines. I want to hide them, with one of those haircuts like Elliot from Scrubs, but way longer, but I hate hair in my face;
  • I don’t want to spend more than 5 minutes on my hair. I can’t get out of bed due to my Fibromyalgia, and the last thing I need is to try and start waking up earlier. Right now I shower and leave the house with wet hair. Dead sexy I tell you.
  • My hair is very long right now, about 7 inches past my chin. I have the ability to do any hair cut possible to man, and I’m scared to do anything radical. I don’t want someone telling me they liked my hair before. NEVER EVER SAY THAT TO A WOMAN.;
  • I have no desire to look like Rhiana, Posh Spice or Katie Holmes. I want to look like me;

  • I have fine hair that loves to go flat, so I love haircuts with lots of texture.

Any chick or hairstylist out out there that can recommend a haircut that addresses my challenges please send me your advice. I’m going insane. My hair magazines are my co-workers from 2006. I’ve got nothing going in for the battle tomorrow.

  1. Hi, I can truly understand how you feel. I spent months picking the courage to snap off my long hair to my current bob.

    I am loving my bob so much now. I have been maintaining this look for months, and I don’t miss my long hair.

    Here are what some friends might say to you: short hair looks chic and edgy, but long hair is more demure. I hack the demure part, seriously.

    And, I have similar flat hair problem. If it is makes you feel better, my hair is also limp and very fine. My stylist gave me a hollow concave at the back of my bob to “create” more volume. I have asymmetrical sides.

    If you wish to look at some photos, do email me. :)

  2. Hey.. I know what you mean. I gave it up years ago…wearing Indian hair extensions! That’s my hair reality!

  3. My hair is thin, but straight as can be (though I get curls underneath – i just LOVE that it has a mind of it’s own!), and I LOVE my bob! Once I went short, there was no going back – I haven’t had it past my shoulders in 12yrs! Only do the bangs if you can handle growing them out – I feel like I’m stuck with them now;)

  4. seriously… what is up with Posh’s, Rhianna’s and Katie’s hair? Triplets?

  5. hey …m sorta in a fix rite now so i wud reeely appreciate it if u guys cud help me……the thing is i have a round face ok m not sure or maybe i have an oval face…any ways i black wavy long hair…and i reely dunno wat kind of a hairstyle i shud get… hmmmm…i sorta don want short hair so wat kind of a haircute shud i get….dudes m reeely confused…hmmm wat abt a fringe i wudnt mind gettn one but…………..i dunnnoo……plz help if u guys got sum cool ideas….thanx a lot..!:)

  6. I recommend you get a medium shag hairstyle.
    The shag hairstyle looks absolutly sexy on a round-faced person, but make sure you get a side bang that passes the eye.
    Shags frame the face with layers and slims down the cheeks. It’s also very easy to manage.
    By the way, go to a modern hairstylist if you want the shag style because some hairdressers won’t know what a shag haircut is, which will be a stressful problem.
    Hope this helped !
